I had the opportunity to fire a full-auto FAL several years ago, and while the recoil was... rather vigorous, I thought it was surprisingly controllable all things considered, especially if you really leaned into it.
I agree. I fired the DSA SA58 OSW's with an 11.5 and 13" in full auto and it was surprisingly controllable and with practice I imagine a shooter could get quite good.
Michael Hatfield yeah that’s about the same I fired. It was WAY more controllable than the SCAR I fired, and actually about the same as an under folder AK I fired that day.
Truth is, I'd prefer that battle rifle not to be automatic. Makes the shots more discriminating. It's the appreciation for the versatility of the .308 round. You aren't going to need 60% full auto fire. 1-2-3 easy peasy. There's hardly anything but a mountain for cover against the thing.
it was ment to be used on full auto using the bi-pod. unsupported only short bursts and only when absolutely needed. That said, with a bit of training it was quite possible. compare that to a G3 on full auto. that is a real pain to control.
Indeed. In my military servise,i used to have one of this.In full auto i managed to hit only 2 bullets in the target, from 100 meters distance. The magazine had 18 bullets. The same luck had almost everyone else. But this rifle was amazing in semi auto.
If you remove the fire selector from the semi automatic FAL, the rifle also shoots automatic! We used to do when i was in the army. The Dutch Marines use to have a automatic version named: "FALO" with a heavier barrel and a bipod. Year 1983
Have fired the semi-auto SLR version, and the section practise was to aim, fire one shot, then fire a second shot as the aiming point came back onto the target. This from a prone position; the 'watch and shoot' method. That means 16+ shots arriving on target in about 1.5 seconds, no-one knows where you are (if you stop fidgeting) and the contact has resulted in dead enemy. The 'feuerkampf' / 'firefight' method of volume fire to beat down the enemy's desire to shoot at you is, okay, but if you haven't hit anyone, then it's only about running out of ammunition sooner?
Ak is most famous because was classified as the second world assault rifle. Who had fame of be his rival was M16 and it's received the fame of be the first world assault rifle, but FN FAL was far more used even that don't received the same fame of the two others. FN FAL was the best Battle Rifle ever made, but not US and not even Soviet Union want this status for a Belgium rifle. Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and many other countries adopted him as standard infantry main gun.
@@celso8334 the FAL isn't an assault rifle, it's a battle rifle. An assault rifle uses an intermediate cartridge, not s full power rifle cartridge like an AKM. I agree, the FAL is super popular but nobody is adopting new ones. Countries are still buying Kalashnikovs to this day.
We had used the full auto within the Irish Defence Forces and my option is that's a great weapon to use even in full auto. I don't know why some people believe it's terrible in full auto, its possible it's not being controlled properly by the firer. I even think it is better that the styr platform. Well the Irish Defence forces reintroduced it into action service in specialised operations.
Fired it first full auto when I was with the Brazilian cadets. I can control it easily now, but not when I was 11 lol. Looking back I think “safety third” was the motto with those officers in charge of us.
Who can afford to shoot full auto anymore anyway. Having a Semi Auto is currently way more attractive than it's ever been. A rifle team all shooting FALs in semi auto would be a very effective and capable force. Look for Jerry Miculek shoot his FAL... He seems to do just fine.👍
Ah.....we did it on a British version SLR. Or shall i say, some soldiers discover how to shoot that baby in full auto, you can take one component out from the rifle and you will need some duct tape to cover the hole from dirt. We will use this in sentry, prompt position to shoot while you don't have a gun group support, no gpmg situation. 9 out of 10 times attack will come to these kind of sentry position because they don't see gpmg gun barrel stick out from the position, think it is a easy piece of cake. Not until it roar within 30 feet cross fire in the dark, it is a pretty good signal to discourage anyone on the opposite side and leave someone who have a slow feet to lay on the ground, you can see it from their eyes.
As he has it configured, yes completely uncontrollable. Placing a forward grip can help in the standard config. I placed a heavy barrel and a Lantac Dragon muzzle brake, recoil is greatly reduced and can place more rounds on target.
Yeh, nice one Skippy. What's with the cartoonish jumping around shit. L1MA1 FN FAL is not difficult to control, and if you fix the sights to your preference, they're very accurate.
did that kick just threw a grown man off balance?? well ive shot a semi auto ver. this one time and i must say it was indeed more force. certainly not impossible but id say not the most comfortable
Did my basic training with an SLR and for 32 years I owned an FN Fal . Till the socialist government of New Zealand confiscated them The recall on fully Auto although it was dynamic was also controllable I suppose being 1850 and 108kgs might have couldn't to do it that.
You train and learn how to control a powerful rifle on full auto, this is a professionals rifle not an ''anyone can pickup and shoot' club gun. These videos are interesting but for a true opinion try asking someone who actually used one in combat and see what they say. I can tell you they don't moan about the full auto control!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the opportunity to fire a full-auto FAL several years ago, and while the recoil was... rather vigorous, I thought it was surprisingly controllable all things considered, especially if you really leaned into it.
When you shoot the G3 and the M 14 after this you will feel how controllable FAL is🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ve actually fired a short barreled full auto FAL before and was surprised how *easy* it was to control.

