Totally agree with everything you say here!!! Also I have to say, I like your channel and way of analyzing the songs, like really to the point, picking out the right moments, and you are saying a lot without using too much words, as in it's very pleasurable to watch your video's! :)
Hey Noosh !! Good job, girl. I love the way you follow all ESC events. I never forget to come to you for a "specialist" review. Just one regret ... we're in August already and the junior contest will take place in 3 or 4 months. We have to meet 15 countries and artists during this time (this year, even if i would like to hear twice or more), if i remember well. And it's not so easy to find our different contestants on all the social medias so... if only all the countries could organise their national junior finals from the end of the senior ESC to two months before the JESC, all the fans would have more time to discover all and decide who would be their winner. Love from France.
I hope they will send Sep & Jasmijn with Holding on to You! The song could win the contest. It reminds a little bit of the interval act at Eurovision 2021!
Sep & Jasmijn really stick out to me, because their singing is beautiful & the melody of their song is great and refreshing. In my opinion, with most of the songs, only one aspect is great so I really think they make the best chance to win!
Holding on to you was written and composedby the same artist as the one from la festa. Robert Dorn is his name. He has had songs in all JSF's since 2018 if im right. 2014, 2020 and 2022 Dutch JESC entries were made by him.
@ I never said it did? I was just saying that bc she said it was weird that it was in November as it’s usually in December Hence why i said November is normal, because it’s almost always been in November, doesn’t matter if it’s late November it’s still November 2021 and 2022 were late because they weren’t in November and the issue was so many got Ill, and that’s never really happened before
well, November is better because it is a midway between two grown-up Eurovision editions (± six months after the previous and ± six months before the following).
November weather is a bit easier on the kids' voices. December is the beginning of the *really* cold stretch and it's easier to get sick in December because of that (as we saw last year).
Noosh, you need to know that the junior songfestivaal organizers basically turns their jesc season into a full on series, before the nf, during the nf, during jesc and even after jesc, they are VERY serious about this stuff It all starts with auditions which happens during may, then there is this vid of past dutch nf contestants that will surprise the contestant (secretly) if they made it to the final show or not, They will then take all of the contestants that made it and form to as following: a solo artist, a duo, and 2 girlbands They will then released the song that the participants will sing during the live show, and after that they will basically upload a bunch of fun video of the participants basically having fun togheter Then in late August (i think) they will upload the music videos of each of the 4 songs, and giving us a hint on what the live preformance could look like. After that they will upload more fun videos, up untill the rehearsels. And then the live show happens, the live show is very well produced, features postcards before each participant preforms, and after all the song are preformed, they will sing like their own common song just like jesc does every year. After the winner is decided they will starts this like "road to jesc" ish series where the representatives basically show people on how they prepare for jesc and even interacting w the participants from other countries After jesc they dont really post anything new, other than some new music that the jesc representative release from time to time Like i said they take this VERY seriously and idk if everything i just said is everything, but this gives u a simple point of view on how they treat jesc
Despite of saying this year was very dull in general, all these songs have been growing on me since that first listen. Definitely the best Junior Songfestival year overall!
The only way I see the Netherlands winning JESC this year is if Duron wins the song festival with a flawless performance and stronger vocals live than the studio recording. Sep & Jasmijn will probably place high if they win the song festival and make it to JESC, yet I don't see their song being special enough to win. Although it's a decent song with great vocals, I feel that it blends in with many other songs I've heard in the contest over the years and in workout videos from 2016 that my PE teacher would play during video calls for school. I've felt like JESC winners had something special going with their songs, such as Oh Maman! with Lissandro's funkiness or Not My Soul with its empowering vibe. I think that Duron has potential if his live performance is amazing, but also Sep & Jasmijn would also be a nice submission considering their vocals and all the hype they are getting. If I'm missing anything or not understanding something correctly, please tell me because I'd love to get other people's perspectives on this. :)
My top 4 1 Sep & Jasmijn - Holding on to you. Potential winner of Junior Eurovision 2023 for me. 2- Joy - Better Together. This is a good song I like it 3- Flare - Side by side. It's cute not my favorite but it's cool 4- Duron - Magic. This is not bad but not my winner
1. Joy! - So fun and upbeat and soooo very junior! 2. Sep & Jasmijn - probably has bigger chance at winning than Joy! but I just LOVE Joys!'s vibe. Very close though. 3. Duron - Very nice, but lacks a real highlight in my opinion 4. Flare - not bad but the most generic one.
