Iowa is good when she isn't trolling. Cannot count how many shots I've taken lately in my Iowa's where they've just gone everywhere but where I aimed at. The RNG in this game drives me absolutely bonkers.
On PC is not so. WG should buff the RNG of legends
Yea I used this ship for entire year (2022) then all the sudden mid 2023 I couldn’t use it anymore shells just go all over the place

Iowa was my first tier 7 ship. Oh, and I dress her up in the same skin, too. The Black Dragon was the very first ship I bought for gold. I don't, nor will I likely ever, have enough steel for Mighty Mo. If I did, well I'd have her in my port as well.
don’t say never. if you get to tier 8 and a legendary ship there’s a campaign you can do daily called premium supplies that will get you 150 steel when you’re done
@@austins9950 I do the premium supply missions. I also typically finish the campaigns and get the little bits of steel that trickle in after level 100. Any steel I do get usually goes to an epic or legendary mod for one of my other ships.

The first tier 7 I got was the Edinburgh, kinda a mistake
Iowa was my first lvl VII battleship. I learned real fast not to try and do full broadside with it. An opponent with a good a good gunnery Captain setup will one shot your citadel for half the HP. I quickly learned to use cover and go bow in on my opponents if I’m in open water. That also works if I’m being flanked by cruisers and destroyers to help mitigate torpedoes. The rear turret I’ll only use that if a cruiser or destroyer has managed to flank my team while I was focused on my opponent’s citadels.
I’ve also gone through all my battleships level V and higher and removed the turret rotation upgrade in favor of the spotting upgrade. +20 increase in turret rotation doesn’t help you if your reload time doesn’t keep up. My level IV and lower I still use the turret rotation up grade, because even with the spotting upgrade you have to get closer to the target for RGA.
I also removed the 50% to full power upgrades on most of my battleships in favor of increased rudder speed. Having your ship quickly change direction helps with being able to avoid torpedoes, bombers, and reduce the impact of incoming fire. In many respects I’ll go bow in with my lower level ships when I know my opponent is going broadside. I’ll sometimes turn just enough to get a second salvo from rear turrets on my Colorado, then immediately start going bow in again, or just keep stern in, and rotate my fronts turrets just enough to kite away, or hit other targets. 4 rounds from the Colorado every 15 seconds beats 8 rounds every 30 seconds, and Keeps you weaving to make you harder to hit broadside.

I love Iowa, I took her out today and had a great game, over a 100k damage, a close quarters medal on a cruiser, and dev struck a Veneto with just the front turrets

Iowa was one of my first
T7's and while she isn't quite the monster that everyone loved 4 years ago, she still slaps and is very fun to play. Hurts to see people dissing the Iowa based off new players that sail broadside with no paint and wait to be dev struck lol. When played correctly she definitely can still compete with other T7 BBs which is awesome.
I need to visit BS New Jersey. It's the closest museum ship to me, I haven't seen it since I was just a kid on a Cub Scouts trip

Hmm, I worded that wrong, I've SEEN it plenty of times in my adult life, as my (now) wife and I have visited Penns Landing and the Camden Aquarium numerous times since we met. But I haven't been on board for a tour in decades.
I remember going through severe pain with New Mexico and Colorado before unlocking this ship (im not good at all with that battleships) one day I got very desperate and sold almost all my ships to have the battleship Iowa at once but I regretted it since when I bought it I was left with 900k credits and the Iowa service charged more than 100k per game, at this moment I have 1 million credits but I'm afraid of losing them, any advice :c?

Iowa was my first tier 7 BB. It's been king since day 1.
Never used to like Iowa, until I learned how to position it, and I have already had 3 200k+ games and I got it right after thanksgiving.

I like Iowa I just don't find myself playing her very often anymore since, imo, there are better choices at the tier, Kansas and any of the South Dakota-class, for example. While it's possible to have a good game in ANY ship in 2024, and I would definitely not call Iowa a terrible ship, it almost feels like Iowa has either had an accuracy nerf or is suffering from power-creep.
Imo Iowa is pretty average to maybe a tic below average.

