Define bored looking. How do you know if they weren't just concentrating on the music? Stuff like this was completely new and people who paid entry didn't wanted someone to disturb them. Meaning no clapping, no fidgeting - just shut your mouth and embrace this new experience. It's like you went to a live orchestra play. You are expected to behave and be quiet, while they are still playing.
Thank you so much for this video . Thank you for reminding me a time of magic when a little prince used to come on stage and sat in front of his machines to bring us to the stars ... and beyond !
Klaus Schulze gave me through his music the first chance to encounter electronic music. Some say he's a precursor of trance. I would agree. Great music. (non-stop)
Klaus Schulze has recorded over 100 albums (I believe) and I have only heard about 15 of them. Pure genius, I think "Timewind" and "Blackdance" are the greatest electronic albums ever!
Always touching to see again this splendid concert vidéo of Klaus Schulze at the summit of his youth. It reminds me two concerts I attended in 1979 and 1980. Thank yoçu or this pleasure.
Been a Schulze fan since the early 70's... People today seem not to have the patience required to let music "unfold"... bevviesanclips is right, no drugs required... music does it all! Thanks Klaus
you've gotta hear his album 'Transfer' it really takes you places...i discovered that LP late in 1987 and just fell in love with analog synths and i'm a drummer! One of the first digitally recorded albums every made apparently using modified analog tape machines and the fantastically fitting drumming of Michael Shrieve. With it's just one track per side. Awesome!
Another masterpiece from the brilliant Klaus Schulze! He inspired me a lot creating my electronic music. I have created a track called Berlin Walk which is a tribute to him together with Tangerine Dream. Tahnk you for the post.
Truly, 70's were the most innovative time in pop music. Within just one decade we could've experienced Led Zep, Sabbs, Prog, Glam, Punk, New Wave and electronic visionaries like Klaus Schulze. Amazing years !
Thanks for posting this. I love that you can watch what he's doing at times. I wish the video were simply locked on him, or really just his hands. ...much obliged.
It's not hard to understand, and this classic shows it exactly: it's not bass that makes trance! Today the fast kick is so annoying and comercial This is the real base for trance!
+Felipe Kruger this is maybe new age... it has nothing todo with trance ;D kicks in that music were not invented becaus of the lack of drum computers... listen to newer music of him and you will find your kick.... btw. a kick is for dance music essential... try listen to a slayer song without main riff guitar....
Yeah, this is trance. Many in the early dance "trance" saw folks like Schulze as "proto-trance". But what was considered Trance in the 90's saw their inspiration from Schulze without a doubt. These days, or since the '00 Above and Beyond pop orientation, Trance has no trance inducing qualities.
Klaus Schulze is true genius and visionary. To create this masterpiece in 1975 and still sound like it came out in 2010 (35 years later!) is really extraordinary! What is this track name? I know this is the 1975 album Timewind. One more thing, I feel like it was remixed recently, but don't remember by whom. Can anyone help?
What times! An entire "factory" of sounds! :) In our times with 2 or 3 sinthesisers anyone can do much than then. But..Klaus was, IS and will remain Unique! Only He cand do "magic" with theses instruments. I don't know how many composers has over 100 albums and almost all of them masterpieces... Mirage, Timewind, X, or Miditerranean Pads :) just few albums that I take on an empty Island. All the best! Gabi, Romania
@ferserk The song is entitled ' For Barry Graves ', and is only available in Klaus' massive 50 disc set ' Ultimate Edition ', in a slightly longer version .
We were not all into disco in the seventies! Some of us were exploring other musical realities, such as ELP, Yes, Moody Blues, John Cage, and Tangerine Dream. This video partially shows Schulze actually performing; very nice to see someone controlling the machines, and not the other way around!
@OtixIbiza: Sorry, not true, Klaus was hired by Edgar Froese specifically as a drummer because "he could hold an unusual rhythm over an extended period of time". The only Album that Klaus recorded with TD is "Electronic Meditation". There, he is credited playing "drums, percussion, metal sticks".
Klaus Schulze - Genius Electronic Music !!
RiP Master Of Berlin School (*) KS...Respect From Poland...
Dies ist der Moment in dem die Trance Musik geboren wurde!!! In this moment trance music was born!!!!!

Klaus Schulze, one of the uncrowned kings of electronic music. And one of the firestarters of this genre.

Echt magisch.

This is the real base for trance!
true that.

F -André kicks couldve been emulated through peer synth design. and.. there were drum machines in the 70s

The "four on the floor kick" is a distraction.

Seriously though that took some skill without PCs or macs pure genius!
Astonishing ..
@relegaldesigns1 The video and audio quality is also exceptional. I wish Klaus had stuck with Froese longer!
@OtixIbiza: Sorry, not true, Klaus was hired by Edgar Froese specifically as a drummer because "he could hold an unusual rhythm over an extended period of time".
