Jimmy loved you too, Doyle. He loved getting to play with you, and he especially loved your heart and your faith in God. Thank you for this sweet tribute to my Jimmy, and for being such a dear friend to him, and to me. You are a special person, in addition to being an awesome musician. Thank you so very much for your prayers. I love you and your sweet family - Michele
Very nice recollections of Jimmy Capps. Jimmy had amazing technique, accuracy and taste on the guitar. I watched him not only on the Opry, but also on dozens and dozens of other TV programs over the years. I use to love it when they aired the 'Grand Old Opry' on Saturday nights and watching Jimmy, Leon and Spider. I was in awe of these monster pickers. Jimmy seemed to be a kind and gentle man. R.I.P. Jimmy. You'll never be forgotten.
In this world where most things are negative, it is wonderful to hear about such a fine person, I can tell that this is from the heart. Wish I could have met him, sorry for the loss of your friend. Thank you!
Good you got a final conversation and moment of prayer with your dear friend before he was on his way to the hospital for the final time. My condolences to you , his widow, family and all his friends and associates.
Loved Jimmy Capps, my condolences to the family, I highly recommend his book "The Man In Back", my Dad bought the book and shared it with me sometime back.
I'm new to this "scene" and I just totally fell in love with Jimmy a few months ago... little did I know he had passed away a few months prior to me finding Larry's Country Diner. Thank you Doyle... you are one of many that confirmed the incredible man we know as Jimmy Capps. The Lord's band has definitely been blessed and increased by Jimmy and while we will miss him, we trust and know that we'll see him again. in His name, God bless you brother
Loved him great Man true heart for people ,great guitar player I loved his blue ridge had one just like it, most of all I enjoyed his sheriff shirt and his smile
Great, heartfelt comments and recollections of Jimmy Capps, thank you Doyle. I’m from the same county he hailed from but never got to meet him, unfortunately. I enjoyed his playing on Larry’s Country Diner. There’s another video of him interviewed about a year ago people should check out...he’s sitting outside the home he grew up in and joined by a couple of friends, Clyde Mattocks and Charlie Albertson, just reminiscing past times and Jimmy’s musical history. (“TOB Doc: A Conversation With Jimmy Capps”).
Thank you for that loving tribute. I first noticed Jimmy Capps just a few years ago; he seemed to be in just about every country video I watched. I didn’t know his name then but he sure caught my attention. As a beginner guitar player in my senior years (shoulda started before my left hand turned 70), I was impressed by just how easy he made it look! You too, my friend. I appreciate all you fellows.
Thank you Doyle for posting this update! Jimmy Capps was a very talented musician & could play any style with anyone! I have enjoyed his music since his early days on the Grand Ole Opry & later on TV with Larry's Country Diner. RIP Jimmy Capps
I heard Jake Krack say it best when I was at Clifftop in 2008.. "Music is the Vine and Musicians are the Fruit on the Vine".... Thanks for sharing this video. All guitar players appreciate who you are and what you do!!🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
I am old now and sometimes. I can hardly wait to get there with Merle, John, Johnny, Jimmy, Jimmi, Jerry, George, Buck, and so many more. Its got to be heavenly.
Thank you Doyle. I am a fan of Jimmy Capps. I followed him on FB as I do you. Such a loss to the music world. The notes he played was always perfect & right on.
I have Jimmy Capps' book. What is really special is that Jimmy signed it and wrote me a thank you note. Read the book because it is special, just like Jimmy was special.

Sorry, I had never heard of Jimmy Capps, but send my condolences, and may I be so humble as to ask that, I am only hoping to see more of your guitar work for the same reason that you speak of in reference to him, such that you will be remembered as well. I love learning and admiring your playing that I've seen, but I don't see much of it in this format and can't afford to go to things such as the Grand ol' Opry. But Thank You. And I'll look into Jimmy Capps as well...😊

Great picker I listen to Jimmy Capps in my semi also learned a lot from his style will miss him and his personality, he never forgot people he meets he was a true friend
Rip Cousin Jimmy, I am truly saddened by his lost. I’m black Cherokee Indian my family was from North Carolina. I’ve never met Jimmy or my Capps family in person. I’ve watched Jimmy’s videos and love to hear him play the guitar 🎸. He’s my mother’s 2nd cousin it’s a shame that people sometimes don’t know their families. Regardless of race, I love all family not that Jimmy was a racist. But time is getting shorter and I would like to meet the other side of my face regardless of race. Why won’t they meet me ? It would be a blessing truly....
Great remembrance video Doyle. Jimmy was one of a kind for sure! I met you when you were with Taylor and you did a presentation at Magnolia Music in Ridgeland, MS. Question...did you know Bob Saxton??
