Hey, I wonder about how much do u way boss ? I'm 6'5 and weigh 200ish ... But I can't get my shoes to squish like you do is there a trick to that honestly curious 🤔
Love the comparisons here. Have you ever thought of giving us a "top 10 most under rated silhouettes" from across the board of all manufacturers? I think there are some very nice shoes from a lot of manufacturers that people just don't rock cause they aren't as hyped, but they look and feel fantastic!
Lol well those of us that like under rated sneakers like to keep them that way. That's how you separate yourself from the mainstrem crowd. It's not about being contrarian really, it's just understanding that when too many people find out, it ruins the vibe.
@@Munchie85 the most popular asics model right now is Kayano 14, how could it not?? when yeezy/jordan was hot dad shoes were a smaller wave, but everyone only paid attn to NB, i'm surprised it took till these last few years for asics to get some limelight, and yet not so surprising at same time. obvious choice cause it looks great, it's on trend, tons of CW options out there--but personally the less popular and less expensive NY and 1130 still got similar vibe, more low key. in the hypebeast era 2016-2020, dad shoes were on the rise and you could stand out if you grabbed some new balance 990s, but i had my eyes on the Vomeros which only had about 5 colorways in total at that point, no surprise in 2023 they are very popular. perfect mix if vintage style and tech vibes. Nike Air Terra Humera is a model I have my eye on in the Olive cw. Model has potential, all the layers have great color blocking potential if done right, but could be wrong. The black and white initial pairs just dont do it justice, maybe i because I'm not a fan of tonal colorways, but the olive pair coming soon really makes use of all the color ways and the blocking is done right. tough to say if this style has legs, probably not, but it's different. A model that Nike brought back from the grave was the FreeRun 2 which was a cult classic for gym folks, so much great color way potential, but they aren't very popular now so doesn't get any collabs or heavy investment by nike. I'm really curious if Nike can bring in some old or new models that aren't dad shoe centric, they're catalog is so deep i'm sure there's something I don't know about that looks great. New Balance 9060 has a similar Vintage (upper) and Techy (mid/outsole) vibe, but I think it skews a little too much techy which is already filled by the luxury brands like balenciaga and similar. The model is getting so many nice colorways that i think in a few years it will be viewed as a sleeper pick, it's just hard for it to be popular now because the techy niche is saturated. I personally am attracted to this model, but it just doesn't feel like the right time to wear them. The 997H and 997S have great potential, but I don't think they will be popular till a few more years when people really sick of dad shoes. The outsole is a little too sport centric when everything is dad shoe/vintage centric, but they have released and still releasing great colorways that may be great for later. i'm hoping non-big name brands (Nike, adidas, NB, Asics, etc) make a splash, and I think some already have, especially in the european market. @@paradigmshift7541 I saw your edited response. I feel like NB 997 are like airmax 1 where they never go outta style but you don't catch everyone wearing em. I successfully experimented with waterproofing my V5s. Granted they were dark blue, so no signs of discoloration. But I can actually wear them in the rain!
Great video! Big fan of all 990 series, can’t go wrong with any series, I have one of some of each model. Most stylish v2, most comfortable v5, all around best if you only want one or two 990 I would go with 990v3 or v6.
V4 and V5 are the most comfortable for me. Design wise, I like the V3, V4 and V5. V6 is ok, but I can‘t find the right size for me. Edit: the V5 had a few collabs. There was aone with dtlr, if I’m not mistaken and then there were slow steady club versions.
I have the v3 and v6 love them both. It the v6 is definitely more comfortable. My v3 have started to separate the upper and the midsole. Kinda disappointed being made in USA I had higher hopes
Unpopular opinion, but I prefer the look of the ‘90s runners like the 998 and 990v2. I’m also planning to buy the 992 and 991v2 after loving the 991. I plan to try the 990v3 and 990v4 at some point, but damn there’s a lot of shoes to check out!
this video could not have had much better timing lol! I literally dug out my V4 from storage after 4-5 years, my NB 1080 and Yeezy 350 started ripping so I was looking for a pair of sneakers to wear as my new daily’s. Personally V1 are my favorite and if I had to pick a modern pair V3 and V4 are a close second
The 990v3 runs wide? Does this mean I should purchase a standard 990v3? Can you specify and explain. It’s been a journey with the 990’s finding the right size.
I admit, never thought I'd own NBs. Picked up my FIRST pair last Spring, 992 Gray pick up and holy hell...still the best fitting, comfortable sneaker I own. Since then I've grabbed 990V3, V5, V6...few 2002r and the newer 9060. Amazing sneaker!
Great video Hes! I’ve got a pair of 990v4’s. I went true to size and they fit nicely. I like the look of the V1, V3, and I’m interested in trying a V6. I think the V4 is better suited for collaborations and varied colorways where the V1 and V3 look great in the original gray colorway. The V3 does have a lot of great colorways and collaborations as well.
Funny thing is the V3 (or maybe V6) is my least favorite. In terms of looks, I just think its over done and has the most (negative) dad-shoe look. My personal order goes V2> V5> V1> V4> V3=V6 ...The V6 is also just on the wrong side of the dad-show look for me (too bulky for me). I do however love the line and am a big New Balance fan. The 998 is still my favorite sneaker of all time.
Got og at that time and it always on sale.cost only $100. Not like this time. Even I got 1500.9 which is bottom of 990V3 and 1500 uper which was on shelf outlets for only $80 back to 3or 4 years ago in Australia. But now as popular in all world, no more chance to stolen like that price tag.
I think the v3 is the "ugliest" chunkiest version, it may have the most collaborations but it doesn't stand up on it's own. v4 streamlined it a bit and makes it a more clean aesthetic silhouette.
Ive always had NB make me question my shoe size cause Im a 10.5 to 11 in most shoe brands (and while I can get away with a 10.5 in NB) I tend to prefer a solid size 10 in most New Balance models
990v3, v4 and v6 for me so far. Think it's the v3 that the tongue slips to the outside? Drives me crazy! Went true to size for v3 and v4 but went half a size down for Carhartt v6, sort of regret it but it's not awful. Like you, I like the wiggle room in the toe box, but I caved to NB's recommendation... Definitely will be going for the triple black v6's I keep seeing too
990v3 is my favorite looking model but the tongue slipping sideways kills the model for me i have to think twice before wearing some. 990v6 for sure the most comfortable for me

Made in America 990 v4 is the best. V5 was such a disappointment, the heal slips and the plastic band digs in.

990v2 for me. ❤
My favorite model is the v5. But i currently wear v4
I’ve had to size half size down in the 990 v3 Kith Daytona . Might be a Kith thing though
I wear a size 9 but in any 990 series I wear an 8.5 because it feels like a size 9. If I wear a size 9 then it’ll feel like a 9.5.
v5 had a collab with ALD. it was blue and green. grail
Got the v3 and its really comfortable

Adidas really ranges somewhere between 2 sizes. One model on one and the other on the other size. They just can't have 1 size for everything.
For Nike, Puma, NB it's always the same size.
Jordan retros seem to be a tiny bit longer, so those I often go half size down. And AF1 half size down.

Depends on taste and foot shape..
For my feet, v3 is best. They are most comfortable to me.
V5 is not so comfortable to me. It's a little more flat and it has more need for the insole and has less comfort in the midsole.
2002r is also extremely comfortable.
When people ask me to recommend sneakers I usually day 990v3 and when they say, those are too expensive.. 2002r.
