Part of me is convinced that the answer is finding balance in magic/escapism and reality. If escapism is bad in its entirety, why bother having dreams?
I don't think the Winter king was ever into Betties in this universe (if you get my drift) and I think his Marcy also died leading him to be an apparently angrier ice King than in OO.
My theory as to why Winter King isn't hung up about Betty is because since Winter King cursed Bonnie 100 years ago, he never used Hambo to make a portal into the past, which caused the time loop where Betty would jump into the future, which caused her to completely vanish from the past and cause Simon's obsession. That also means Betty would have remained in the past, and knowing she's never leave Simon and wasn't against doing immoral things to save him from the crown, I bet she was the one who first came up with the idea to transfer the crown's madness to someone else, but wasn't able to do it before she died. This is why Winter King calls her the 'Dead Lady', he got closure with her.
I think Winter King is just a saner Ice King. He isn’t really Simon. He only transferred the insanity, not the personality. Cause he seems very different than Simon.
@@echidnanation8239that’s point being made, since Betty just died, it shifted his personality to be more heartless, hence why he would do such an unethical thing of transferring his curse
This episode made me realize three things. 1. Just how much morally correct our simon is and that thanks to people like betty and marceline he was able to keep his heart despite being insane. 2. Their was a little ice marceline that was playing the same guitar that an older marceline got from Hudson so does that me the winter king stole it or worse? 3. Finally farm world made me remember another looming threat of Adventure "The Lich" while I know this series villain will be the scarab it doesn't erase the the Lich's having been scatter across the multiverse could make an unannounced appearance 😱😱
In terms of a non baby universe appearance of the lich, they could come across one of the world's that didnt best the lich, as he says "you've bested me in many worlds child." It would be cool and scarey to see a world where the lich won
I think this Simon did take care of Marceline but she died at some point in her adolescence and Simon took her guitar and made an ice clone to remember her.
the lich appered in the episode scarab also first appered, when that lil blue guy came to prismo's room, he wished for silence, prismo then created or sent him to a black and white soundless uniserve, in the shadows lich was there in that multiverse too
It occured to me the existence of ice marcy made the winter king even more of a hypocrite He mentions that Simon could make an ice Betty clone to replace real Betty, but then says that he was just kidding because that would be unethical When the curse is broken Ice Marcy melts showing she was just an ice clone
The fact that this is the 2nd time something losing its magical proprty from her and cake touching it explains the threat they both pose to the multiverse because everything they rouch is adapted to their reality
@@CartoonUniverse yep, i remember someone telling his theory about the wish of betty, she wanted simon to be safe, safe of ´magic´, simon, and all that came from him will be safe of magic, or best told, negate magic interacting with him, the whole universe of fionna was merged in ice king mind, now simon mind, the whole universe isn't magicless, is anti-magic, magic will not work on them like magic won't work on simon, how strong is this protection we don't know, but sure as hell is strong to nullify winter king whole magic AND crown.
Maybe it’s because they don’t belong to the actual multiverse. Prismo even describes them as “Free Radicals”, which are atoms, molecules or ions known for damaging DNA structure, and give you premature aging or, in the worst case scenario, cancer.
@@CartoonUniverse yeah douring the kiss, Fiona grabs the ice crown, then the crown flickers and become non magical, (very same like the hot dog knight, Cake playd with durig her song in episode 3), and THEN without the magic from the crown, Winterking turned back to Simon AND "melted" away because without the magic he wasnt immortal anymore and his normal age was cathing up with him.
I really like the Gary and Marshall sub-plot, I'm guessing Marshall might have called his mom for the lemongrabs which would mean that they have a somewhat okay relationship (maybe one that's a bit healthier compared to Marceline and her father). Also love how Marshall supports Gary's idea and was interested in Gary's candy kingdom story even though it was technically their first time meeting each other. Overall, really enjoyed these episodes and can't wait to see how the story progresses for each of the characters.
This episode is really is something that came out from a Disney or Dreamworks book when Fionna kiss Winter King in that scene and she later realize both are not a thing in that multiverse.
It seems like a theme with shows about a child-like wonderland to eventually tackle what happens when you grow up. Craig of the Creek started tackling this recently too. It's kinda heavy and I don't like thinking about it, but it's important.
I've been off Craig of the creek for a while I didn't know it was still running, the show is charming but I didn't think they were building up toward this kind of thing at all.
From the viewer point of view it kinda feels like the point of the story is for Simon to adapt to his world that has magic and for Fionna to adapt to her world after it was deprived of magic. I genuinely hope Fionna's part is not the case as I would like to see their world return to some form of fantastical magical state as it should be.
This episode is really is something that came out from a Disney or Dreamworks book when Fionna kiss Winter King in that scene and she later realize both are not a thing in that multiverse.
