  • In the centre of Budapest, located in Vörösmarty Square, is Café Gerbeaud, one of the most emblematic places in the city with more than 165 years of history. Founded in 1858 by Henrik Kugler and brought to international fame by the Swiss master pastry chef Emil Gerbeaud at the end of the 19th century, this café is not only the oldest in the Hungarian capital, but also, along with Café New York, one of the most elegant in Europe. Its classic décor, with chandeliers and cherry wood furniture, takes its visitors back to the 19th century.
A café where the pastries, the history and the fine architectural details of the place will be appreciated. Join me on a new tour and get to know the Gerbeaud café: the oldest and most elegant café in Budapest.