@user-ko5nf1lv2p It takes practice along with situational awareness with what ships are on your flanks, such as HE spam cruisers, dd's and heavy hitting battleships. Don't show broadsides and don't push to early
Iowa well aways be one of the Queen Battleships at Tier VII. But to me there are three Iowa's that can show up for a match. The first Iowa is what makes her Queen and one of the best all her attacks hit or at lest 90 percent were you aim, the Second though not as good is her attacks hit 60-80 percent were you aim, and the last is the worst and why I call her Queen of the trolls her shoots miss 40 percent or more,

Iowa has always been my favorite Tier VII Battleship.
Kansas's superior to iowa, she has better survivability and is a better artillery platform she has one extra gun turrey 12 versus 9 and a broadside as far as Naval Warfare is concerned the Kansas is the superior brawler now you can make the argument the iOS better speed and she certainly does but the Kansas was designed as an original South Dakota class Battleship from the 1920s to be a full-blown super Dreadnought the aisle on the other hand was a fast Battleship meaning to retain its escorting capabilities for faster carriers

@@Slattatronnn true but only by about what the Iowa is default speed is 31 knots per top speed is 25.9 matter of 45 knots to me is not a deal-breaker when shitt gets really hairy the Kansas is simply more resilient owing to her line of battle origin design you have to remember she's an example of the original South Dakota class series of super dreadnoughts built during the first world war they were meant to take hits the Iowa on the other hand is a potent gun platform she can lay down artillery with deadly Precision owing to her Mark 7 guns and range but she can't take as much attention as the Kansas owing to her fast Battleship genus for Speed was elevated above armor inform and function the Kansas is a true or Battleship the Iowa is a gunslinger
whether or not your Colorado is accurate or not doesn't matter when you compare the Legends accuracy to PC. not gonna lie i sighed a huge sigh of relief when the Legends Colorado had better accuracy then PC or at least when I grinded it on PC

Can’t really use any battleship now because of service cost.. never been charged with high price. Know not best at skill but be nice face some lower tier ships which never happens in my games

Maybe a buff is in her future i got the ship for the deleteablity she had back in the early days when you could dev strike just about anything or atleast it was alittle easier to dev strike back then
Concur Spartan the Iowa still a veteran proven battleship in gun platform at long distances but she's just been eclipsed by a few other vessels in the game now the Ohio is completely superior to the Iowa in all battle characteristics and the Missouri certainly renders the Iowa obsolete in gameplay I mean for one I don't think I would ever use the Iowa again if I had the Missouri in World of Warships

Iowa is the 1st ship I ever got 200K in. Tried to submit the video to Spartan but I was talking all over the video so it got rejected for community replay lol Still one of the greatest games I've played. Iowa was worth all the blood, sweat and tears of grinding out the American line. Still is

@@G0o5se I would give you tips on how I play the ship but I'm even more aggressive than Spartan WITHOUT the successful youtube channel encouraging me to play for content soooo lol I get into brawls with my Iowa far more than anyone should.
But I would say Iowa is best at midrange. Sniping Iowa is good if you can get crossfires consistently and you are a good aim. Just sitting at your spawn and shooting from the moon does no one any good. And while I brawl it out in this ship it is definitely NOT meant for it with it's super slappable citadel.
So I'd say go dispersion build and try to get to between 12 and 9K from a battle. Close enough to angle if you are fighting more than one enemy and close enough to reliably hit your shots but far enough away that you can run if things get hot or if someone is charging you to torp you to kingdom come

@@G0o5se Hey no problem. Just remember that part of getting better is figuring out your comfort zone. So while you're playing take stock of which games you do best in and try to adapt what felt good into your playstyle
After months of grinding, and ignoring the Jersey for a couple days. I have finally unlocked this beautiful ship. However, in your opinion after playing this game so long which ship do you think is better, AL NJ or the Iowa. Also Ill be using AL NJ commander.