Yeah, if Fionna world just comes back to the way it was in ep 1 then it will be anti-climax even for the "growth" of character, it will feel weird and unfulfilled. I also hope that's not the case.
I think in a way the best conclusion for Fionna worlds and for simon is a middle groumd. What we see in these episodes are extremes. So for Fionna maybe a good middle ground would be Urban fantasy, magic is there but in different kind of scoop.
The plot keeps getting better and better!! I think that Fionna and Cake will go back to their universe, but still have the chance to travel the multiverse. It’s like what Cake said in episode 3 with the squirrel, “I like having options.”
I agree. Hoping that toward the end of the series, someone will make a wish to make Fiona and Cake's universe legally part of the multiverse. I wonder if it will be that Astrid girl from the human city above ooo.
Everyone seems to be confused about the timeline, but it is very simple. He teleported the then present crown back into the past, meaning all events still happened, but the crown was displaced into the past without anyone's knowledge, meaning the crown was safely destroyed while keeping the timeline preserved. Prismo could have just dropped the crown in lava or something, and it would have been the same idea.
Betty existed in that universe. The Winter King remembers her and calls her the "dead one" much to Simon's shock. Also while Bonibell say that Fionna's kiss broke the curse, it seems like Fionna unmagiced the crown (much like Cake unmagiced the hot dog knight). A grimmer note: While Winter King brushes of his idea that Smion could create an Ice Betty as unethical, he did create a Ice Marcy. This means either Simon failed to protect Marcy (she feature a projection of his memories during the song) or fought and killed Marcy when she was trying to protect Boni from Winter King projecting his madness on her.
since that Simon was sane for 100 years, he didnt do that shenanigan time ritual with Betty, she could have died in her own timeline, or he just passed that great sadness to PB.
When Fionna was having fun fighting candy people, i notice that it parallels to "Early Finn", aka pre season 4-or-so Finn where he mainly does a fight first, ask questions later approach. The Finn we know up to the series finale has emotionally grown to find that theres more to life than fighting, adventuring, etc. To strive for peace and understanding. This Fionna has not gone through similar experiences, hence does not have that mindset. By the end of episode 6, though, it seems to be hitting her that *something* is wrong with her approach. Shes a beautiful flower and Id love to watch her grow 🌻
4:35 I personally believe that is foreshadowing of Simon doing what Winter King tried to do, conquering the crown but without pushing his problems on someone else.
Something I rly liked about episode 1 and that I only grow to appreciate more and more as the show continues is that Fionna's world is honestly rather fun. They could have very easily written it to be gray and boring to validate Fionna's disatisfaction, but the first episode is filled with moments of charm and wimsy. I'm thinking for example of when the rollerskaters ask her to join their roller derby team, or her encounter with Hunter, either could have easily been the setup for a wacky sports anime or a romance story if she hadn't dimissed it out of hand. The same way Fionna's initial musical number about how she's depressed was filled with fun moments and her hanging out with her friends, everything we see about her world really makes it clear the problem is internal, she's the one who needs to learn to find the fun and wonder in the mundane, because her world is already pretty magical, just not in the way she wishes it was...
I liked the second episode so much! It was such a deoncstruction of the series and how out of their depth Fionna and Cake are now. She’s not the adventurer she thought she was anymore. That being said, I don’t want Simon to turn back into the Ice King. I wanted Simon to be free for so long. I don’t want him to give that up and the chance at a new life with it.
It seems like whenever Fionna or Cake interacts with items and people (like the hotdog knight, crown and the winter king) they revert to something “normal”. Cake played with a hotdog knight and he became just a hotdog, Fionna touched the winter king’s crown and it was reverted to quote “just metal and glass”
It wasn’t a Nuke, it’s canonically called The Mushroom Bomb, and it’s a fusion of magic and technology, it contained the essence of The Lich, harvested (somehow) from a catalyst comet and put into the bomb, it’s why Simon stopping it enabled a world where he never existed, and why his essence was able to inhabit Farmworld Jake after it detonates.
Never heard about this, I thought the mere power of the Nuke and maybe the location or the symbolic level of destruction and death were what somehow created the Lich, if there's shadowy humans harvesting catalyst comet energy to make bombs i want to know who are these guys, how and why!
@@Bubblegob It’s never revealed who made it specifically. But we do know that The Lich himself influenced the creation of the bomb, he whispered in the ears of the scientists who made it (since he couldn’t take physical form). If widespread death and destruction was all he needed, The Lich would have appeared much earlier since he technically had been on Ooo since the time of the dinosaurs. He only appeared after the detonation of The Mushroom Bomb in both timelines because the bomb, in addition to causing widespread death also caused a huge influx of magic to proliferate throughout the world. It was the combo of those two things that allowed him to take physical form in both worlds. That goo that gets on Farmworld Jake isn’t radioactive, it’s magical.
