Hello!!! I am someone with the same hair as you and I love how you took the time to put heat protection on it when straightening your hair. I just wanted to give a few tips that work for me whenever I wanted to straighten my hair. I’d first shampoo my hair and give it a nice deep rise, then I’d I condition it and before I’d wash out the conditioner I would detangle it (to help the next step be easier) then wash it out. Next I’d grab my hairdryer and a circular comb (or normal one whatever you prefer) and section my hair out. With each section I do I’d roll it around the comb (that’s why circular combs are recommended for this style) and put the hairdryer under it (setting for hairdryer is between medium or high depending on how well you hair locks in water, for me it high) and slowly unravel your hair from the comb with the hairdryer. I repeat it with that section until it’s dry, then I continue to do that with the rest of my hair. After I do that I section it again and get my straightener ready, while it heats up I put some heat protection on my hair (only a little, because the stuff I buy goes a long way when it’s little) then I start to straighten each section little by little. And that’s usually how I straighten my hair, but if I notice some dead ends I’ll snip like half an inch off (it does really effect the length of my hair cause it REALLY long after it’s straightened). So that’s a healthy was to straighten your curly hair and when your finished you could take a curl n’ iron to add some bounce/waves to it (or you could do it with a straightening iron whatever works best for you). That’s how I straighten my hair! I hope that if you try to straighten your full head that some of my tips help you, if not oh well you seem like you know what to do. Have a lovely day!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Please try blowing it straight with big paddle brush then using a steam straightener to smooth it out! The steam helps stop frizz and keeps it soft and shiny and straight longer! I get my hair silk like with zero relaxers because I keep it in good condition and the steam straightness are a game changer for me.
Y'all it takes so many rounds of straightening to get even mildly curly hair to be straight, this straightener did amazing for how curly her hair is. (Your hair is gorgeous btw)

Curly girl here, as some comments have already said wash your hair apply your styling products and heat protectant then blow dry with a brush. You are changing your hair temporarily with heat and blow drying while brushing will help do that much faster you will get much better results and it will be shinier.
As a curly hair person a little tip is to blow dry your hair before you straighten it so it doesn’t look frizzy:) Me personally I don’t like blow dryers so I use the brush version.

i would definitely use smaller sections that that because you damage the outer strands and the inside doesn’t get straight. blow dry it first and that does a bulk of the straightening. the iron is to press it finished. and detangle before because that’s just pointless to take raw curls and try to get them flat with the iron
Girl....Heat protectant good and all but its not the only thing you gotta do to make it a healthy transition from curly to straight. My suggestion: 1. Detangle 2. Moisturize & apply heat protectant 3. Lowest possible setting, blow dry or incorporate cool air just to help stretch the hair 4. In small sections, apply a little more heat protectant, and use a fine toothed comb to flat iron Note: dont recommend repeatedly go over sections with high heat but if you need to do a second or dare i say a 3rd pass, lower the heat settings before hand so you dont fry the hair Hope this helps ❤ I hope this helps
Heat protection is soooo important I was worried for a moment that you weren’t going to use it and you have to use a lottt and it will take a few times for it to be fully straightened! When my hair is fully curly and I have to straighten it, it takes about a hour and my hair is definitely not as big as yours!

Added tips use a serum or lightweight oil and styling foam to prep the hair and may I suggest a brush blow dryer or a blow dryer with a comb attachment
Noooo 😬 You don't want to use oils *before* flatironing because it's basically frying your hair like chicken. And styling foam will leave a residue on the hair *and* the plates, as well as make your hair stiff. A hydrating deep conditioner while under a dryer (silicone based if you're cool with silicones), thorough rinse with warm water and then a quick cold rinse to close the cuticle. Add a water-based leave-in, and heat protectant spray prior to blow drying. *Finish* with a light oil or sheen spray/oil on the ends and any flyaways.

A bit of advice, your hair could probably be much much longer if you wanted it but you would have to get products that suit your hair type and use protective hairstyles, my hair looks about the same texture and type as yours and I struggled with hair growth but those tips that I listed above really helped me.......just my advice okie
i have a really similar hair texture, and for the best results, i would blowdry and brush it out straight out of the shower, THEN section and straighten it! 👍🏽 it even makes mey hair look a bit longer than just straightening
Ok. First wash with clarifying shampoo, condition well, no leave in, heat protect, blow dry, tgen straighten in small sections and chase with a rat tail comb 2-3 passes max

I stopped straightening my hair because I got tired of a certain kinda people telling me it looked better that way, nothing better than my curls 😌
