@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 she's been my friend for over 20 years... She migrated to Canada a few years ago, so it was a really exciting and relaxing day spending it with her..... I got some goodies from that trip that I'll show off in the next video 😁
Nice thick Boug trunk with the hollow in it. Nice root system on it. The repotting will bring out some nice growth to it and the enjoyment of a bonus with flowers.
Boug #2, with that hollow feature, a bear cave? Super cool! I have not heard that saying in a long time. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Welcome to the club. I have the sniffles also. Weather changing. Have a cup of sage tea to help rid yourself of it. To preserve the wood can you get some titebond wood glue? Brush it on and it dries clear. Check in your hardware store for wood glue if you do not have TiteBond. Hopefully all grows well after the repotting and the hollow does not rot out.
@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 thanks for the suggestion.... I will go check it out.... That's a great name for that particular tree..the bear cave bougainvillea..... I hope you get over the flu quickly my friend....🎉🎉🎉
I just found your channel last night! I hope to start my own channel soon. I’m newish to bonsai but have been dabbling for years and gardening for years. Good work on your treees! I hope they do well with all the effort you give :) congrats on the air layer. Even if it doesn’t survive it’s a great learning experience and inspiring to us watching! I look forward to the updates of your trees 💪🏽
@@michaelbird2857 thanks so much for joining and I'm glad I could inspire..... Let me know as soon as you start your. Channel, I wanna be one of the first to subscribe and support you my friend.. I'll do an update video to show the progress and failures 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you again for your kind words 🎉🎉🎉
On that big cutting, scrape the bark between the brains and put on hardwood root hormone. Should work out for you. Sometimes the air layer takes and sometimes it does not. Luck of the draw so to say. At least you tried.
@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 yeah I did...and I am funny enough, more excited about the experiment.... I know it's unusually big, but say what?! Go big or go home 🤣
Seawater does “preserve” wood however it also expands it, that’s only in instances where there is continuous exposure… soo let’s say you try a concentrated saltwater mix… I’ll try it too, I have a similar Boug that I am working on.
Looking good bro! Just started seeing roots on airlayer #2 on my Brazilian rain tree 🎉
@@brandonsmith2902 bro that's great 😃

Air layer #2, at least you received some roots on it. Should take off after the root helps the cutting to gain more. Bummer losing that 2nd root.
@@growclipbonsaiforseniors1951 I couldn't help but laugh....it only had 2 roots and 1 fell off.... I hope with the humidity it survives and takes off
