Thank you for both of the walkthroughs. Very interesting product. I still find myself needing a similar capability for USB A to USB C cables. Do you think a male C to female A adapter will work on this device, and therefore allow A to C cables to be tested?
Adapters are always thins kind of weird. Some of them feature internal resistors, some are out of spec and generally their behavior can not be guaranteed. There is a simpler version, the A2C caberQU for testing USB-A to USB-C cables though.
Yeah that's the thing with Apple. They sell the charging cable as USB-C, but they also sell a much more expensive data cable which is Thunderbolt. That one does support those standards as well as USB 40 Gbps iirc. I guess the main advantage is you know you're getting a quality cable at high prices whereas although you might get a cable rated to do USB 3 or 4 data as well as high charging wattage from some random gobbledygook Chinese brand for a low price, it could just as easily be a scam.

I need that tester 😭
On another subject, when will those cable makers switch to ultra flexible silicone instead of the braided stuff ??
There actually are silicone isolated cables, I haven't seen any with reasonable data speeds though.
wont send to Brazil....
It does, not not worry ;D
@@quiescentcurrent I just tried. sites does not work, and there's a conflict between kickstarter and the site.
