1.Never order food from pantry in all trains. Mostly bring food from home.
2.Never plan next journeys soon after the train journey. Chances of delays r more than early arrivals.
3. Never book Sleeper for north India. Travel comfortably in AC. Or book only premium trains like Rajdhani Duronto.

Old LHBs and 20 year old ICFs are still better coaches than recent LHBs. Recent LHBs are of not so good quality, if you had experienced.
But LHBs are anti Poor.
Because of LHB coaches Railway is not able to add more unreserved coaches in normal trains 😢

Major nexus between Running crew and Local caterer and cargo handling. I heard from an extremely reliable source that trains used to halt for at least 5 to 10 mins for trains entering VSP and Toddy sellers used to make big business. This was at least 40 years ago when there were no Super fast trains etc. In 1990, I was travelling to VSP by Coromandel Exp and I remember the train stopped in Eluru to load lunch meals. The train was in the middle line as it was not a halt and there were at least 10 to 12 people carrying crates of food packets and loading the pantry car. Perhaps the most excellent meal I had.
