I saw the last video too. When drinking was a big part of your life and what added to the “fun factor,” it’s difficult to observe others partaking while you’re not. I’ve been through same. It’s not easy so I’m glad you stayed sober. Those who have never drank don’t get that. It’s a party culture we were used to. But, some of us start and just don’t know when to stop. Me at one point also. Thankfully it’s been years. The cigarettes need to go still. But I’m working on it!
The identity crisis is real. My ex (divorced 25 years) died a little over a year ago. We had one son (adult now) and still lived in the same town. It bothered me more than I thought it would. We hardly talked, it was just the finality of it all I suppose. And his heavy drinking played a huge role in his death. Our son was well aware of that and was unfortunately the one who found him. Knowing my son’s pain is painful. Because of his dad (and knowing I had issues), at 27 he’s never touched alcohol or drugs. I hope he remains that way forever 🙏
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I find it therapeutic and helpful in coming to terms with my own issues. Hope you have a great rest of your trip❤

Thank you. It was beautiful but who needs the ocean when you're already swimming in kindness and care for others?
