    Funny story... I was given a free 1930 AA truck with hubs but no wheels! I had to move the thing about 90 feet to get to a trailer so I ran 2 long board underneath it, jacked it way up and rolled it forward on several 55 gallon drums moving the rear one to the front as I went. I got it loaded but I had dry solid ground unlike what you have. Whith yours I would be tempted to try and pull the engine and transmission and anything else to lighten it up. Good luck!

      Thank you. I was about to do the wheel dolly and plywood route, but need up calling for a wrecker to tow it out. We had a lot of work just ot get it to a spot where we could access it, it was just a shame we had to invest so much time into somthing that "should have" been so easy to pull, line up, and load onto the trailer.

    Wish I lived closer. I would be more than glad to help you get it out. You have the right idea. With skids but you're front ones are going to have to be more like a sled. Junk car hoods work really well to slide. But I would my self use ratchet straps to pull the wheels down on what ever you slide it on. You probably even cut a old car tire to put on boards so the are curved and don't dig. I've got faith in you. You're not done yet.

      Exactly , turned up in front like ski's to prevent digging in .

      Thank you. After thinking of other options and resources available, I ended up getting a wrecker to tow it out for me. We just seemed to be fighting every step of the way on somthing that should have been relatively simple to do. If you've not seen it, I captured the wrecker getting stuck and the eventual removal of the car in a subsequent video.

    I have pulled things like that a few feet at a time by hooking a come a long to a tree or my truck and cranking it out a little at a time. It has to come with one of those. Are you trying to get it to a trailer or something that you can't get to the A ? Where is the A near? It is a good car, well worth messing with a little. Don't give up on it, might be some model A club guys near you that would have extra wheels and know how to get the drums off and free up the thing so it will roll.

      Thank you, I was looking at some logistis today and the short distance I got it, I might be able to use a tree as an anchor point and a few comealongs.

    What about one long plank on each side secured well at the front?

    • @duginvirginia5737
      @duginvirginia5737  2 года назад

      I was thinking of that as well. I had these planks already cut from a prior project and hoped they would have worked. As mentioned, a longer plank and then come up with some type of sled front so it doesn't dig in.

    That Model A has 16 inch wheels great upgrade try not to damage them. Still alot of good parts on it. You need to buy 4 Harbor Freight car dollies & some sheets of plywood to roll it on. If needed double the plywood sheets & put spikes so the stick into the ground. Roll it on the plywood & keep moving the sheets as u go along. I like the bigger dollies from harbor they have 2 models.

    You got to know somebody with a trailer, give them some money for gas an a 12 pack. Make sure you bring a chair just in case it doesn’t go on the trailer an sit an drink that 12 pack…👍🏻

      Thank you. I do have a trailer, but, I do not have a winch on it, and with as much trouble I've had pulling this car, I'm concerned that I may end up with a stuck trailer due to the location and hill that it's on. But, on the other hand, it would be a rolling load at that point.

    Bummer, your chain is still too long, put about 4 feet between your truck and that car and chain it tight, pull like your serious about it coming home

  • @jeremyedgell9989
    @jeremyedgell9989 2 года назад

    I don't know why you don't just go buy a winch? Or just rent something to drag it out! And be done with it.

      I'd love to go get a winch for my trailer, but I'm not parting with $800.00 for one just for this job.
