Lie To Me is about Lukes relationship with a past girlfriend, and it was a very toxic relationship. Ashton explained why the cars crashed into him in the most beautiful way. He said that as Luke's friends, they saw him in a toxic relationship but they knew he didn't want to be helped so they just had to sit back and watch it crash and just be there for him when it did. Lie To Me is so beautiful

A lot of this new album was from Luke’s experience with a toxic relationship, so that’s probably where that sound is coming from.
“Ghost of You” is a super good song to feel by 5sos. “Old Me” from their new album is really good too. “Invisible” and “Broken Home” can cause tears. Highly recommend! :)

I've always thought that "Youngblood" was about the toxic on/off relationships that tend to occur in one's youth.
"Youngblood, Say you want me, Say you want me, Out of your life, And I'm just a dead man walking tonight. But you need it, yeah, you need it. All of the time."
She's breaking up with him. And he doesn't want it. He's potentially toxic for her, and the part of "You need it all of the time" could be seen as a parting remark from him. A "I know you'll come back" type of thing. And then the lines afterwards:
"Youngblood, Say you want me, Say you want me, Back in your life. So I'm just a dead man crawling tonight. 'Cause I need it, yeah, I need it. All of the time."
And she does call back. Needing him again. And this relationship is toxic for him too. He calls himself a dead man; crawling back to her. Reminiscent of a 'dead man walking.' He shouldn't go back to her. But he 'needs it all of the time' as well. This chorus repeats, often like an on/off relationship. They'll break up with each other. And then crawl back to each other. Over and over again. Because they need it; as if it's a drug to them. Because they're still youngblooded and hotblooded and they haven't learned better yet.

I love hearing someone outside the fandom just take 5sos in and analyze their work and talent. Like I can tell you´re taking them seriously and vibing with them and it´s just really nice. My boys deserve that. They´ve grown so much and people need to see them as the amazing band they are. Everyone has just slept on them for so long. Hope this album finally makes them get what they deserve.
However good 5sos is on their albums, it doesn’t compare to how amazing they are live. I recommended listening to MYT tour live, the production they put into their live shows is incredible. 🖤

I love the way you described lie to me, cause the song actually is about being in a toxic relationship and how you feel in that moment! In the music video you can see the lead singer ( Luke ) alone in the car while the others are only able to watch without really being able to help and feeling helpless because of it!! This is such a cool concept, I've never actually watched any of your previous ones but I definitely will now! I love how deeply you analyse these songs and their videos because I feel like with stereotypically 'pop'ular groups and artists people tend to miss the important messages. Plus, 5sos tend to get underestimated because of the generalised misconceptions of them. Keep it up, would love to see a part two!

If you are taking recommendations, I will continue to suggest Fall Out Boy's "Youngblood Chronicals". It's an 11 part story made up of music videos for their entire "Save Rock and Roll" album and it is possibly their best album EVER! I'd love your opinion on the videos and to see whether or not you enjoy the music from the album