Was it a 5.56? FNC model?
@@srj607able nope. Full .308. OSW.
Rhodesian Legend The FN FAL
We use this rifle for practically everything in Brazil.

bullshit. i have shot the full size, the osw, and the 18" in full auto. they are very controllable. if you missed that is on you, not the rifle.
If you remove the fire selector from the semi automatic FAL, the rifle also shoots automatic!

FAL slaps the ak out of the water and this is a nato weapon so it prob has seen the field more

20 rounds per video... Recoil TV truly spoils us with content.... Lmao.
My father used a FN in the Ultramar war in the Portuguese african colonies! Later we had a G3! Excelent weapons!
Full auto turn rifle 90° so spent round ejects upwards. And as to fully auto, the selector switch also has a huge part to play!!
You actually controlled it there for a while! What a mean rifle that is when it's pointed one direction goin full auto. Like damn
Good old FAL the first rifle l shot in 7.62, I was 10 years old 1988 and in the same year l shot my first Golck 17. Man lm getting old.

2:39 What it's like to chew 5 gum.
Would be nice to see you try this with the Rhodesian Halbec device on the rifle?
As he has it configured, yes completely uncontrollable. Placing a forward grip can help in the standard config. I placed a heavy barrel and a Lantac Dragon muzzle brake, recoil is greatly reduced and can place more rounds on target.
Was that a new dance move?
😂 I know, what a load of crap.
"Oh, gotta make this look worse cus I told everyone it was a terrible rifle. Take 392"
You handled it well. I’ve seen the FAL kick people around
Like the AK .. on full auto it wont hit a barn door at 50yds... But it will make a platoon of infantry keep their heads down & not shoot back.
Who's firing one 20 rounds 7.62 magazine in ONE burst in real combat ???
Ammunitions manufacturers love vidéos like this ...
I traded my file for a Ruger p90 9mm and I still had to pay the taxes on that handgun
I think the idea there is to burst fire, bro! Great rifle, though. More FAL and G3 content, please!
If someday gun law in indonesia is unrestricted, that would be my first go-to
2:35 of introduction, ads, talking, field strip, and then 1 mag dump. 😒👎🏻

I doesn't help you shoot a beast of a gun but your stance is off and your body weight is the same as a new born baby...
Big boy rifle in full auto. Cool as hell though.
@2:38 so it's true FAL rifle really make you dance..
did that kick just threw a grown man off balance??
well ive shot a semi auto ver. this one time and i must say it was indeed more force. certainly not impossible but id say not the most comfortable
Right arm of the free world...
Three him around like a rag doll until he got control of it!!
Lousy technique, period. Try attending H&K Academy if you want learn to shoot full-auto.
Love my FALs. Too bad 7.62 is so EXPENSIVE these days.
Brazilian Army Rifle ❤️
400 fn fal let it supply me farm veng go today
I’m glad that some countries fucked up making this thing FA!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Would never take that back for a different rifle!!
HK G3 same path as well
It should never be full auto. That's like making a full auto 50 cal.
you came for 2:37
But why soldiers ask full auto... From an Army server would be cause it is funnier full auto than semi
where is his accent from?
England. Yorkshire, I think?
I don't see those video F90
Every 762 sucks in full auto in pubg
Find someone new to edit the videos! To much music and to much slow motion!!
Did my basic training with an SLR and for 32 years I owned an FN Fal . Till the socialist government of New Zealand confiscated them
