Thank God Bud.. I was at the FFB all the time just trying to make the game playable with my G27.. I was giving up and playing mostly Rfactor2 for its FFB which suits my setup perfectly.. I was so lucky as I came across this video by you doing a review of this FFB setup..Just WoW.. I now use only the Wristbreaker and have my wheel setup so I only change the gain to suit the car I am driving..It's just like having a whole new rig with the setup I now use.. I tried so so many setups from everywhere I could find but this is by far and away the best.. I love it..

So far I like the comfortable mode. But like I said, still need some more time. All in all I am extremely happy with this update.
Hugo Vai´s FFB Vers.5 is a absolute Game Changer for Project Cars2 . You can feel the tyre rub and the understeer effect. Forget RFactor 2. Brings me back to Sim Racing
Thanks for that video. I really like PC2 but I was close to let it down because of the information weak and strange ffb. With these ffb files ist gamechanging for me because the cars feel so much better and its much easier to control them. Amazing!
Hey Mike, thanks for another terrific video. I just tried Hugo’s ffb settings. They really are a game changer. I almost missed out. I saw them on Race Department but didn’t think they’d be applicable to my AccuForce DD wheel. Glad you checked them out. I’m still playing around with Pure Feel for now. THis FFB is making me enjoy PCARS 2 more than AC right now... Forgot how awesome this game can be. Did a mixed grid LMP Le Mans set for 24 minutes and 60x time progression with a thunderstorm thrown in the mix... My word... Amazing immersion in VR. No other game comes close.

I came here bc I tweaked Assetto Corsa's settings and loved the feel. I have also been playing PJ2 and AC Competizione but didnt like the FFB as much. This custom FFB made me feel as in tune with the car as in Assetto Corsa GAME CHANGER. Thanks SimRacing604 !!
Really great tip, thanks Mike and thanks Hugo for the file. After trying them all on my T300 I actually settled for the 'For Ladies Only' file - forces were over strong (using the F50 GT around Long Beach, and GT cars around Knockhill which is a very bumpy circuit tbh). Thank you!
You are spot on mate - this set of setting totally transforms the game for me. I've recently gotten fed up with AC and its terrible penalty system!! This has totally renewed my enthusiasm for sim-racing.
Me too, but with F1... I just got to a point where the career mode is too repetitive and online is full of plebs, I bought PC2 last night and the variety is there, but i didn't realise how much like a SIM this game was with customization and set ups etc. I always thought it was more like an arcade, had too change the FFB though after the go karts as my arms felt like they had fallen off. These files worked a treat. I wish the F1 games used a similar engine.

PC2 is the best sim package out there got mine for £25 with all DLC on a steam sale. Just changed out the txt file with the downloaded custom one, however my original file didn't have .txt at the end, so do I still need to save the custom one with .txt at the end or will it be fine without? Bit confused.

There is nothing at all wrong with standard FFB. We are talking about something that is a matter of personal preference, so there is no such thing as "good", "bad", "better", or "best".
This wont work for me? I did everything right according to your video, but the feedback dont feel any different? Changed it to custom in game but no change?
Curious to try this as everyone on the review page is saying "completely changes the experience" but to be honest, I REALLY love Jack spade's settings. So any improvement over that is welcome in my book
How do you feel these compare to Jack Spade's latest SopDiff? Are you using a DD wheel? Accuforce? Or Simucube? I know that in the past the Jack Spade files have been really geared at regular consumer grade wheels, and on 20-30nm DD motors, these 'effects' are unfortunately amplified in a not necessarily good light (road feel effects that feel cool on my old TX, are just constant vibration on the Simucube). Thanks for the video, I will give them a try.
I certainly will give it a go, but I doubt it will help the Sim to make it more realistic. The physics engine is what it is. I spent tons of hours with PCars2 and had a lot of fun. In terms of realism and correct physics there is a new & old star born though: iRacing with the tire model V7 - at the moment only with the "boring" slow Skip barber car, but WHAT a change! That is a new level of properly reproduced physics, letting every other Sim (including rfactor2, Automobilista, ACC, AC) looking very old, if only the graphics would be better! The shift from empirical modeling to physical modeling of the physics is a huge step. I just hope Kuno's will go in the same direction!
I think you have misunderstood a bit what physical modeling and empirical modeling means. Otherwise you would have realized that iRacing is one of the last simulators to finally go fully physical modeling on all components of the tires. As far as I know, ACC, rF2 (which was the first) and pC2 (already pC1 was a fully physical model.. pC2 just models even more detailed parts of the tire) have been physical models for quite a while. Heck, if you read the iRacing v7 tire model blog, Dave Kaemmer _almost_ confesses this very thing, basically stating that it's finally happening.. iRacing is going fully physical model which will finally take care of the weird tire physics and all those pesky heating problems. Still, having said that. Advanced tire model never equal good tire data or info. You can have super advanced tire model, for the time, and still suck like crazy.. iRacing "new" tire model iteration 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have demonstrated that very well. :-)

