Hey bud, as someone that competes this is something for you to think about as well. Yes it absolutely will and does hurt. However, we condition our legs to withstand those types of impacts over and over. Also when you’re in the cage you will get a massive adrenaline dump and things won’t necessarily hurt right away. Plus it’s possible it was already numb at that point which is why he said it doesn’t hurt. Once you get hit enough that area will just be numb and won’t affect you as much if it gets to that point in the middle of the fight.

I was thinking the same thing about the ankle wraps. I'm sure it didn't help the opponent and definitely would rough up the skin more than just skin on skin.

This is why you don’t block a leg kick with your shin. This was just a case of poor muscle memory due to bad habits in training.

I distinctly remember seeing a guys shin bone one morning. I don't remember What card it was. I remember it started super early. The guy won by decision.
I didn’t like that stoppage, I don’t know if the excessive blood was a problem but the kid wanted to fight and could still move alright. I wish they were allowed to throw some athletic tape other it real quick and continue on. Shore was pissed he couldn’t fight
