- Fairways of Life is joined by Jim Gallagher, a 5x PGA Tour winner and former Team USA member at the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup. Jim is also a Golf Channel analyst and he was on hand at Pinehurst #2 to witness the thrilling finish for the 2024 US Open, on which he shares his insight.
Jim is correct, there is something Bryson believe in fate because of Payne history in Pinehurst, it was Payne guiding Bryson on the last few holes, hard to believe but it is true.
Why do all the talking heads on the networks run defence for the Irish child? Stop sugar coating the medicine he needs to take.
I think Rorys departure before congratulating Bryson was classless
The course was great theater and the event was classic
I agree. If he didn’t want to talk to the press he should have congratulated the winner at least
Great tournament, exciting for a change
This guy is great
Best major tournament ever ❤
I’ve never felt so engaged & entertained for all 4 days of a tournament. The course was set up brilliantly, every hole demanded respect (or else!).
I only wish Pinehurst 2 could become the permanent home for the US Open just like Augusta is for the Masters.
USGA ruins everything it touches. Thought the course was ugly to look at, and frequently did NOT reward good shots. It's not that hard to make a course unplayable, and the USGA has a history of doing that (Shinnecock comes to mind). Ugliest course on TV since the one Spieth won out on the west coast. The US Open deserves better. Bryson is a changed man, and for the better!
The thing is tho is that once again the winning score was at least 8 shots too much, as it's been I recent years. And have you seen how often Pinehurst is going to be used in the future? I smell something bad as Pinehurst is not a very interesting course, much like Erin Hills and Chambers Bay were. Merion is a Masterpiece and yet there's been one US Open there in over 40 years. The wrong people are running the game.
Pinehurst has no water holes which means the pros get to leave their ball retrievers and water balls in the trunk.
imagine if Bryson could hit a fairway ⛳🏌️
He did Saturday. When u have a three stroke lead going into Sundays, not much can beat u
Don't like top of the hour.
Right?? Like thanks for sharing your very very unique and awesome perspective but, clock
I could have listened to Mr Gallagher speak for an hour
i disagree, it was agame of luck unbecoming to a PGA championship. The course was absolutly terrible , greens mickey mouse and grainy, favering too many golfers while talented players were not there. Its inexcusable , and the usopen should wake up.
Great course and fantastic setup. The course was perfect to determine the best golfer.
I disagree. It took some of the best golfers off the course because of how hard you made it. It wasn't even fun watching Scotty trying to navigate those goofy greens. I'd be pissed if I was a pro there.
If they were taken out - then for that week at least, they weren't the "best" golfers no?
US Opens have always been a test of not only good golf - but great mental fortitude.
That’s why the best golfers finished at the top, Rory, Bryson, Cantlay, Xander, what the hell are you talking about?
@Hhbdr The people who played the best golf prevailed. Scottie Scheffler couldn’t hit water if he putted out of a boat this week. You don’t deserve to win anything if that’s the case and I guarantee you he’d agree
