Lauren acting this season gives me goosebumps everytime! fun fact: she had conjunctivitis because of all the crying scenes lol And about Linda's pregnancy: Rachael was really pregnant and they decided to add to the story. The best decision I think!
Lauren is incredible! Bad times about the eye infection. Loooove that they did that for Rach
The axe scene is one of my fav Deckerstar scenes in this season. It is so emotional and was done so well by the both of actors 👍👏🔥💞
Fun fact that Linda's pregnancy wasn't on script, the actress was really pregnant during the filming. It was unexpected so writers decided to put it into the story
Fun fact: the girl with the computer that Amenadiel asked what she was writing. The girl was one of the showrunners, her name is Ildy Modrovich. Also next episode is definitely a roller coaster of emotions.
As painful as it was, Chloe's reaction felt very genuine. She found out that the man she fell in love with was an actual devil. And although Lucifer has always told her the truth, finding out that all this really exists is a lot. At times like this, everyone has the right to get scared, doubt everything he has ever believed in, and be easily manipulated by someone like father Kinley. Chloe, of course, still had her doubts and wasn't sure what was true or what was a lie. The sight of Lucifer leaving the burning building confused her even more. After all, she had seen him bleed and be injured more than once. How is it possible that nothing happened to him this time? With that in mind Chloe began to believe that Lucifer was actually manipulating her all the time. Only learning the truth that she's making him vulnerable allowed her to make the final (good) decision.
Nobody blames her for losing her shit. It just annoys me she lost it and went to the Vatican for answers where a freaking angel named amanediel is right there 😑 the last time she was this stupid she almost married Cain himself after knowing him just for a few months. She even asks him if he eats children, meanwhile Trixie still alive in the next room after all this time. The fear is understandable, her actions are not. She almost poisoned him.
@@anycullen21 Actually Amenadiel wasn't there. He was in the Silver City. And like I said, she definitely didn't think stright. Her entire life turned upside down.
@@anycullen21 AMENADIEL WAS IN HEAVEN! with Charlotte for two months, same time Chloe was in Vatican. lol. and also she just found out that Lucifer was the devil. How would she know Amenadiel was an angel? and even if she knew he was an angel, why would she talk to him? she was freaking terrified of Lucifer, why go to another celestial who might also be lying to her, What she needed was another human who could understand her point of view and that was Linda. She didn't know that Linda already knew that Lucifer was the devil and Chloe was scared af.

@@anycullen21 apart from Amenadiel not being around at the time and Chloe not really knowing what part he has in the whole 'celestial world'... she was just terrified and talking to the person you are scared of (or their brother) doesn't work in this case! She wanted to find facts to make up her mind and the only place to find out about heaven, hell, the devil,... is in religion (it's not like there is a science book on it)! This priest showed up immediately after she saw Luci and was crazy confused/scared and he took advantage of that and manipulated her for a month (and he was the only one she could talk to, since she didn't know Linda knew). In my opinion her struggle is shown (and portrayed) perfectly, she is torn between the person she knows and what everyone (and all the books, articles) say about him... and she doesn't know what to believe!!
Even if one is not a religious person, meeting the real devil face to face, I'm assuming would change one's mind about the existence of God and Heaven.