I looked on the RD page for this mod but couldn't find an explanation on the three different flavours in the download. I think some guidance would be helpful. I tried one of the flavours but still prefer Jack Spade's.on my G29. May try the others today. I know FFB is very subjective but leaving engine vibration in as the default also isn't my cup of tea.

i have a different question regarding “handling” do you have any ideas how some people take corners way more grippy then exemple me at the same speed my car doesn’t “stick” on the road as others?
Silviu Tudorescu it’s hard to say definitively, but it likely comes down to setup. If their camber angles are set better than yours, they would find more grip at the same speed
Mike, any idea which line might provide a bit more gear change shock into the wheel? Obviously there's a "Gearbox" line of code, just wondering if you personally had any idea what's possible to get that bang one gets when upshifting a paddle shifted vehicle. On another note, I'm pretty new to your content and wanted to thank you for the passion and thoughtfulness you bring to sim racing and for us enthusiasts.

Running the obvious risk of getting hated on here but.... any settings in original ffb menu IN GAME that'll get somewhere close to the feeling these give? I'm on a PS4 because my kids and work pattern don't realistically allow me to build a pc rig. Console and T300 is the best I can hope for.

I Tried the settings in this zip file, not a game changer at all... with 100% gain as recommended it felt light with less detail. I'm fully aware its a personal thing... I went back to my own in game settings. Flavour Immersive, Gain 85, Volume 52, Tone 80, FX 50 and in my Thrustmaster settings i have 85% strength. Works for me.
@@R1jerome I like pure feel flavour even smooth feel too, but i decreased engine vibration to 15 in the text file, 80% Master Gain in TS-PC Racer Control Panel and i can also on my wheel adjust Tone and FX with the two buttons TC2,TC1 for a fine tuning on each car. I love it with vintage cars like Group C (until RRE release!!) or with recent cars too, I get much more information from the wheel, so more fun and better results.
Andrew Moseley it’s funny, the road chatter is barely noticeable for me. You’re not the first person to ask that question to me, but honestly it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I did have to go with the smooth instead of the pure, though.
SimRacing604 I read where you said that you weren’t running a sim commander profile; I will have to try that. Combined with my normal profile, even the “smooth” feels like I’m driving on gravel.
Hey Mike Ohhhhh Sh@#$t My G920 just sprung to life ..I am using the pure File and wowww ..I have always liked PC2 before as I have told you but now with the Tobii Eyetracker and this FFB mod and the immersion and also great Ai plus a reasonable community I do not need ACC at all .. Right now its PC2 first then Assetto corsa with sol mod next.. My settings are Gain 100 Volume 45 Tone 55 Fx 25 The only cars that feel to wild but still awesome are the Chev Trans Am and mustang from the Vintage grouping ....You really feel the steering rack in those ..... Question ::: Does anyone know whether the Ford Falcoln v8 supercar is supposed to be light in the steering in real life or Heavy like the Chevrolet trans am... Thanks Hugo for this U are the man and the Creator of PC2 VER 2 FOR ALL OF US...SMS and Ian Bell need to Hire you ..My Basic G920 now feels like an Expensive piece of kit... It should work fine for PS4 too! Navigate to System/Documents/Project Cars 2 and drop the file of your choosing in. Rename it like he says in the video and restart the game. Kaboom!
Tried it yesterday and it certainly is an improvement (also compared to JS FFB files), but I race rF2 a lot and may be spoiled with that game’s FFB. ;-) My biggest issue though with PC2 still is tha AI, which is terribly inconsistent. So some ‘custom AI files’ would be welcome!
I’m gonna have to check this out. I played PCars2 for a year, pretty much exclusively. When it first came out I just powered through the crummy FFB that most cars had. There were so many cars in that title I just had to drive. I got used to it. Then one day I got back into rF2, iRacing and R3E and I couldn’t return to pCars2. It actually made me angry how bad the ffb is in that title....that and a broken system that picks the Ai cars for the grid. 3 classes in one race and half of each class is the same car. Unacceptable! Take a page from RaceRooms book SMS.
Its worth exploring the PC2 forum. Jack Spades FFB files have been around pretty much since launch and there is a free 3rd party app to set custom grids forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?56467-Custom-Grid-Tool-2-Custom-Grids-for-Solo-Quick-Race But it would definitely be good to have this feature inbuilt.
it's not your fault, but finally someone has stolen my own ffb script. There are parts of my own script inside there. It is sad because i spent so many hours, days and weeks of work in it, then someone made copy paste of it and mantioned my name nowhere. Just sad...

