One completely underrated part of Prince's performance is that he continuously checks in with Petty to make sure he isn't going to overwhelm the vocals. The solos take off, but he never once steps on Tom's singing. Amazing.

One of my favorite inductees at a ceremony was when RUSH was finally inducted in 2013...the induction was by Dave Grohl and the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, who then ducked out and changed to perform with RUSH the song "2112: Overture". You should check it out eventually!

Steve Winwood is rock n roll royalty. He's also in the Hall of Fame w/his former band Traffic. He was a child prodigy, multi-instrumentalist and has a singular voice. Many famous rockers sought him out to work with him. Jimi Hendrix wanted to be in a band with him & Steve did play on Jimi's Voodoo Child song. Steve and Eric Clapton were in the band Blind Faith together. He joined his first pro band at the age of 14-15, Gimme Some Lovin is his world famous song while he was a teen. Traffic-Dear Mr Fantasy, Blind Faith-Can't Find My Way Home, won Grammy's in the 80s..Higher Love, Roll With It, Valerie. His catalogue is deep.

Steve Winwood is a long-time singer, keyboardist, and guitarist who started with the Spencer Davis Group when he was 15 as their vocalist, then moved to Traffic, then Blind Faith (and a couple side-projects, one with Eric Clapton) before continuing his career as a solo artist. Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith are all worth checking out.
Looks like he's on the keyboard for this one.

If I ever see a chance of time travel, I will book a ticket to see this live, on a loop. I can only imagine how it was right there like live. Just a moment in rock history. Rolling Stone did an article on the best 100 guitar players and they snubbed Prince. This was his way of saying otherwise. In my opinion, find me something even close. Second place is miles away. There are certain records that will not be broken. This is one.
I have to remind myself to breathe every time I hear this.
