Hey guys! A couple of things:
    1. This video was edited in another editing software (davinxi resolve) so it took me a looooong time and thats ehy a lot of things are different
    2. To the headphone users, I'm so sorry about the audio 😭
    3. The black guinea pig is NOT our guinea pig, he's a piggy we were petsitting
Hope you guys still enjoy it 😅 I spent 3 weeks editing it

I’ve had Guinea pigs all my life. My most recent was a rescue who was living in a wire bird cage 1 x 2 feet, had bad calluses on his pads. He surprisingly isn’t afraid at all from day 1. His buddy I got from a rescue place, he had a friend at his former home, but he was very skittish. It’s taken him a better part of 9+ months to be relaxed. Different personalities, different experiences…tons of patience and understanding. At their own pace. Not to mention they are tiny and delicate, pet gently.

Getting guinea pigs was the best thing I have ever done. They are my best friends and I love them so much.

It took me years to realize the right way to approach my piggies to be able to pet them and most important was learning how to lightly pet them. I've got fast hands and strong fingers, so getting to a point where I could give the right style pets took far too long for me. I keep my piggie's cage off the floor and right next to my desk so I am building trust by just being there and able to watch them. Also it's crucial to know that it's all about habits that you have to form from the start and work at every day. My youngest was brought home in my hand (didn't want to transport her in a small, closed box plus wanted to start from day one that it's okay to be picked up) and I spent at least 5-10 minutes a day bringing her out to keep building on that trust. The older one never really got used to it but would trust me enough to slowly reach my hand into the cage (on the side of them and slowly approach) and give her pets.
