to make the peace temporarily still to not break the fine pins and not round the peace by having it move

Super glue is used in many different ways at the bench. For holding things temporarily to be removed later, , used for securely holding saw paper on to split mandrels etc, many uses.

Yes, lowly super glue is used on expensive baubles!
