Go ahead and do this on all the drum hits necessary before mixing. Makes things easier in the long run..

Forsure! You definitely should do any of this before printing sounds! Ideally, once you finish laying the ideas down you can come back and refine things and then start the mix process once your entire session is in its final state🤘🏼❤️