WhippyWhip Yes I don’t think they really got the car physics all that realistic. Although some of the cars are better than others. I feel that the engine that drives the physics should be scrapped in favour of a completely new physics engine. Let’s face it, realism is where the funs at.
@@tradesman1000 We should be thankful that we have a lot of sims to choose from and keep in mind that no sim is perfect. If we want, we can find disadvantages to all sims and we would play nothing.
Ok, so there it is... I wasted an hour of testing these settings yesterday... thx for nothing! The settings are a complete joke! It just lets the wheel rattle all the time, probably trying to imitate a "road feel" which it is NOT. Would a wheel vibrate IRL like that you either have a broken suspension or heavy engine damage. So I reduced the engine vibration effect to zero, but that did not really help. It still tries to give you feeling of wanna-be-proper-physics when in fact, there is none. Sorry, but after spending 1000s of hours in that Sim I give up. I also read some (quite arrogant) comments of the author on racedepartement which also show that he does not understand at all the relations between programmed physics and underlying models with FFB. Maybe it is some fun for people with low/mid-end wheels...
Is it me or is the AI screwed up in this game. At Road America they drive off into the grass and do all sorts of weird shit. Does anyone else see this?

For me they do nothing wrong at road america. Make sure that for tracks that you notice them crashing, turn down the aggressiveness slider to 50% or lower, it is essential
Would of been better if you showed an in game screen shot of the actual settings. Raw ? Tone ? Gain ? Etc etc you can only make changes in the ffb menu so why not just share the numbers instead of downloading a file etc
You haven't understood how it works. The custom file is another "flavour" of FFB to replace "Raw", "Informative" or "Immersive". You need the file - you can't just adjust the in-game settings.
This game has pissed me off to no end in the past , where I basically gave up on it. And most of that was because of the crappy FFB , with every single car. Huge dead center where I couldn't feel the road. I've tried every FFB mod available , and it still sucked. I have not tried this one , but will try again I guess. Still pissed I paid that much for a game , with FFB worse then Mario kart!
Sounds like your running the game on a potato ! And using Nintendo 64 controllers........ Theres nothing wrong with ProjectCars2 at all once you use the correct graphics settings and decent controllers , I.e Fanatec Elite stuff !
Is there any other racing title where there's so many modded FFB settings? 😒 Just shows how deficient PC2 in house FFB is and if the devs would have a bit of shame, they would fix pc2 instead of starting the PC3 hype. Just saying...
Do other sims allow custom FFB files? I think AC allows LUT files. Are there really that many modded FFB settings for PC2? I can only think of this or Jack Spades.
This game is garbage. Don't waste your time and money on this garbage. Poor steering wheel support, garbage driving physics, no sense of speed in VR mode and extremely boring career mode.

Otherwise you would have realized that iRacing is one of the last simulators to finally go fully physical modeling on all components of the tires. As far as I know, ACC, rF2 (which was the first) and pC2 (already pC1 was a fully physical model.. pC2 just models even more detailed parts of the tire) have been physical models for quite a while. Heck, if you read the iRacing v7 tire model blog, Dave Kaemmer _almost_ confesses this very thing, basically stating that it's finally happening.. iRacing is going fully physical model which will finally take care of the weird tire physics and all those pesky heating problems.
Still, having said that. Advanced tire model never equal good tire data or info. You can have super advanced tire model, for the time, and still suck like crazy.. iRacing "new" tire model iteration 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have demonstrated that very well. :-)

I looked on the RD page for this mod but couldn't find an explanation on the three different flavours in the download. I think some guidance would be helpful. I tried one of the flavours but still prefer Jack Spade's.on my G29. May try the others today. I know FFB is very subjective but leaving engine vibration in as the default also isn't my cup of tea.

i have a different question regarding “handling” do you have any ideas how some people take corners way more grippy then exemple me at the same speed my car doesn’t “stick” on the road as others?
Silviu Tudorescu it’s hard to say definitively, but it likely comes down to setup. If their camber angles are set better than yours, they would find more grip at the same speed

Mike, any idea which line might provide a bit more gear change shock into the wheel? Obviously there's a "Gearbox" line of code, just wondering if you personally had any idea what's possible to get that bang one gets when upshifting a paddle shifted vehicle.

any settings in original ffb menu IN GAME that'll get somewhere close to the feeling these give?
I'm on a PS4 because my kids and work pattern don't realistically allow me to build a pc rig. Console and T300 is the best I can hope for.

I Tried the settings in this zip file, not a game changer at all... with 100% gain as recommended it felt light with less detail. I'm fully aware its a personal thing... I went back to my own in game settings. Flavour Immersive, Gain 85, Volume 52, Tone 80, FX 50 and in my Thrustmaster settings i have 85% strength. Works for me.