That’s a sweet ending for Fiona to end of her story now realizing she doesn’t need magic in her world to be better. But what about Simon, like they said, if he dies, so will their world. As well as his realization of if it’s ok to be him, will he decide to keep writing Fiona and Cake stories. This makes me worry as to how they will handle Simons story
I hope Fionna meets OG Finn and Jake at some point or meet the other version of Fionna and Cake. maybe who knows they would share their experience with her.
From the beginning F+C's world was a Prismo/IceKing fanfiction. It was meant to be magical, but when Simon returned to normal and became sad and depressed, he did mention that he doesnt or cannot write F+C anymore. We directly see his version of it as a non-magical, realistic and adult version. Considering Simon's state of mind, it's not surprising it's not a happy go lucky wonderland anymore.
I’m honestly surprised that Fionna was just in love with winter king just like that, it makes me ask has she gotten over her breakup, our boy Finn grew up from his break ups and mature a little bit but has Fionna? Looking back Finn has Jake a good brother and a loyal friend to help guide him but Fionna doesn’t look like she has anyone to talk to or even want to because Cake was just a normal cat so has Fionna been suppressing her feelings and using escapism to avoid her problems 🤔
Also the winter king made weird subtle comments about replacing his lost loved one with a ice version We late see ice Marceline melting into a puddle maybe for him Betty dying didn’t hurt him like marceline
The fact that Jake is alive and old in Farm World… and we never got to see an old stretchy version of Jake… tells me that Jake may have passed mid battle with Finn.
Interesting fact cannon Ice king attempted to spells that would effect a person's emotions but failed. The first made rickardio The second made a magic cold sickness. It could be that winter king was successful with one of these 2 spells and it resulted in him projecting the crown curse onto bubblegum and her people
Everytime i hear someone say "it was fionnas kiss that changed him back and killed him" i cringe a little because we are explicitly shown on screen that her touching the crown reverts it and takes away it's magic the same way cake did with the hot dog knight or the same way she did in literally the episode right before this one where she the knife she had picked up earlier in that episode suddenly became a butter knife by the time the final confrontation in the crater comes about. Im assuming the fact that she is from a world of non magic that anything she touches loses its magic attributes as well...or maybe its because her dimension is completely split off from the rest of the dimensions. But it wasnt because of her kiss THE WINTER KING WOULDN'T HAVE KISSED HER IS HE KNEW IT WOULD KILL HIM SHE JUST TOOK THE MAGIC AWAY FROM THE CROWN IT LITERALLY SHOWS IT ON SCREEN
I think the reason why this version of the ice king forgot about Betty is because he had a more recent loss of Marceline, my reason to believe this is because in the beginning of the winter wonder world song it shows him and young Marcie getting attacked by the gross goo people and then later we see he created a young "Ice Marcie" and he even suggested to Simon that he could create an "Ice Betty" if he misses her so much... idk it's just my theory
fiona and cake has been going through multiverses and interrupting them in any way and scarab trying to get rid of them as their an anomaly.. kinda reminds me of somethingg.. oh yeah. the spiderverse
I feel like the madness could be projected onto the ice thing maybe or the universe could be placed in Gunther safely which would explain the mountains in the credits with the gems in them and the focus on that location & character early on.
Idk if you may have missed (wich i understand bc it is pretty fast) when fionna touches the winter king crown, it glitches out, like the hotdog warrior did when cake touched it. I think this is due to them not being connected to the multiverse and so their presence glitches out the stuff and makes it "normal"
@@toad1414 HOW?? why else would the magic have suddenly disappeared?? The crown existed for thousands of years and then it just POOF stops working when fionna touches it for the first time and somehow most of the audience just... completely misses it?? what did they THINK happened??
dunno. guess folks just thought that "the kiss of true love" broke the magic, and then heard PB say that "Just like a fairy tale: your kiss broke the curse!" and then decided not to think too much about what just happened. @@toad1414 that is... depressing that there are big segments audience is going to have to have someone literally say "Fionna and Cake are literally spreading Simon's non-magicness to some of the things they touch." before they understand what is going on. it hurts me as a storyteller. I get why the characters are confused only Cake has seen it happen before and she didn't acknowledge it.
@@RaspbrylZ yeee, I hope more people will catch on to this soon. I know I had to do a double-take and rewatch that scene when I first saw it, because at first I was confused about what happened, but then it hit me, and I was very, very disturbed, but in a good way. I love this show, dude. I was really worried that they might mess it up, but the writers and everyone else who is involved in the production did an incredible job.
