Yet when I ask I either get a no or if I get their number they never answer their phone when I call and never call me back when I leave a message. I still hear that, yet some of us were deemed unwanted, years ago. Decades passed, and now, some of us became dependable, stable, and safe guys to be around, but that too often translates to "Let's USE this guy". So, the tactic of ignoring women isn't also a scheme to get them interested. It's to protect ourselves, our peace. Too often, be that guy, and she'll use you as a stepping stone. She may even appear to be a genuine woman, until she sees her prize is in reach, then you're history. Unfortunately, this is normal.

If you meet resistance, if you see someone backing off, there could be other reasons why. And assumptions like this don't help, especially since a victim stance would be expecting a specific response, when it's actually to further discussion. Men, or women in some cases, don't necessarily back off, to seem like a prize. Sometimes it's because they see the writing on the wall, or they may be fine, altogether. Nobody to feel bad for.
