In Swami Mukundananda's story, a fisherman sets out early in the morning to catch fish but, while waiting for daylight, discovers a bag of what he thinks are pebbles. Enjoying the sound of throwing them into the water, he tosses 24 pebbles before realizing in the light of dawn that the last one is a priceless jewel. Shocked, he regrets throwing away the others, realizing he had unknowingly discarded valuable treasures.
Swamiji explains that, like the fisherman, we often squander the precious gift we’ve been given-our human life-because we don’t recognize its value. The human form is unique and more valuable than any material jewel because it offers the opportunity for spiritual growth and realization. Even celestial beings, or devatas, desire human life for this reason.
Through the story and teachings from the Ramayana, Swami Mukundananda emphasizes the importance of understanding the value of human life. Only when we recognize this can we make the most of it by pursuing higher goals, as conveyed in Swami Vivekananda’s famous words: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached." The human form is a precious gift that allows us to realize our spiritual potential.

If we truly understand its value, we can live a successful and meaningful life by using this valuable gift wisely, helping others, and focusing on spiritual growth. This is the true purpose and fulfillment of life.

Devatas hanker for human body because they are in bhog yoni there is no karma for devatas. They cannot perform loving devotion to God as this uniqueness is only bestowed to human form of life by God.

In the Bhagavad Gita when after hearing from Shri Krishna that everything gradually comes to an end Arjun had questioned him as to if there is any significance of the human body at all or not. To this, Shri Krishna stated that the nature of the soul can be elevated only in the course of life while one is possessing this mortal body. Therefore be very careful of not making this divine body engage in sinful activities 🙏🏿
What is special about human body
a) Karma Yoni
b) Only body that can seek liberation from re-births in ignorance
c) Only body that has viveka
d) Now bless me that my prana leaves through upper 7 gates in this ignorance

@@Krishna-e6i no free will? I heard that devatas also enjoy sensual pleasures with apsaras. Isn't that a free will?
@@AkashSharma__ not exactly free will because devatas are only entitled to the fruits of their good actions in the past and they cannot break from the cycle of birth and death. When they exhaust their pious deeds, they will fall again in the other forms of life. They are also souls like us but all the souls can only attain the ultimate goal of God realization in the human form of life.

@@AkashSharma__ Sure. 84 lakh yonis means 84 lakh different forms of life. For example humans, cats, dogs etc. So when we say 84 lakh yonis, it does not mean the total population of all the souls. It just means that there are 84 lakh different forms of life in which the soul can go according to it's karmas and the human form is only one of the form in 84 lakh yonis, but the human form is the most precious. 🙏🙏