I'm seeing a lot of people speculating that the Winter King could have possibly been the one to kill Marceline since we see a young version of Marceline made of ice with the adult Marceline's bass. Although, this is entirely possible, I feel like this version of Simon would have not lasted long since I'm sure Hunson would want him dead for killing his daughter. Sure, Hunson neglects Marcy, and we all know that. But, he's also shown that he cares about her on some level. I could be wrong, but I'm just not sure if Winter King still would have been alive (up until this episode) if he was the one that killed her.
This episode made me realize that Simon actually does have at least a little magic left. Or perhaps rather the process in which he was being digested back into being Simon by Golb had a strange preservative effect on him. Cause yeah Simon like his Winter King counterpart is ancient. And the moment he was cut off from the crown's magic he began to age and decompose to reflect his true age. So yeah Simon has at least a little bit of magic juice still in him. He's aging but he's doing it gradually rather than his several centuries long life debt being collected on all at once. It would be interesting if Simon works his way back towards being a full fledged wizard independent of the ice crown based on his own understanding of magic and the emotions that fuel it. Simon already has sadness in spades. And yeah there's probably means other than the ice crown to harness enough madness to alloy with his sadness to form a fresh font of magical mojo... "All magic users swim in the Loony Gloom." Simon just needs to find a way to dive back in with a fresh set of floaties that can keep him from drowning in the madness...
Watching this with my fiance, he pointed out that Simon brought Fionna and Cake into Ooo through an ice portal. Makes me wonder if he still has some kind of ice power left in him. Maybe they're foreshadowing something
I don't think it's about Simon still having magic, it's about being reverted to his original state in Golb's belly which somehow restaured him to his pre-crown state with the actual age he had at the time, you can see from his wrinkle and white streak of hair that he has been aging ever since, it's not just that the crown magic was erased leaving Simon to suffer the natural consequences of losing his powers, he was also in Golb's body at the time which seems to work like a form of time travel.
@@bowlofcereal4701Simon also has the white eyes and was reverted to the time he first put on the crown. He was also not getting cold either so yeah he def does have some ice powers in him still or at least a connection.
The symbolism is strong, but the cause of the fantasy falling apart is Fionna and Cake glitching the magic away. Cake turned a Hot Dog Knight into a regular hot dog after playing with it, and Fionna disenchanted the crown while holding it. It seems that because their non-magical world is disconnected from the multiverse, they are depowering whatever they interact with. It's going to hurt when the pair realize that the are dispelling all of the magic they crave.
Finn was the human born into a fantasy world that never quite grew up. Fiona was the human born into a more realistic world, forced to grow up. It’s more telling then, how different Fiona is from the counterpart Ice King dreamed up.
Fionna didn’t kill Winter King with her Kiss , she turned the crown into one that wasn’t magic . Just like when she turned hot dog knight into a normal hotdog
One thing I’m curious about is the locations of each lich. Just a reminder it’s not only Fiona that’s a multidimensional traveler so is the lich of which could have a bigger impact on the story.
being a traveler isnt the problem, the problem is that fionna's world shouldnt exist at all, lich on other hand exists in all universes except fionna's one as far as we know
@@Louis-kw6ykI wonder if that's the ultimate solution to destroying the lich entirely, if Fiona and Cake are the 'sickness' on the multiverse and everything they directly come into contact with immediately reverts to a normalized object from their reality or immediately loses their magical power. Then what happens if they come into contact with an entity that can't exist within their own universe?
@@Louis-kw6yk My only problem with that is that not all worlds have the same lich and in certain cases, the lich could end certain worlds easily and far sooner than they are supposed to. for example at the end of episode 6 there's a world filled with BABYS that in my opinion wont be able to face a jake hand lich that still has a good majority of its powers.
@@rodolfoleon4538 yes tho... I think the only worlds that lich doesn't exist are farm world and the Fionna universe, even the original ooo has lich, but it's trapped into that boy's body
@@UnluckySuperstition that's interesting thought, and honestly idk, as far as we know some entities can't be killed or erase such as golb, but the rest is unsure lich could be killed by them tbh
I kind hope they do get aome sort of magic back Its okay to acknowledged growing up...but its also okay to keep your imagination and creativity back..sometimes you can even grow tk be better from your creativity sbd magic i mean Ice king did. Slowly but surely he managed to somewhat overcome the crowns insanity. Not alot mond you but good enough
Very true. I've always said liking magic/fantasy and wanting to explore to find something no one has seen before (basically adventuring), shouldn't be considered immature and foolish. As well that having depression, a heavy drinking habit, and/or recreational-drug habit shouldn't be considered "just part of growing up".
