Buddy functionality idea / introduction of “bottle caps”: What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the buddied Pokémon were to find a bottle cap where, when applied, would increase or decrease the buddy’s IVs by 1. For this idea, let’s say the Km needed to “find a bottle cap” were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV change. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. The same math would be applied to reduce IVs for PVP Pokemon. In addition to finding bottle caps with your buddy walking, perhaps they could be found in other activities by your buddy. Such as spinning stops/ raids/ gym battling / etc. This would also be EXTREMELY rare. To avoid problems with caught 100%s, the stat changes could be visibly different than normal stats with the following: * a notation on the Pokémon screen * different colored IVs showing a bottle cap was applied * the CP of these bottle capped Pokémon would be -1 of actual 100%s or PVP IVed caught Pokémon * the 100% bottle capped would not be searchable with 4* but would have a search just for “bottle capped.” Pros: - This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon. - Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex. - Allows all types of players to get 100%s while also not flooding the player base with actual 100%s. Cons: - All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough - The need to catch all Pokémon would be reduced slightly If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! i've only ever caught 6 terrakion luckily one was hundo oh and just to clarify i think double kick made sacred sword a much more powerful move and improved virizion and cobalion no end as well. really felt those roggenrola transfers since it was my first shundo i've gotten ever on it's comm day.

I had a water type mega out and caught a terrakion and still got more candy because I had a mega evolved. I was so confused lol, but this makes sense now

Even from a business standpoint, I really don't see how this is profitable. Instead of having people all over the world play the game and buy items/tickets, they're limiting their profits to a very select group of people who can travel to the in-person events?

Terrakion is very not fun to catch and my first 63 raids I got 1 shiny. Then got 2 shinys back to back one is 12/14/15, then did 2 skarmory raids after and got a shiny on the 2nd one. Going to wait for 14th for raid dinner hour. Glad to see terrakion is not just making me suffer, GOODLUCK!
I don't mean to add salt to the wound, but I did my first terrakion raid ever and got its shiny right away (sort of like deoxys). Some people are just lucky in specific ways I guess 🤷♂️

Terrakion is by far the hardest legendary to catch in a while

The reason you couldn’t get it was because it wasn’t raid hour so it was shiny locked until the 14
