Great video! I like the fact that you've shown how each headstock repair is a bit unique, depending on the type & severity of the break and if someone has tried to fix the guitar before.
Seems to be a common problem with Gibson Guitars. I am a Fender Fan but have owned Gibsons in the past. Never had a broken neck in a Gibson I have owned. Great job on the fix.
A guitar body of mine had a crack like that around the neck pocket. This crack went pretty straight anyway (alder wood), so I spread it a little, then drilled 2 holes of 1mm as deep as I could go, and I injected thinned Titebond as deep as possible with a syringe and a very fine injection needle. It's now an absolutely rocksolid piece of wood again 👍
I acquired a PRS 408 wood library edition about 6 years ago. I was playing and my little girl was sitting on the bed listening and me being the smart guy that i sat it down on the bed and walked out of the room and i heard a loud thump... Kiddo kicked it off the bed, but i was very lucky that it didn't get damaged but strong all the headstock repairs reminds me to never leave it laying around unwatched
You'd think that a guitar so flawed that an entire cottage industry has risen just to repair the same defect over and over might effect the value and viability of that brand... Instead, Gibson's are the most over prices guitars on the market.
I bet you you can’t remember the number of Gibson headstocks you have done over the years . Great work as always sir 😊
You got that right!
great repair without going overboard for a player.. nice job.. love these vids.. guitars need love over the years..
Glad you like them!

Great point! Each repair is a little different !
Would your rather fix a Gibson head stock break or reset the neck on a vintage Gibson acoustic guitar?🤔
Headstock. They're easier! LOL!

Your lucky. I repair more Gibson headstocks than anything else! Thanks!
I feel so fortunate to have owned a Gibson SG for about 12 years without ever breaking the headstock.
Are you sure it's a Gibson??? :)

You got lucky! I very very rarely see PRS breaks though. I'm guessing its because of the shallow headstock angle.
I like a low-pressured air hose to send the glue even deeper. I'd give a pinky toe to be working there with y'all. Peace.
Good idea! Yes, it's a nice and busy shop with several skilled luthiers!
Another great repair done. Thanks for the video
Our pleasure!
I have done my share of Gibson Headstock repairs, on Les Paul’s,Sgs and Grabber basses (over 10)
Ahhh yes. It's a daily staple here in the shop! Thank you Gibson!
@@dougmaccormack9485 Wrong... It's "Thank you careless people". Blame the person who let the bull in, not the china shop... LOL
Great Job Laddie!
Thanks!
Great work, congratulations!
Thank you! Cheers!
Loving the videos!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed them !
Proverbs 22:29 Great work as always, sir!!
I appreciate that
Subbed. Good stuff.
Thank you! I subbed your channel as well!
Good show!
Thanks Paul!
That's nice work there mate. And I'm a guitar tech too (with a small channel). Are those Stew Mac dyes water based or alcohol based? Cheers.
Stewmac. I suspect the Transtint company makes them for stewmac but not 100% sure.
They will mix with alcohol, water, epoxy, wood glue, fish glue, nitrocellulose lacquer, 2k
Hypodermic needle and syringe works perfectly for getting glue into cracks
Yes they do. I ran out and need to order more. For those who do not have those resources, this method works well in a pinch.
And a small suction cup helps pump the glue into the crack.
My SG ALSO CRACKED AT THE VERY SAME PLACE WHAT A SHAME ON GIBSON.MINE IS A 2004 FADED
It's save-able! Welcome to the Gibson broken headstock club!
He'll bring it back when he breaks it again. lol. Great job, I bet you have kitties.
I do!
Genial
Most of the time :)

TRUTH!
2 Cor 5:17 a new creation all things become new : the Christ IN you.
Yes indeed! Amen! The ring was smelted from the old ones and new ones were created for our new union which for whom we are equally yoked in Christ.