The crown did not turn Betty into glob, The current state of the ice crown was used by Gunther to become his perception of the Ice king, turning him into the "ice thing". the normal crown of OOO isn't functional because Orgalorg absorbed it, becoming one with it
something I just realized the winter king said that simon could create his own ice betty and when winter king died there was marcy's axe and some water so marcy died in that universe and that might have been what cause the winter king to end up the way he did
One significant dark tone about that version of the ice King is that he abandoned everything for the fantasy world he made. He cursed bubblegum, he gave up on Betty and worse he abandoned Marceline. If you noticed, the ice copy was a child which should be a teenager. So this means that he abandoned Marceline early on to survive the mutants.
Idk original Ice King abandonned her as a child when he turned mad, from what the Winter King said he was like the original Ice King for centuries so it probably played out the same. I agree there's a mistery about this Marcie since the ice copy is actually holding the real Marceline guitar something creepy could still have happened I just don't think that's it.
@@Bubblegob two possibilities I can think of. Either he abandoned her early on or he killed her when she tried to free bubblegum from the curse. In either case he choosed to sacrifice for his fantasy
Marcie may have returned to the Nightosphere with her biological dad early. So Winter King remembers her as a child and made an ice version of her. Marcie may have given him her bass as a goodbye present for protecting her. Which may be a reason why Winter King projected his madness on Candy Queen, since Marcie was in the Nightosphere this whole time so there was no one to stop him. Seems to me Winter King cares about Marcie enough to make an ice version of her, I don't think he'd go so far as to kill her. He never killed anyone, but he does do dodgy stuff.
@@Palepetal Sounds nice but her dad abandoned her pre-birth and didn't care. All he did was leave the ax. At best the story played out to adventuretime similarly till the last 100 years where Marcie was already connecting with PB. Once Simon cursed PB, she would be forced to make a decision and since she isn't around that means one outcome. Marcie has always been emotional and impulsive. No way she took another route to avoid the problem altogether.
Damn, *Fionna and Cake* definitely has gotten me to the edge of my seat already, waiting on what next episode could happen next. Can't wait to see how things end for Fionna and Cake in this Brand Newest Series of *Fionna and Cake* on Max! 😄😁
The baby world is honestly my favorite so far! It’s just so cute! 🥹 Even little baby Lich I just want to pick up and hug! I would actually like to see more of it!
Spoilers: That is what will happen really: Simon will not find a working crown so he will fix the broken gem from farm world, the gem will be weaker but the curse will be more manageable so Simon won't go crazy, and he will become Ice Prince like in the dreams of Fionna.
I'd just like to remind everyone that the Winter King losing magic and aging 1000 years is exactly what was going to happen to our Simon in Betty's debut episode.
I don't think its that Betty never existed, I think Betty never jumped through the portal. She must have stayed with Simon until she perished in the mushroom war, and he was able to get closure. That's why he refers to her as 'the dead one'
This episode is really is something that came out from a Disney or Dreamworks book when Fionna kiss Winter King in that scene and she later realize both are not a thing in that multiverse.
I’ve had a thought. So if Simon is trying to find a crown to turn himself back into the ice king so Fiona and Cake’s universe becomes magical again, why not instead of trying to find a crown that turns him into Ice king they look for one in its original wishing state? Before it was ever used
That would be a better plan, but it feels like Simon is using this as an escape so he doesn't have to deal with his problems. He'll just be the Ice King.
i think you missed that it wasnt fionas kiss that killed winter king, its her "glitching" remember what she touches suddenly turns normal, she was holding the crown and she turned it off cause of her "glitching" whcih she didn't mean or even noticed, like she did with the hotdog soldiers
I think Fionna and Cake‘s world could have magic again while also having the mundane aspects of life. I think Fionna learns that not everything is going to be a dream where she is in control and there is no repercussions. I think she just needs to go through what Finn went through during Adventure Time run and grow maturity with instead of going on adventures but instead being a hero. That’s my opinion.
I would say a sad moment is on episode 6 at 9:01 you see a young Ice Marceline in a room playing her axe bass but at the end of the episode at 20:50 she is a puddle. It makes you think what happened to the real Marceline
Maybe the cause of the breaking of the curse is that Fionna and cake are undoing magic to what they touch like what cake did to the hotdog soldier in ep3
Yeah this is an interesting exploration of what could have been. At first I thought the dimension with the Winter King was just a completely unconnected universe. But the main difference with this universe seems to be Betty either died officially long ago or was never brought to the future and Marceline seems to be deceased as well. Without these correcting forces the Ice King strayed further into his unethical persona from earlier in Adventure Time (remember Ice King in earlier Adventure Time seasons was more a straight-up villian than the tragic figure he became) which led him to divert his Madness onto princess Bubblegum. While now more sane he than had to deal with the now insane Candy Queen and with apparently not Finn and Jake equivalent in his dimension so he had to contend with her himself. Also since she had been insane for years this Bubblegum didn't go through any of the character development on account of Marceline, Finn and Jake etc. So is more like earlier season adventure time bubblegum. So even though the universe looks a lot different its really the same as the main one with a few missing characters.
it bugs me why the winter king didnt become a regular Simon, the Ice King lost his powers once and became a regular Simon, although he wouldnt last long.