I like Joy!, but it's again a girl group with a song about friendship and happiness, which we have sent a couple of times already. I think Sep and Jasmijn's song stands out due to the beat, but I don't know if it's suited for JESC? I do hope we sent something like that to the adult ESC once, because it would be different from what we normally send.
I like holding on to you I'm looking forward to seeing how they are going be staged. Neathelands is one to watch out for so is aremnina Georgia Spain and France and Poland
personally i'm kinda disappointed with the songs. for now i think i like Joy the most. i do hope that all these songs will sound better live. think this is one of our worst years (sorry to say this)
Magic is nice, charismatic and energetic as you said. He gives off Lissandro vibes. If he can transmit the energy of the song, sing flawlessly and provide a spectacular performance with an aligned staging I can absolutely see this winning. But he has to work hard because the released version doesn't have too much potential. (Btw I HATE TATTOO MELODY IN THE PRE-CHORUS, it makes the song much worse than it is) Side by Side is a typical ballad with some emotions. I agree, it's kinda radio-friendly. This formation is cute and suitable for JESC but quite forgettable and boring. And it sounded familiar because it has some patterns from I'll Be Standing. (Poland 2020) Better Together is indeed a joyful song, JESC vibes totally but it reminds me too much of Best Friends, plus I don't really resonate with this genre. Holding On To You: I absolutely love it, it's such a great song. I can't get it out of my head. So catchy, the production is high-quality, the singers are adorable. Basically, it's a full package and ideal for the Netherlands. However, it also has some weaknesses: the song may be too powerful in comparison to a child's vocal capabilities. I'm really scared of it flopping due to this reason, they need to prove themselves. Also, the staging needs to be executed perfectly, this is a song that is difficult for making it out alive. Probably the best path is a cool aesthetic, skating, having fun and unique camera angles with the combination of dark and vivid colours, especially white, grey, light/ice blue, purple, dark blue, black, magenta. It shouldn't be too risky, but this is of course only my opinion. Current ranking (I'm extremely bad at ranking, making toplists, I always make some changes.) 1. Holding On To You 2. Magic 3. Better Together 4. Side By Side
2009: Failed to qualify in ESC and won JESC. 2011: Failed to qualify in ESC and 2nd in JESC. 2023: Failed to qualify in ESC and 3rd in JESC? Imagine this happening for The Netherlands!
Not to be rude, but the solo acts that do not win the nationals, tend to fall out and to be forgotten by the main public. Sooo... I mean I kinda like Duron's song because its disco and groovy, but I don't think it's gonna do well AT ALL just because the girlbands are ALWAYS more favoured in The Netherlands. That's why they always rank high at the nationals...
I like the harmonies in Side by Side and the girls seem so lovely, but I agree with you that the song is a little empty. Also, I feel like the topic of girls being friends for life has been used A LOT in JSF. I think Sep and Jasmijn have a good chance of winning, I hope Sep his voice is strong enough, I wasnt the biggest fan of his voice in the auditions. Joy surprised me! I think it would be fun if they would represent. Duron his song seems a little forgettable for me, even though it is good. I am excited!
am i the only one that i see evry duo or solist win like its been years that a group won 2022 luna 2021 ayana 2020 then unity and then 2019 matheu 2018 anne en max
Ik ben blij dat ik geen winnaar hoef te kiezen. Alle artiesten zijn opmerkelijk. Im glad I don't have to select the winner. All the performers are remarkable.
oof I hate the mixture of Dutch and English I wish they stopped doing that it hurts my teeth hurt.... I will never like a junior eurovision song if they keep doing this. (fyi this is my own country) I don't have any issue with other countries doing this because I can't understand their language, with exception of german I would hate it if Germany would do this too..
fun fact, the producer who made the song Holding on to you for Sep & Jasmijn also made the songs La festa for Luna and best friends for unity!
yeees he’s so good!
Hij heeft wel meerdere liedjes gemaakt hoor
It's a sign that they will go to junior eurovision
@@edenmetcalf8421 that's your opinion and I have my opinion
@@edenmetcalf8421nah all of them are reallyyyy basic tbh only the one from sep and jasmijn has a nice and upbeat flow.
Watching this video from my holidays in Switzerland I had to see your reaction loved it! 💕 Can’t wait what we will send 🇳🇱
Miss you Vins!! I cant wait too! Have fun in Switzerland, have some chocolate for me.
Let’s gooo we’re on JESC mood 🤩
Really hope that Sep & Jasmijn will win this because their song is amazing !! 😍
Loved your reaction video !

hihi im from the neterlands thanks for reacting!!!
I cann't believe jesc season has finally came! ❤ I agree with you 100%
This is my first year where I’m gonna be following JESC and it seems like I’ve been missing out

Last year was way too late

BETTER TOGETHER WINNER

The part of JOY! song (Oooo) is literally the same as it was in the UNITY song.
I like Joy! a lot. It sounds so perky and the horns are nice. There's like a carneval feeling in it. Sep & Jasmijn maybe has more winning potential.
