- The difference in noise levels between the Venco Number 3 pottery wheel and the Direct Drive Pottery Wheel including the new Direct Drive Glide Pottery Wheel, as well as other features that are similar and the differences between the Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel and the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel.
First though lets go through the similarities
Both Venco Pottery Wheels come with a 3 year warranty and are backed by the quality assurance of the Venco Brand.
Both the Venco Number number 3 Pottery Wheel and the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel are made in Australia
Both are powder coated and have the same body, just different colors and different inside
Both the Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel and the Venco Direct Drive can be purchased either with or without pins (for an explanation of what pins are please refer to a different video)
The differences between them:
The Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel is a cone driven Pottery Wheel, and the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel is electrical, as mentioned using a Direct Drive motor
The Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel has the pedal attached on the side of the wheel, whereas the Venco Direct Drive is attached by a cord that you can position to your needs
The Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel motor is stronger than the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel and has more variation in the speed control
The Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel only spins in anticlockwise direction (for a right handed thrower) whereas the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel spins in both directions meaning you can throw either left or right handed
The Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel is slightly quieter than the Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel. However the newer model Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheels are a lot quieter than the old models - which is why we produced this video to show you the difference.
The Venco Number 3 Pottery Wheel is easily maintained by any fitter or turner (but if in the first 3 years please contact your Venco Rep for any warranty issues as you will want a registered agent to assist you and direct you to the authorised repairer). Whereas the Venco Direct Drive Pottery Wheel has electrics and has a circuit board. If again you have any issues, please get in contact with your registered agent.