So, anyone else getting the impression that the show is setting up Fionna and Simon to get together? I mean, She dreams of a heroic Ice King, She falls for the Winter King, and now the trio are going on an adventure through the multiverse trying to save her home learning and growing together. Then There is the whole thing about Simon needing to move on with his life including accepting Betty is basically dead and now suddenly this magical girl from another world needs his help to save them thus giving him a goal to pursue and therefore move on from the past. I suspect this is due to the Ice King writing about how Fionna loved him in his fanfics and Glob Betty is in her own way trying to help the man she loved. I mean, WHY would him trying to contact her result in Fionna and Cake escaping into his reality? Either way whether I like it or not I ship then and I wonder what will happen next.
Id like to point out that fiona didn't kill winter king with a kiss it was more like her holding the crown made it a normal crown and thats what killed him
Fionna touches the crown and turning the crown unmagic just like cake turned a hotdog knight into a normal hotdog Will I'm seeing there totally going to normalize everything that's magic into unmagical and inngormatitc matter
Something I think about wrt Fionna is like, she's not exactly wrong for wanting what she wants, either. She's not just from another universe, she's literally from a fanfiction universe written into existence by Prismo and influenced by Simon's/Ice King's mind. Her reality was what people in-universe assume a life of adventure to be, without most of the gruesome parts. We could always reach the conclusion that there was a grittier end to Ooo that simply couldn't be shown in a kids cartoon, and this series that's meant to have a more adult pov on this universe confirms that. But Fionna and Cake's really was that saccharine and free of consequence. The problem is that reality can't ever be as perfect as fiction. Accepting that reality is a big part of being a part of reality in a way that doesn't suck. Which I wonder if that's what'll happen, Fionna's acceptance of what being real is tying to her universe's inclusion in the multiverse, somehow. Which of course ends up being reflective of Simon's own journey of self discovery and acceptance of the present, I would assume. You can't just lose your mind so that what you're hurting about stops hurting over dealing with present reality. Doesn't help that everyone was gaslighting tf out of him about how he should feel about Ice King tho lmao
I think it's weird that noone is bringing up the ice marcy, even if winter king conquered the crown 100 years ago hes still about 1000 so were is real marcy?
If the crowns power can control Golb at least indirectly and Fiona can kill that power with just basically a touch than what is stopping her from giving Golbetty a peck on the cheek, and turning her back to normal, and golb into an giant baby, more or less basically the same thing as what happened to the Lich
When Prismo changed everything, all he did was make sure it got destroyed so the crown wouldn’t call to him, it didn’t change the timeline or reverse it, he just made sure the crown was now gone so it couldn’t cause more harm so f.w. Finn remembering makes sense

I think this Simon did take care of Marceline but she died at some point in her adolescence and Simon took her guitar and made an ice clone to remember her.
the lich appered in the episode scarab also first appered, when that lil blue guy came to prismo's room, he wished for silence, prismo then created or sent him to a black and white soundless uniserve, in the shadows lich was there in that multiverse too
4. In every universe, Finn is buff
It occured to me the existence of ice marcy made the winter king even more of a hypocrite
He mentions that Simon could make an ice Betty clone to replace real Betty, but then says that he was just kidding because that would be unethical
When the curse is broken Ice Marcy melts showing she was just an ice clone
The fact that this is the 2nd time something losing its magical proprty from her and cake touching it explains the threat they both pose to the multiverse because everything they rouch is adapted to their reality
i was wondering what happened here, interestingg

You completely missed them saying they were meeting up "with her." Marshall was probably impersonating her or stole her phone
Their friendship was really wholesome and brotherly, I hope we get to see more of them.

@@okaberintarou6798 Especially if Cake doesn't keep her powers.
I think in a way the best conclusion for Fionna worlds and for simon is a middle groumd. What we see in these episodes are extremes. So for Fionna maybe a good middle ground would be Urban fantasy, magic is there but in different kind of scoop.
This episode had me go from being in awe from amazing animation and music to complete unease and discomfort from the battle with the candy people.
@@Matikal-nu8wd But what about Simon? I really want him to be back with Betty and Fiona is pretty naive urging Simon to become crazy again.
Everyone seems to be confused about the timeline, but it is very simple.
He teleported the then present crown back into the past, meaning all events still happened, but the crown was displaced into the past without anyone's knowledge, meaning the crown was safely destroyed while keeping the timeline preserved.