@SpartanElite43 That's what I thought. I'm just glad to open a true tier ship, been abusing the NJ the past couple months. Iowa class is one of my favorites and for me it's a beautiful ship.
@SpartanElite43 So the differences I found between the 2. Iowa range is 17.4 Jersey 19.5. Speed Iowa 24.3 with a 20.5 rudder shift. Jersey is 27 with a 15.6 rudder shift. So if we want to get technical Jersey is the better ship. Also same build for both. Hahaha.
Also what is your fleet name can you invite me to it. My fleet sucks and hardly anyone plays. If you invite me to your fleet I'll drop a hundred bomb on the next live stream I'm in. Yes this is a bribe somewhat. haha.

better don't watch my Iowa stats. the ship I perform worst on my T7 BBs. it doesn't work for me. (to be fair, it was my first t7. I also ruined it a bit at the start)
so many matches with questionable teammates, and then the guns go Giuseppe Verdi shotgun style, AP doesn't pen. its a nightmare for me 😅
I simply play my Massachussetts and I get more wins+silver.
Iowa is great but 8 out of 10 games it trolls so inconsistent of a ship

@SpartanElite43 doing good. Worst part of this surgery is the sleeping arrangements. With the other surgeries I was able to sleep longer but this one is a but difficult
IS she bad? I'd say nah. However, there is much fiercer competition for best tier seven battleships these days. Sure she's well balanced, but frankly that's not always enough these days. When you have ships like New Jersey filling her own niche but better, Missouri where you get the same platform with radar.. it seems hard to justify her own existence. Not one for tier lists typically but I'd consider her strong B tier. Not bad, for sure. But when you have ships like Lenin, Zieten, Atlantico and Monarch being able to completely swing the outcome of the game consistently (whether it be for tankiness, gun power, or pushing power...) I can't bring myself to regrind the line. To each his own though.

Why dont you have the legendary mod on your iowa?
The vanguard is a fantastic ship the best tech tree t ship in the game far better than the iwoa you say the vanguard doesn't turn. It turns a hell a lot better than the iwoa. I can't stand the iwoa I last about 5 minutes before getting blown out of the water in that pile of junk its horrible ship to play. Put me in the vanguard and I get fantastic results. Try using jhon Fisher and you will get a 19 seconds reload. And you most definitely won't be able to do that in the iwoa. Take a look at my 193 k damage game to see the results I'm getting with hms vanguard. God bless our King and our Royal navy

It’s not. It’s a useless ship really. “Hanging back” and “sniping” leaves you with nothing since dispersion had decided to give up and send half your shells under the target, and half of them over pen/bounce.
It’s armour is a joke, no matter what angle im at, superstructure is massive enough that everything AP will full pen, and with current meta of cruisers HE spamming, im on fire 90% of the time im spotted.
Flanking doesn’t work either, with my build 13.5km detect means im detected majority of the time I move out of spawn.
Using islands to cover your MASSIVE cit isn’t useful when everything full pens your superstructure and/or catches you on fire, and not to mention it’s a torpedo magnet and a half
I’ve had no luck with this ship despite grinding and upgrading it about halfway, still barely breaking fees and I genuinely do not know how im supposed to play this anymore,
anchored up and angled = superstructure pens, focusing, torpedoes and HE spam (even in decent island cover)
Flanking around the edges of the map, abandoned by my team and focused down by the entire enemy team on that flank (since I was spotted about 5 min ago)
Anything remotely to a New Mexico playstyle is just near instant death. Hated this ship despite holding out hope “with this upgrade it’ll get better”
Just gotta adapt your playstyle to each match. Every match cannot be played the same

henceforth the Iowa is irrelevant....The Zeiten is a much better ship than the Iowa and should be played on this channel every single week.
Only SpartanElite43 should be allowed to play the Iowa because Spartan is clearly the worst player in the game and in addition....can never ever hit a target for even 1 point of damage as demonstrated in this preposterous video.
And those are my thoughts regarding the Iowa in WoW Legends.
