Such powerful surfing from such a youngster! The guys on the CT better win their titles now cause when Eli gets on tour he's gonna be even better with more power and will dominate everyone hands down. I haven't been this impressed in a while. Eli if you read this, don't start partying, stay focused and you will have an amazing life/career. Surfing is the best drug of all. You have a gift!

This kid came to Costa Rica with the Hurley team about 3-4 years ago, and they were surfing my home break. Kid was 4 foot nothing and blowing minds. I made sure to say hey to this future world champ. CJ in Esterillos Pura Vida.

He has the ability yes, takes alot of head streangth to stay clean and away from the party scene. Will be a challenge at his age. And there's more and more rippers everyday... I have faith. Future looks promising for sure.

Just got back from Indonesia last month and at one spot there were 4 young Indonesian guys pulling massive airs and sitting in deep barrels every session. Couldn't believe the quality of surfing. I actually have never seen any surfers surfing that well before. This young guy seems very close to the same level.
Funny to read your comment. I am always watching vids from indo, and I was just saying to my buddy how hard the Indo kids are ripping now.
It cause a lot of the pros will leave a board or 2 for the local kids to surf. That didn't start happening till the early 2000s. With waves like that pumping like a wave machine, they learn tho charge young as long as they can get s board when they're young. The surfing community has done a lot of good in the South Pacific!

These young surfers really need to give due credit to Michael Ho and the other greats. It always takes some radical dude to stretch what was possible in surfing. I remember Michael at the pipeline masters during the 80s, with an arm cast and deep in the pocket. Man it was like watching ballet, it was that beautiful!

5. I've fitted two lifetimes of surfing into my life so far. I've seen and known plenty of rippers, big wave chargers( I'm a west Ozzie) , gifted grommies and lots of soul men. This young man seems to have the lot. I've been following him or some time . His airs are crazy and that's obvious but the soul factor is there and has been all along. It's strange. When he was 11 ort 12 doing silky smooth roundhouse cutbacks and maintaining his speed on release. Surfing is progressive. It takes time5. But Eli has a real gift. Best of luck lil fella. Stay away from the crack and the hos. Be smart and be good! Col trump