Prismo could have just dropped the crown in lava or something, and it would have been the same idea.
if you threw it in lava, nobody would likely ever find it again. Same outcome either way.
@@emanuelbaigorria3932a fire elemental with an ice crown? sounds like a flood waiting to happen.
This means either Simon failed to protect Marcy (she feature a projection of his memories during the song) or fought and killed Marcy when she was trying to protect Boni from Winter King projecting his madness on her.
yes, yes, yes. the crown's jewels get less red, showing that fionna somehow took away it's magic like cake did in that episode
since that Simon was sane for 100 years, he didnt do that shenanigan time ritual with Betty, she could have died in her own timeline, or he just passed that great sadness to PB.

@@armoredman10 yes, it was all destroyed
Adventure time was always a fun show it's really fun to see it continue to develop ^^
Everything about this series takes what Adventure Time left us & matures it to perfection.
Looks like Fionna went down the reversed rabbit hole.
Growing up sucks, but we need it.
It doesn't suck at all tbh. It's just the idea of losing ourselves that does
Well life sucks, get use to it
It seems like whenever Fionna or Cake interacts with items and people (like the hotdog knight, crown and the winter king) they revert to something “normal”. Cake played with a hotdog knight and he became just a hotdog, Fionna touched the winter king’s crown and it was reverted to quote “just metal and glass”
who cares if it’s unrealistic, mostly sane ice king voiced by BDG is literally brilliant
Welcome ta adulthood everyone: something we can't escape it just happens all we have ta do is make a living
Not to mention that the Lich King's essence, and thus the Green Catalyst Comet, apparently come from Golb.
It is like Radioactive Magic or Nuclear Magic.

@@Louis-kw6yk agreed.
From her appartment... I'd say yes.
Also the winter king made weird subtle comments about replacing his lost loved one with a ice version
We late see ice Marceline melting into a puddle maybe for him Betty dying didn’t hurt him like marceline
Well now we know the consequence of a WHAT IF Betty had found a way to remove the crown, being digested by Glob really save Simon
The fact that Jake is alive and old in Farm World… and we never got to see an old stretchy version of Jake… tells me that Jake may have passed mid battle with Finn.
Interesting fact cannon Ice king attempted to spells that would effect a person's emotions but failed.
The first made rickardio
The second made a magic cold sickness.
It could be that winter king was successful with one of these 2 spells and it resulted in him projecting the crown curse onto bubblegum and her people
Its just insane how adventure time uses Blood now bro in fionna and cake.
It was her holding the crown that reset it and caused the Winter King to age to death
But it wasnt because of her kiss THE WINTER KING WOULDN'T HAVE KISSED HER IS HE KNEW IT WOULD KILL HIM SHE JUST TOOK THE MAGIC AWAY FROM THE CROWN
IT LITERALLY SHOWS IT ON SCREEN
I think the reason why this version of the ice king forgot about Betty is because he had a more recent loss of Marceline, my reason to believe this is because in the beginning of the winter wonder world song it shows him and young Marcie getting attacked by the gross goo people and then later we see he created a young "Ice Marcie" and he even suggested to Simon that he could create an "Ice Betty" if he misses her so much... idk it's just my theory

oh yeah. the spiderverse
Fionna and cake is slowly becoming the best rick and morty season
Finally someone has been said it
it would be funny to see an universe where we still have the crazy ice king meet simon
I feel like the madness could be projected onto the ice thing maybe or the universe could be placed in Gunther safely which would explain the mountains in the credits with the gems in them and the focus on that location & character early on.
Not sure how they’re gonna deal with Scarab though.
basically worsening gunther state and making him the complete ice thing, maybe you are into something
Idk if you may have missed (wich i understand bc it is pretty fast) when fionna touches the winter king crown, it glitches out, like the hotdog warrior did when cake touched it. Brian David Gilbert in adventure time is the most exciting thing to happen in adventure time in a looooong time
Can't Simon figure out a way to project the crowns insanity onto another immortal being? Perhaps an evil one, then lock them up.
I could be wrong, but I'm just not sure if Winter King still would have been alive (up until this episode) if he was the one that killed her.
when the Winter King Simon withered and died like that, it reminded me at the climax of Indiana Jones: The Last Crusader.
"All magic users swim in the Loony Gloom."
Simon just needs to find a way to dive back in with a fresh set of floaties that can keep him from drowning in the madness...
Just like Finn she has a lot to learn and grow from her wishes
Finn was the human born into a fantasy world that never quite grew up. Fiona was the human born into a more realistic world, forced to grow up. It’s more telling then, how different Fiona is from the counterpart Ice King dreamed up.
