A no brainer and a definite purchase! Love Michael Powell and "The Archers". Sad so many shorts have been lost! Just watched "The Night of the Party" on dailymotion and was blown away by the quality of the print! Astonishing! Happy to see Ernest Thesiger from "The Old Dark House" and "The Bride of Frankenstein" on the short I watched! What's with the "e" on the end Splendid and Affair??? Thanks for the recommendation!

@@dermotfont-wk8gm thanks Dermot. It should be mandatory that all Powell films be restored and preserved. Every building in Britain should be examined for any trace of the lost films. Need to see more of Powell as a bumbling tourist. Amazing release.

It gives so much hope to know that these things can be rediscovered and restored. However, Powell would not be impressed by your camera work 🐈😹

@@steve4films no he would not. I’ve heard of the dish running away with the spoon but not the cat and the camera. Think of it as a homage to the end of the last temptation of Christ haha. Who knows, maybe some of the lost films might turn up.

Fantastic review! I have just got back from a short trip to the UK and saw this advertised in Sight and Sound magazine but missed the release date. I will have to try and get it. Whilst I was over I had the amazing experience of going to the BFI National Archive (videos soon!) and stood within touching distance of the film canisters for I Know Where I’m Going. My already high admiration for the BFI has gone up 1000%, it really is incredible all that they do. Thanks for the glowing review, it sounds a really thrilling release

@@neilsmoviechannel3199 wow Neil. Excellent work. It’s a mystery why I know where I’m going doesn’t have a Blu-ray but maybe one day soon. A Canterbury tale too. I know I criticise their sale prices but they do amazing work. Can’t wait to see your video sir.

@@leocoh89 have literally just uploaded part one video…I’m sure that day will come for I Know Where I’m Going. They had the reels out of the vault so perhaps plans are afoot