Chloe didn't turn to religion, she asked herself, "Where is the best place to go to research the Devil?" To which she answered, "The Vatican Library."
@@eddiegaltek the Vatican, who breeded religious fanatics for centuries, started bloody wars for personal power disguised in the name of God, ordered ppl to be burned alive for witchcraft. There are libraries with stories on religions, theses no need to break bread with a priest, and tell him personal stuff on a guy you may or may not know if he's evil or not.
Linda saw his face, she actually fucked the guy, but she didn't grab the pitchforks to kill him. For smo as smart as Chloe thinks she is, she was very easily manipulated. Hell it took her just a couple of month to sleep with Cain himself 😒 She knows Maze is a demon, and Lucifer has a brother, which makes amanediel an angel, that's the closest to heaven she can get, ask him. Not priests who claim to serve God, but the vast majority of them have always proven they serve a corrupt institution that's lost the way of God centuries ago.
@@anycullen21 Why would she think Amanediel was an angel? Lucifer is the Devil, the embodiment of all that is evil. He and Amanediel seem to be best mates, that would make Amanediel a daemon not an Angel; so why would she talk to him?
@@eddiegaltek cuz he calls him brother, and complains all the time by their common dear old Dad aka God. Maze never calls amanediel brother. So following that logic he's not a demon. The problem with Chloe is that she chose to ignore everytime lucifer talked abt family, cuz she thought it was all metaphors.
She lived with a demon who could've killed her and Trixie however she wanted, instead chose to play with the kid, and helped Chloe get justice for her father's killer. That alone should tell her smths not right with this guy's story based on a book written by men claimed to be the word of god
the axe scene was one of the best and most beautiful scenes in this show. I cried when I first watched it.
I still cry when I see it. I've come to accept it at this point. 🤷♂

Same, I'm not religious at all and don't think any of it is real, but if had the proof standing right in front of me there wouldn't really be any point trying to deny it.
I reckon with axe guy Chloe was letting him talk and think he had the upper hand - she knew he'd brought an axe to a gunfight and so she just let him incriminate himself knowing she had the advantage (but for sure, the meta reason is the writers needed Lucifer to put himself in harm's way for her). Good episode this one, lots occurring.
(one of the little bits I love is when Linda tells Amenadiel she's pregnant and the woman who's been chatting him up slowly "Exits stage left" in the background - the actress has like 2 lines but she plays that moment to perfection IMO)
When Chloe says I'm sorry, she's apologizing for so much more than the Ax
Chloe's _"I'm sorry",_ in my opinion, was for more than just causing him to bleed with the axe.
This is the beginning of the theme of this season, which I call _"Chloe's Redemption"._

9:15 every season Lucifer would put himself in harm's way to protect Chole (1st season with Malcolm, 2nd season literally going to hell, 3rd season-ending with his wings, and now in front of a flying axe), so he already did protect Chole again and again.
I always wonder how much Chole knows about Lucifer's sacrifices for her in the past at this point.

I get that Chloe wasn't religious before, but now that she KNOWS it is real, and that God and the Devil exists, I don't find it strange that she would turn to religious texts and religious leaders for answers and guidance. It is only natural that it would make her do so, and that she is questioning everything she THOUGHT she knew before she was proven wrong about this one GIANT thing. As an atheist I would LIKE to think I would be more open minded and believe in the man I had come to know and love, but I can't be sure I would. I mean, there is just SO much baggage that comes with the terms "the Devil" and "Hell" that it would probably be hard to not at least be a little scared and questioning how the monster everyone makes the Devil out to be fits with the man you love, and whether a lot it was an act or a lie on his part.
All in all, even if I WOULD turn out to act less fearfully, and doubt less than Chloe, I would still in NO way blame her for her reaction. It breaks my heart to see her questioning what she has with Lucifer, and even contemplating sending helping to send him back to hell, but I understand where she is coming from. And in the end she chose to believe in Lucifer, and that he IS indeed the man she has come to love instead of some secret monster from the religious books. Her love for Lucifer was ultimately stronger than her fear of the Devil 🧡
I would turn to religious books as well, just to know smth and what I'm dealing with, but I would never trust a priest with smth like this. First of all, it's not her secret to tell. 2nd doesn't she know the church has burned ppl alive for far less than claiming to be the Devil?? Go to a library, plenty of 📚 abt the devil everywhere, there's no need to trust a institution who has started wars in to clean humanity from "evil". I'm atheist too, I won't dismiss there might be powers out there I won't ever understand, but the churches God will never be my God. Everytime religion gets involved, evolution loses points. She actually took the poison and was abt to do it. That is proof enough. He deserves better than that ffs. When he found out she was a miracle baby, he didn't try to kill her. The worst he did was avoid her.
@@anycullen21 well, Priests WOULD be the supposed experts about theological things in a situation where you found out everything you didn't think were real WAS. Not saying there isn't plenty of reasons to distrust religious institutions, and I HOPE I would be as sensible as you describe. Just showing some empathy and compassion, and acknowledging that while Chloe didn't react in an ideal way she did the best she could, and her reaction is at least UNDERSTANDABLE and HUMAN, even if it can be frustrating to watch as a viewer.
her reaction washarmless until father kinley manipulated her. so if he was out of the picture, Chloe of course would not poison Lucifer but I also don't think they'll get back to their normal intimacy.
@@anycullen21 you mix real life to this fiction sho lol. so in their universe, The Vatican is trustworthy... and she didn't tell Lucifer's secret, Father Kinley knew Chloe and approached her. He told her he knew Lucifer and made Chloe believe they were the only ones who knew about Lucifer's real identity. Did you even watched season 4 or you're just hating on Chloe???
kill her for being a gift??? as if Chloe knows anything about that. Why would he kill her for being a miracle? Killing Chloe for being a miracle baby and sending the devil back to hell is not a logical analogy.
@@anycullen21 she didn't tell the priest he already knew and she didn't go to him she was researching and he approached her!!! And of course the most information on hell, heaven, the devil is found in religion!
Why should Luci kill her for being a gift??? It's not like that makes her a bad person or a danger to the world (he is vulnerable around her, but he could just stay clear of her if that's what he wanted)
And on top of all that Luci's a good person, but he also has a dark side, he really killed Pierce and he really ran hell (where people are tortured) and he really talks about wanting to punish people (who then end up in the nut house like that guy from the pilot)... it's shown how conflicted she is about all this, she just doesn't know what to believe and is scared out of her mind!
I found it weird too that cloe went to the church for answers because why would you go to Lucifer's enemies for "clarity"?
The only reason I blamed Chloe for the issues of the season was because of her ignoring her instincts and ignoring what Lucifer was saying. He gave her so many chances to back out of the date and she made sure the date happened, in police terms that's entrapment, not evidence of a crime