@@R1jerome I like pure feel flavour even smooth feel too, but i decreased engine vibration to 15 in the text file, 80% Master Gain in TS-PC Racer Control Panel and i can also on my wheel adjust Tone and FX with the two buttons TC2,TC1 for a fine tuning on each car. I love it with vintage cars like Group C (until RRE release!!) or with recent cars too, I get much more information from the wheel, so more fun and better results.

Andrew Moseley it’s funny, the road chatter is barely noticeable for me. You’re not the first person to ask that question to me, but honestly it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I did have to go with the smooth instead of the pure, though.
SimRacing604 I read where you said that you weren’t running a sim commander profile; I will have to try that. Combined with my normal profile, even the “smooth” feels like I’m driving on gravel.

My G920 just sprung to life ..I am using the pure File and wowww ..I have always liked PC2 before as I have told you but now with the Tobii Eyetracker and this FFB mod and the immersion and also great Ai plus a reasonable community I do not need ACC at all ..
Right now its PC2 first then Assetto corsa with sol mod next..

The only cars that feel to wild but still awesome are the Chev Trans Am and mustang from the Vintage grouping ....You really feel the steering rack in those .....
Question ::: Does anyone know whether the Ford Falcoln v8 supercar is supposed to be light in the steering in real life or Heavy like the Chevrolet trans am...

It should work fine for PS4 too! Navigate to System/Documents/Project Cars 2 and drop the file of your choosing in. Rename it like he says in the video and restart the game. Kaboom!

Tried it yesterday and it certainly is an improvement (also compared to JS FFB files), but I race rF2 a lot and may be spoiled with that game’s FFB. ;-) My biggest issue though with PC2 still is tha AI, which is terribly inconsistent. So some ‘custom AI files’ would be welcome!

I’m gonna have to check this out. I played PCars2 for a year, pretty much exclusively. When it first came out I just powered through the crummy FFB that most cars had. There were so many cars in that title I just had to drive. I got used to it.
Then one day I got back into rF2, iRacing and R3E and I couldn’t return to pCars2. It actually made me angry how bad the ffb is in that title....that and a broken system that picks the Ai cars for the grid. 3 classes in one race and half of each class is the same car. Unacceptable! Take a page from RaceRooms book SMS.
Its worth exploring the PC2 forum. Jack Spades FFB files have been around pretty much since launch and there is a free 3rd party app to set custom grids

it's not your fault, but finally someone has stolen my own ffb script. There are parts of my own script inside there. It is sad because i spent so many hours, days and weeks of work in it, then someone made copy paste of it and mantioned my name nowhere. Just sad...

Yes I don’t think they really got the car physics all that realistic. Although some of the cars are better than others. I feel that the engine that drives the physics should be scrapped in favour of a completely new physics engine. Let’s face it, realism is where the funs at.

Ok, so there it is... I wasted an hour of testing these settings yesterday... thx for nothing! The settings are a complete joke! It just lets the wheel rattle all the time, probably trying to imitate a "road feel" which it is NOT. Would a wheel vibrate IRL like that you either have a broken suspension or heavy engine damage.
So I reduced the engine vibration effect to zero, but that did not really help. It still tries to give you feeling of wanna-be-proper-physics when in fact, there is none. Sorry, but after spending 1000s of hours in that Sim I give up.
I also read some (quite arrogant) comments of the author on racedepartement which also show that he does not understand at all the relations between programmed physics and underlying models with FFB.
Maybe it is some fun for people with low/mid-end wheels...

Is it me or is the AI screwed up in this game. At Road America they drive off into the grass and do all sorts of weird shit. Does anyone else see this?

They do seem prone to doing this at Road America. They seem to be better at other tracks.
For me they do nothing wrong at road america. Make sure that for tracks that you notice them crashing, turn down the aggressiveness slider to 50% or lower, it is essential
Would of been better if you showed an in game screen shot of the actual settings. Raw ? Tone ? Gain ? Etc etc you can only make changes in the ffb menu so why not just share the numbers instead of downloading a file etc
You haven't understood how it works. The custom file is another "flavour" of FFB to replace "Raw", "Informative" or "Immersive". You need the file - you can't just adjust the in-game settings.
This game has pissed me off to no end in the past , where I basically gave up on it. And most of that was because of the crappy FFB , with every single car. Huge dead center where I couldn't feel the road. I've tried every FFB mod available , and it still sucked. I have not tried this one , but will try again I guess. Still pissed I paid that much for a game , with FFB worse then Mario kart!
Sounds like your running the game on a potato ! And using Nintendo 64 controllers........ Theres nothing wrong with ProjectCars2 at all once you use the correct graphics settings and decent controllers , I.e Fanatec Elite stuff !

Do other sims allow custom FFB files? I think AC allows LUT files. Are there really that many modded FFB settings for PC2? I can only think of this or Jack Spades.
