Kaga is a perfect example of how to write a character, even if they don’t have much room to grow. Despite having no more than like 15 minutes of a presence in the game, she conveys so much about herself, the complexity of Chaos (she, unlike even other Ring of Gaea members, refuses to allow any power to demons, and fights for neutralizing threats). Even though I favor Law, I found her to be incredibly great as a character. Crazy how she managed to leave more of a presence to the player than most of SMT V’s cast, even the main characters
Kaga: "This is a job for the Ring of Gaea." Burroughs: "I'll register rhat as a new quest on the list." Damn, I didn't know that Burroughs knew Trisagion.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the best and most influential level in the shin megami tensei series. this level, when you first start up, is this city, and up until this point you've been surviving and all, but it's been mostly manageable. so you're in this city, and all around you demons are pursuing you, you break the barrier, and you're still being hounded on all sides, slowly worn and whittled down, all the while people, strong people, are talking about xi wangmu and how she's this powerful demon and "out of your league" and all the while, you can't help but to wonder what this "common boss" is going to be like. after fighting your way into her innermost chamber, you're shown cells filled with people she's keeping as prey, giving you the indication that not only is she powerful, she's easily powerful enough to keep humans as livestock for her dining pleasure. then you get to the boss and your first attack deals 1 damage, and ALL OF WHAT YOU'VE JUST BEEN THROUGH FINALLY STARTS ADDING UP AND MAKING SENSE! you were just lucky, all this time you were fighting through a demon infested tokyo, you were lucky, lucky you didn't stumble across that ONE demon that was going to be nightmarishly stronger than you. that this world you're in doesn't follow rules or pretenses, that you're not some hero fighting the good fight, you're trapped in a nightmare, surviving, fighting, struggling. seriously, this level was the best possible representation of the atmosphere the developers were going for in this game, the sheer reality of knowing that you were eventually going to have that one encounter that would be your last in a situation where you were already too weak to fight on. they really captured the hopelessness of the demon infested world.
TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer Also it's here where they really started to realize the "Unclean Ones" were no different from the people of Mikado. Deep stuff.
Erm... you can see it that way, Persona is a spin-off, so in Persona you have Demons as... personas. In this game you have demons, you cant call it personas :p
So I'm wondering just how strong Xi Wangmu is in this game. If there had been no interference from Kaga and her people, how strong would she be? Would she be stronger than Demiurge?
I mean, everything does literally 1 damage to her. That's scripted. So, it would take 4508 hits to kill her. If you hit her 8 times in a phase, that's 563 phases that will pass before she does down. Chances are that you'll simply run out of MP and healing items before you can kill her. She can be inflicted with ailments, though she resists most, I would inflict Sick to debuff her damage and make sure there are no misses. Edit: Although, Michael's Fallen Grace MIGHT override her resistance. The 4 Archangels would actually ve pretty good partners for fighting her. Uriel can inflict up to 15 damage with Kannuki-throw, Raphael could negate her self-healing with Stigmata Strike, and Gabriel could fish for ailments with Lamentation.
She's eating her... and then she's gonna eat me!
OH MAI GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD

BITCH I ONLY SMOKE MOUNTAIN DEW!!!
don't ask me how.
I'm still not sure how I do it myself.
+TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer It's not just luck though, it's because the ring of Gaea and the Ashura-kai keep demons under control
TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer Also it's here where they really started to realize the "Unclean Ones" were no different from the people of Mikado. Deep stuff.
I imagine Xi Wangmu's mouth and teeth looking like Pennywise from the It remake
Me too
7:43
She has tiger teeth.
To think if the Ring of Gaia weren't here our heroes would have been devoured...
Poor kaga... I was so angry vs this boss lmao. An impressive moment, I love the atmosphere of this game.
Got more atmosphere than AAA games I reckon.
3:07 that song transition was almost seamless
As TV Tropes says... Too Spicy for Yog Sothoth. I guess chinese doesn't agree with her, dohohohohohho!
I love her voice. Especially when she devours the humans.
7:48 To all my fellow people, struggle with all your goddamn might!!!
Apparently Atlus just loves their vore.
Digital devil saga
Thank you for all the videos =) I love the soundtrack for this game!
Yeah, I would have given anything to have had her as a coop character, rather than those other samurai... shesh.
Didn't know the game had vore porn. ;p
she's my main bitch now, she actually makes for an awesome summon.
LMAO, that was literally running through my mind during this battle.
songs too good tho, how can you focus on what's going on when you got this sick tune

it raises your atk(?) and your evasion
Thanks! :)
I actually checked my phone at 01:54 thinking that someone was calling me xD
omegaevolution you rock! Love your videos man:)
my team set up was not optimal on this boss and i had to lower the difficulty so yea...
what a theme!!!!
11:47 hAAAH!
Any attacks that would normally expose your weakness end up missing. I tried it on an enemy that smirked...
What a brutal boss. O30
It pairs nicely with an intimating xylophone.
Or is it tubular bells?
I have two of the same party members. She keeps rehealing. Even with decrease attack buff she wipes out my level 35 team.
I agree
mind filming the path to tsukiji?
:) LOL
