    I understood exactly what Candice meant and i think she actually explained herself well in the end. Leave it up to the worst offenders gizzy, robot and ashy to purposely disagree and try and use it against her.

    This convo needed a moderator. Candice isn't wrong, just because people chime in and chant "shame" doesn't make what she's saying any less valid.

    Colorism isn't hard to prove in a group that labels an assault victim as "antagonistic".

    Since I'm not a person of dark or brown skin (although I'm Mexican) I don't consider myself in the position to give a more stomped opinion, but... she says white looking, not white. I understood that her intention is to imply that her biracial (color) is tending to white so she could feel protected by doing something wrong to Chris. And yes, there's a lot of colorism portraying better Gizelle and Robyn, and portraying as worst to Candace and Wendy, that should be said.

    • @andrescastaneda7178
      @andrescastaneda7178 Год назад +27

      She then said, "your proximity to whiteness", that's what colorism is about. She is not wrong, she clarified it.

    Candiace didn't go too far. You open this door and you get the beast. And I'm disappointed in Wendy. That should have been a private chat with Candiace because Gizelle deserved every bit of that. Maybe she'll think twice about lying next time.

    • @snowball-universe
      @snowball-universe Год назад +3

      I think Wendy was trying to help Candiace see that because she knows that it was still a derogatory thing to say, even though it was said in anger while being valid at the same time.

      @@snowball-universe NOTHING Candiace said was derogatory, cut the crap. She stated pure stone cold FACTS. Gizelle has proximity to Whiteness, given her light skin, blonde hair and green eyes, looking very ambiguous, very Mixed, and she utilizes her lightskin/White adjacent privilege to get away with being a heinous, lying, conniving, sinister, salacious, slanderous wretch, knowing she'll receive FAR less of a reaction for her antics than someone, like Candiace, would, given how Candiace was CHASTISED for her low budget diss to Mia about her mom, yet Gizelle was NEVER reprimanded by ANYBODY on the show even HALF as much as Candiace was and unlike Gizelle, Candiace didn't spew lies or make up stories, but Gizelle REGULARLY does that and faces NO consequences, BECAUSE of her complexion privilege in this very colorist, pro lightskin society we live in. And, its always privileged lightskin women who deny their privilege while KNOWING they'd never wanna trade places with darkskin women and KNOW that they're more excused for their crap than darkskin women are. So, no, NOTHING Candiace said was derogatory, so stop frivolously throwing that word around, cause you don't even know WTF you're talking about.

    I understand what she is saying... ppl of dark skin get outed and lighter skin ppl sum time have an advantage certain situations what she is saying is because her saying mean things about people with her lighter skin is more believable than when a black woman says it and from being on that show clearly tell that they single out the dark skin from the light skin meaning because Monique was darker she was banished from the group but when Mia did that to windy it was okay and then are dark-skinned eyes that's me that is because I skin is darker than the persons that were into it with like it's not okay right is right wrong is wrong but lighter skin have always had the privilege to be welcomed me and write in certain situations where the dark skin women have always been treated as an ugly intelligent and not deserving to be in a place of other people or skin so you got to open your eyes to see it to understand it

    So sadly this may not show because of the filter, but in the original from this moment onward, for the rest of the reunion you can tell that Gizelle was pressed by Candiace's comment. The amount of hate in her eyes as she stares dead faced ahead was almost chilling. In my mind I like paint a scene that may have actually happened and they may have just cut it out, but in my mind I picture:
    Candiace: Hey you. Yeah. You.
    Gizelle: (looks at Candiace with disgust)
    Candiace: That anger you feel. The anger I can see in your eyes, that's the same thing I have been feeling for the past 10 months. You are not my friend. Don't call me, don't come near me, don't even say mine or my husband's name ever again. YOU are dead to me.
    Andy: Wow...any response to that Gizelle?
    Gizelle: That's fine. She can feel how she wants.
    Andy: Alright.

    The problem was Candiace crowbarred that in. She’s saying that Gizelle’s proximity to whiteness allows her to make allegations, as Candiace puts it, without consequences. So then does Chris’s proximity to whiteness allow him to stand in a position of instant believability? Because that’s what happened. If it was Gordon being “accused”, would he have been as Teflon as Chris? Candiace took the point she made prior and devalued it.

    • @deandreflowers5732
      @deandreflowers5732 Год назад +9

      The difference is they showed EVIDENCE that Chris was being lied on all season. It is also hard to maintain credibility when you continuously change your story, which they also showed Gizelle lying ass doing throughout the season

    • @GlenDivo

      But two things can be true. Chris' actual whiteness may make her more believable and Gizelle's proximity to whiteness will make her look more like a victim, in this and many other circumstances. I am not sure how her point was devalued just because it could apply to her husband. She didn't just believe him right away. She asked questions and got no real answer, and all the evidence throughout the season, proved his innocence. At the end of the season, we're not just looking a white man and a light-skinned woman. We're looking at a man who has been lied on and a woman who refuses to take accountability and who feels protected on this show because of all the privileges she holds, including her beauty and color.

    • @xiamariansupreme72
      @xiamariansupreme72 7 месяцев назад

      Chris' Whiteness is irrelevant here, as he's not weaponizing it to stand above anybody, unlike GizHELL, who KNOWINGLY wields her lightskin privilege to get off the hook with being a disparaging, blatant lie telling, conniving coward, knowing her complexion and societal conventional beauty both save her from getting fully chastised for her revolting antics, so please STFU. Chris has proof on his side, being that GizHELL said, on camera at the start of season 7, to Candiace, how SHE suggested talking in her room and Chris agreed, because she thought her glam team was still there, before then accusing Chris of only agreeing, because he knew her team was gone, which paints him as a predator who tries getting women alone with derogatory intent!
