Hi there! This is one that I started working on a few years ago, it was on stand by because I had a hard time trying to make sense of the rubato and all the crazy substitutions in the chord melody section. I think it ended nicely.
I will admit I'm not a Peter Bernstein expert. I would say, his chord melody style makes me think of George Benson. Like George, there is a lots of content in it and he is blending a lots of different colors. I like that there is a bunch of diatonic ideas to make the arrangement more digestible. Most of what I heard from him was his 'solo guitar' album and sometime it seemed lost in altered sounds and chromaticism... maybe my hear was just not develop enough at that time to really appreciate though, I'll give it another chance shortly. Meanwhile.... Have fun!
I love Bernstein and would love to see more of him on your channel! I think ‘Solo Guitar’ is a pretty mixed bag of an album. Some tunes sound much more musical than others. But I think the main point of interest in his playing is that it physically feels pretty familiar (playing it, I mean), even while sounding so distinct!
Hi Francois, well I think that Peter Bernstein is a genius, he's from another planet for what concerns the touch on the guitar, and the mastery in finding sophisticated substitutions and melodic ideas without losing spontaneity and transport...PS: and what about his comping..?? So creative, it seems another improvisation but with the chords.

Hey Francios, Ive just found your transcription after i transcribed Pete's version and i have to say great job however i guess there are some mistakes in Chord Chart in the bar 12-13-14...the chords are Bbm7,Eb7 and then AbMaj7,D7 and then Db7,C7...
i know it doesnt sound original, i also was abit shocked when i heard that beautiful Reharm !
