CUTTRICK puzzle -
Oh man, this is probably the most unsatisfying puzzle I've ever seen
This isn't even a puzzle. This was just some guy saying "Watch me sell two pieces of wood for 300x it's worth."
I blinked when he said “what about now” and had to listen to him ramble all over again….. OH BOY
POV: You couldn’t pause the video when he said “What about now” so you ended up watching the video 2 times.
So you're telling me that someone sold in a box two pieces of wood and called it a puzzle?
I think what makes this hard is the solution is “make this so you can cut it into two equal pieces.” Most people would then assume the solution is symmetric
The hard thing about this is that what you hear ‘cut into two identical pieces’ you assume there’s a line of symmetry somewhere but no.
Man this felt more like a math problem than a puzzle. When you said a “cut” I thought you meant a single straight line passing through the shape. Still interesting tho ig
I’m not gonna lie and say that I wasn’t half expecting him to say “Now you can’t use external tools, but you
Balance the square on its edge, then balance the other piece on its edge on top of the square. Cut vertically.
“do you see it? what about now?”
"What about now?"
Him: Do you see two identical pieces?
This is like seeing a biblically accurate angel, because i cant fucking comprehend it
Plot twist: The actual puzzle is: successfully pausing the video at the right moment to see the solution.
If the rules permit cutting any shape line, not just a straight line, then you can cut a line that follows a pattern of triangles. This gives nearly infinite solutions, which I believe is part of why people assume that an implied rule is that it has to be a straight line
They need a fast forward button on shorts
I like how he made the results last for .01 seconds so you’d have to watch it all over again, thus increasing his watch time
Him: "Use your imagination to solve it"
