What a great version of an absolute classic! I was 10 years old when my elder brother bought the record "The Seer". I loved it from the very beginning and since that time Big Country belongs to my lifetime favourite bands. I am glad that I could see BC in the 90s several time with Stuart Adamson as a young adult. I've seen them again with Mike Peters and in their current lineup. "The Seer" is to me still the 2nd best album after the alltime masterpiece "The Crossing". This title track is one of the reasons for this high appreciation. I've always liked the background singing of Kate Bush.
Hearing these songs really stripped back this way makes it easier to see just how well crafted these songs were. It wasn't for nothing that Clapton said, "If there's a guitar teacher in heaven, it's Stuart Adamson."

if I was to cut an album of BC covers as a tribute , this takes first spot on basis that Kirsten comes close to to the feel Kate Bush created on this track , despite production of the track reducing the Kate bush input from duet to back up vocals. Though Stuart had passion to his vocals. The Kate bit was reduced. Kate has become somewhat of a hit recently as her songs have been attached to popular tv shows. Kirsten could probably craft this song for a re-release and a top 40 potential. Or potentially overlay the Kate Bush feel to a number of BC songs, Duet with Father sort of thing, I love this version of the song. Thanks,
