    My father was the us ambassador in Tanzania for 8years Somali people speak Swahili
    I am glad I learn Swahili.

    I have been learning from your beautiful land for the last 3 years, and now, starting to ¨jifunze" swahili to go to Tanzania in a few months, to understand and learn better but in presence, and maybe stay there to live.

    Jifunze Kiswahili sounds more like one of South Africa's Nguni languages , in isiZulu you will say "zifundise/funda isiSwahili"

    Just a clarification. Do we say mchana nzuri or mchana mzuri?

      Nzuri and mzuri are both used. The first by tanzanians the other by Kenyans. Just a small dialect difference

    it appears that swahili has got bits of all african languages, ive picked some words similar to languages spoken in botswana

      It is a Bantu language and some words are similar to those spoken in Southern parts of Africa

      It’s a Bantu language but the upcountry Kenyans have a mixture of English and Kiswahili in one.

    Can you also say: Habari za asubuhi, Habari za mchana instead of saying "Habari ya asalama ... ?
    Can you say "lala salama - sleep well or sleep in peace?"

      za and ya are singular and plural. Habari in Kaswahili means "news" or "information". Habari za Asubuhi means "news of the day?".

      You have to speak it more so that you can speak it well. If you are learning a new language, the best way is to speak it constantly. Don't give up.