Finn actually has five kids. We see the other three to Finn's left at the table when Bonnie, Cake and Fionna are on his right
this cartoon is so damn good
Fionna didn’t kill Winter King with her Kiss , she turned the crown into one that wasn’t magic .

Very true. I've always said liking magic/fantasy and wanting to explore to find something no one has seen before (basically adventuring), shouldn't be considered immature and foolish. As well that having depression, a heavy drinking habit, and/or recreational-drug habit shouldn't be considered "just part of growing up".
Something interesting I realized, Jay and Bonnie (2 of Finn's kids in Destiny) share their names with Finn's kids in Puhoy, for obvious reasons!
Is no one gonna talk about little ice Marcy and how most likely snow kings Marcy is probably dead
The crown did not turn Betty into glob, The current state of the ice crown was used by Gunther to become his perception of the Ice king, turning him into the "ice thing". the normal crown of OOO isn't functional because Orgalorg absorbed it, becoming one with it
It would be interesting to see if Betty is still alive or not. We never found out what happened to her after the season finale.
something I just realized the winter king said that simon could create his own ice betty and when winter king died there was marcy's axe and some water so marcy died in that universe and that might have been what cause the winter king to end up the way he did
One significant dark tone about that version of the ice King is that he abandoned everything for the fantasy world he made.
No way she took another route to avoid the problem altogether.

Just glad this show was announced a day after I finished binge watching the whole show
I'd just like to remind everyone that the Winter King losing magic and aging 1000 years is exactly what was going to happen to our Simon in Betty's debut episode.
I think this was a reality where Betty didn't exist and simon couldn't save Marceline with chicken noodle soup
I don't think its that Betty never existed, I think Betty never jumped through the portal. She must have stayed with Simon until she perished in the mushroom war, and he was able to get closure. That's why he refers to her as 'the dead one'
The next adventure time spin off should be dedicated to the mushroom war if they decide to do that.
It’s pretty great we have Marceline in our universe, so Iceking didn’t turn into some evil genius that could transfer his curse
i think you missed that it wasnt fionas kiss that killed winter king, its her "glitching"
remember what she touches suddenly turns normal, she was holding the crown and she turned it off cause of her "glitching" whcih she didn't mean or even noticed, like she did with the hotdog soldiers
Oh fantasy is a powerful thing it can bring new ideas to life make new discovery and crazy imagination makes things really interesting
Wait are those farm world kids the human version of the pillow kids???
They share the names
a nice way to tell stories. differnt dimensions with differnt stories is nice. but with the same characters.
If prismo grants everyone who walks into the cube a wish why couldn't Fiona or cake wish for their world to be real?
I also don't understand why genderbend world can't be canon
Maybe the cause of the breaking of the curse is that Fionna and cake are undoing magic to what they touch like what cake did to the hotdog soldier in ep3
I remember when the main show came out I was like 6
So could they have made a wish on that crown?
With candy queen I noticed some similarities with mommy long legs from poppy playtime right away.
it bugs me why the winter king didnt become a regular Simon, the Ice King lost his powers once and became a regular Simon, although he wouldnt last long.
In my theory he might adopt Fionna as his daughter cause 30 years gap
Id like to point out that fiona didn't kill winter king with a kiss it was more like her holding the crown made it a normal crown and thats what killed him
Fionna touches the crown and turning the crown unmagic just like cake turned a hotdog knight into a normal hotdog
Will I'm seeing there totally going to normalize everything that's magic into unmagical and inngormatitc matter
A truly interesting turn of events, i wonder what happens next?
We’ll see if this ends in the way we expect.
Cant wait for next episodes!
I think it's weird that noone is bringing up the ice marcy, even if winter king conquered the crown 100 years ago hes still about 1000 so were is real marcy?
I loved the winter king (episode) !!! The music and the animation was so great!!!!💕💕💕💕❄️❄️❄️
If the crowns power can control Golb at least indirectly and Fiona can kill that power with just basically a touch than what is stopping her from giving Golbetty a peck on the cheek, and turning her back to normal, and golb into an giant baby, more or less basically the same thing as what happened to the Lich
Well in the episode we actually see the crown glitchout losing it's magic, and since it was tied to the Winter Kings immortality he aged rapidly
This episode is my favorite. Winter King is my favorite character and Candy Queen was fun to watch too lol
CQ: "I put you into a Blender with me"
Simon: "what a nice metaphor"
CQ: "not a metaphor"
😅
Fionna and cake are the best
I still think the magic might come back to Fiona‘s world.
When Prismo changed everything, all he did was make sure it got destroyed so the crown wouldn’t call to him, it didn’t change the timeline or reverse it, he just made sure the crown was now gone so it couldn’t cause more harm so f.w. Finn remembering makes sense
