Fascinating. What a beast! That is meant as a compliment. If you have ever seen a modern-day crocodile's power taking down a wildebeest at a river's edge, it would be hard to imagine the power that Sarcosuchus must have had. Thank you for featuring Sarcosuchus.
I don't know. The narrow snout looks like something more fit for catching fish. Probably ate whatever they could catch but I would say something like a deinosuchus, with its really robust skull, is better fit for ambushing dinosaurs. The skull at BYU's exhibit puts me in mind of a giant gator. Teeth on that are bigger than a tyrannosaur's. Whatever the jaws bit down on wasn't going anywhere except underwater.
I agree, that's what I've always thought that Sarcosuchus was more of a fish eater than anything. If it ate any terrestrial prey it would have most likely been small species of dinosaurs as well as the babies and young of the larger ones. But I think that its jaws would have been too delicate (relatively speaking) to handle land animals its size or larger.
I going to take a run at the purpose of the bulla: It was a finely tuned sensory devise, among other uses being able to pick up movements of potential prey and other creatures. It stayed remarkably moist even out of water. It also served as protection to the smaller teeth behind it and a buffer to the large upper teeth embedded in it.
Alligators can't crossbreed with crocodiles, both are genetically too distinct from each other, crossbreeding an American Alligator with a Chinese Alligator seems far more viable since both are alligators and more closely related
I still think these caught fish and smaller animals.well not eating the same as like purrasauras .this croc ate the same thing as a garial eats only bigger

I heard that Sarco is not a member of the crocodile family. Does a Sarco have different body parts than a crocodile?
The largest and strongest croc EVER
Who here thought this was a repeat of the Deinosuchus video?
Used da wrong croc on video cover
we should cross breed nile crocodile and american alligator so we can get a new bigger croc like liger