I know I'm late for this comment, but I've heard almost every reactor say this and just wanted to say...
For the axe throw scene, yes chloe has a gun, but it was on her holster
By the time she gets her gun, the axe probably would have been thrown anyway so the "axe throwing is slower than guns" conversation is useless.
The only reason Deckerstar didn't get hurt is because the axe throw was very inaccurate (or the axe did hit lucifer and made the trajectory change, which i doubt)
I call that _"the scream heard 'round the world"._ Can't have Lucifer go back to hell in the _wrong_ way ...

I don't belive Lucifer can be forced back to hell with some potion. I mean even Amenadiel Gods finest couldn't sent him back, but a random priest with a poison can?! Also if they can send Lucy back to hell what stops him from comming back again
Chloe is the main reason he stays on earth. If she is involved in sending him back to hell, it's possible that he would feel betrayed and not want to return.
If Lucifer dies he does go back to hell, and he is vulnerable when near Chloe so poison will work just as well as bullet which already sent him back once.
Coming back would probably be the betrayal explanation.
The next two episodes are the ones I just can't... Anyway, brace yourself!

This seasons arc really tries to point out how the various churches in the western world tried their darndest to get the series cancelled
Even had a minor falling out with my parents who are avid church goers, who steadfastly refuse to accept even the merest possibility that reality and fiction are seperate, and that the message of the show is NOT “glorifying the devil”
It’s the same reason why when on trains or costed in the street by preachers - “what are your beliefs?”
“My beliefs are my own. Why would you ask?”
“Don’t you care if your believing the right thing?”
“That you ask THAT shows clearly you aren’t the followers of the “right” thing…as you have closed your minds through BLIND OPTIMISM faith, as opposed to open eyed tested faith…”
Simply put, religion claims to be about bringing people together, but it’s one of the most divisive and polarising forces in the world…because people automatically default into “if you don’t agree with me then you are followers of evil
Whereas me, I do believe there is “something” beyond this life…what specifically…I’ll find out when I cross that threshold, then I’ll see what the answer is rather than fighting like children over who is correct when in all probability we’ve ALL got it wrong…so why dispute it?
