I love that drive! Thank you for sharing. Brings back lots of wonderful memories, leaving So. Ca heading to the Sierras. Every summer, our family took vacations up the 395.
Thanks for bringing back so many great memories of Bishop. We lived up by Crowley Lake when my brothers and I were young, and as part of our P.E. class while at Mammoth Elementary School, they would take us up to Mammoth Mtn. once a week on the bus to ski, all free of charge for school kids in the area thanks to Dave McCoy, who owned the ski resort. My parents would bring us down to Bishop for shopping, and to buy the wonderful sheepherder bread at Schat's Bakery. Living in the High Sierra, which we called "God's country", was the best time of my childhood, and seeing videos like this rekindle the great times I had there.
Hi everyone, I pass though bishop 3 times a week, I have a dedicated run to Mc Carran NV, this day’s I take hwy 6 to nv 360 to 95 then 95 alt, then 50, then 439 and that takes me straight to Mc Carran, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU OUTTHERE, GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
I can't , there's no parking for big rigs, we can't even turn right or left, I'm pulling a 53' footer and my truck has a big sleeper, I wish that I could stop and admire all that beauty around the town, once I stop in the neutral lane to buy some pollo Loco, and I did, but also an officer reward me with a fricking parking ticket.
Thanks for the post. When I lived in Mammoth in the mid 70's and I would drive down to Bishop there was a coffee shop near Shat's Bakery I think that had on the wall a mounted Rainbow Trout that at the time was the Calif. record largest lake trout ever caught. Over 26 lbs. caught at Crowley Lake.

We lived in Bishop for a year, almost 20 years ago now. Love this town and its people. Greetings from Australia.
Never been further south on 395 than Mammoth. Thanks for the tour…..
Absolutely! I'll do more in the coming weeks! Thanks for watching!
