      Not much is easy on equipment when your in the woods. Especially mulching. You are correct there is a fine line between going to easy and to hard. Both have advantages and disadvantages. This guy seems about right to me. This guy has crushed a few acres in his day.

    I wonder how this compares to the Forestry Mulcher from Diamond Mowers. I have some property in Townley, Alabama. I just got done clearing most of it with a Forestry Mulcher from Diamond Mowers still have little bit left to do. Wished I had one these to test on it.

      Give a Call to Scott Brown. He's the rep around your parts. He can probably set-up a meeting with a end-user so you can see them in real time! in my opinion, disk and drum mulcher are hard to compare. I know we got the best drum mulcher and I'm pretty sure it's easier to use than a Diamond Mulcher.

      I have heard mixed reviews from the Terex. From what I heard, If you maintain it properly and add some forestry protections, it can be a very nice skidsteer. But all the skidsteer in it's class are similar. The guy in that video loved his and it helped him create his own mulching business!

      I appreciate your concerns and love for the environment. It may sound counter-intuitive to you, but most of us are environment lovers here too! when used the right way, this machine is a tool to maintain infrastructure, increase or modify the value of a land or protect communities near large forest from forest fires.
      I would love to explain a little bit more about our machine, in hopes that you will understand a bit more about it's general goals. I should point out that no trees are destroyed for the fun of it, most of the time the contractor extract useful wood from work places before mulching the slash and smaller bushes. It has the power to easily take down a tree but it's often used has a maintenance, finishing tool. Also it can be used to limit erosion on a hillside after a forest fire or to create firebreaks to help defend communities near forest fires. Did you know that the red cedar is killing all other plant life around it because it sucks up so much water ? invasive species removal is another useful thing our machine can do.
      Our machine serves the humans who control them and they take the contracts society gives them. Our machines are the safest, fastest and eco-friendly solution for land clearing a maintenance of right-of-ways... We manufacture this machine for specific reasons that are often driven by city planners, firefighters and environmentalist themselves.
      If we did not make this machine, there would be others that would make them or, even worst, contractors would resort to chemical clearing or controlled burns.

    Do you know anyone in Central PA who offers these mulcher to rent?

    • @featheredfoothill
      @featheredfoothill 6 лет назад

      Did you ever rent one? Just curious about experience with these. We aren't interested in investing 100K into equipment. To have this work done it's about $3000 per day in Oregon. We already have an excavator and experience with that clearing brush and carving trail on very steep rocky terrain. Doesn't matter how much time it would take us, but truly have to think they are rentable. And that's it's doable if you have some large equipment experience. Also, one might buy if they knew the value in it. Easily resold in a few years when the job is done (it's never done on our land).

    • @deniscimafincus
      @deniscimafincus  6 лет назад

      The mulcher can handle as large a tree as the opening can take. which in the case of a DAF-180D would be around 70 inches. Of course, it's designed to handle with ease smaller material. A range of material from 20 inches trees to bushes and palm trees would be no problem for the DAF-180D to mulch very rapidly... huge trees, however, you will have to slow down a bit and take your time but you will be able to get through.
      If you join our page on Facebook, We have several owner who posted clips of them mulching very big stumps and other kind of impressive big trees!

      Hi Liquid Flame!
      You would be surprised how well it does against hard wood... Do you own a mulcher? Are you looking for one? I can easily arrange a Demo day in your region to prove it to you. Also i can arrange for you to join a Mulcher discussion group on facebook with operators/owners from across north-america (owner of different brands of machines) and they will agree that hard or soft wood, it's not a match for a DENIS CIMAF Mulcher!

      I've been looking at one of these mulchers but I've been using a dozer with a root rake installed on it instead. Cost is the largest concern for me and without many people knowing too much about these, it's hard to jump out there and rent one because the cost is so high for a week. I'd be interested in a demo unit so I can compare time spent with the dozer clearing compared to a mulcher if possible.

    what a waste of wood!

    • @deniscimafincus
      @deniscimafincus  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Jim!
      I understand your concern. As they say in the industry, there are different tools for different jobs. In most cases with this tool, contractors extract the biggest trees for lumber and thin the rest of the forest with those machine to let the new tree grow faster. Sometimes they are used to mulch burned down trees to limit the damage done by erosion. In other cases, they are used to maintain worker access to both electrical lines and pipelines for better response in case of an emergency! In this video the contractor was hired to clear a new part of his property to plant new crops. The bigger trees were not harvested because the cost of renting a truck and the time to find customers for this wood was simply not worth the owner time. So there are multiple ways to use our machine and none of them involve recklessly destroying trees for fun. Every job has it's purpose. I hope I helped shed some light on the purpose of our machines.
