The Brothers Cazimero have been my favorite Hawaiian group since the 1970s when they began performing with the famous group, Sunday Manoa, (with Peter Moon) and took part in the big changes and resurgence of Hawaiian music & culture known as The Hawaiian Renaissance. Robert and Roland Cazimero's voices and harmonies are also legendary, though Roland doesn't sing or perform much now because of illness. In one local TV show, Robert Cazimero was voted the Best Singer in Hawai'i. Here's more info about Robert, who is also one of the most respected kumu hula (hula teacher) in Hawai'i. www.mountainapplecompany.com/blog/artist/robert/
Yes, and sadly, Roland passed away in 2017. I think this little show at the Honolulu Zoo was one of the last times he performed live with Robert. It was a few months after he had collapsed at the May Day concert on Maui, so we were surprised but very happy to see him on stage in his usual good spirits making wisecracks, but he did seem a little tired. Iʻm just glad I was able to see him togther with Robert one more time and record the special time for others to enjoy as well.
This is a beloved hapa-haole song from the Golden Age of Hawaiian music. How wonderful to have that family connection. Are you involved with Hawaiian music or hula today?
Never knew the history of the song, amazing plus heavenly mele.
The guy on the left has a beautiful tone...love these guys..

Facts bro
Dulcid sounds of the Brothers Cazimero
Sorry to hear about Roland's passing. Heaven has just become more melodic!
Roland is a brilliant musician and song story writer. He has produced a few albums without Robert including Hokulea Saga, Pele and Warrior.
