@@SuffiReax yes! liam has done so much for us during quarantine and he makes sure to always interact with us. he released songs he performed and did shows, daily roundups, he goes live, he's on discord and interacts with us, i could go on and on. he's not appreciated enough, sadly but he (almost) single handedly got us all through lockdown.

Louis has always been fun and energetic but in years management took a lot of things away from him.
They took away most of his energy, smile, personality and relationship with other boys and told him not to be who he really is.
As you saw in director's cut from Louis there was a storyline about telling someone to wear a mask being controlled.
And when he left syco and Simon everyone were congratulating him.
He went through a lot♡
Yeah I have always thought Louis holds back a lot during press junkets especially the old 2013-14 group interviews It's when fans are involved that Louis truly shines. I know I'm biased but there is no one who deals with fans better than Louis and he does come alive during those kind of interviews
All narry interviews are the best. Their dynamic together is just perfect!
19:33 Louis is very energetic but the questions in this press conference are kinda too boring and repetitive for Louis. Liam takes the lead in answering (bcz obviously someone has to) when the questions are this repetitive and kinda professional. Louis is very smart whenever he chooses to answer a question but he also doesn’t have time for these press conferences, doesn’t waste energy on questions they’ve already answered a million times before. These press conference really are a bit too boring and you can’t even connect with an interviewer bcz there’s like a hundred of them in that room and they all just want to ask a question, not have a conversation. Louis just isn’t that type of person. He also has lots of energy, you can see that he can’t sit still, so really events like these aren’t for Louis. He wants to joke and mess around but this is too professional.
Exactly! Besides, they also did a lot of interviews that day, it must get tiring answering the same boring questions. I feel like interviews or just them alone in a room is more fun for them than press conferences.
And, the people there were asking all sorts of questions that are a bit too personal, like when they asked about their girlfriends and worded it weirdly. Obviously they have to answer but they very clearly didn’t like it. And that question about if fans ever did anything that terrified them, they’re obviously digging but everyone knows that Louis would never talk negatively about the fans. He’s said it before that when fans get a bit too excited they do things without thinking twice, so you can’t hold them accountable for their behavior when they’re that overwhelmed and excited (he obviously worded it way better than I did but the point still stands)
I understand Louis’ whole behavior in this tbh, it’s not like any of the questions were interesting enough for him to answer, so he’d rather give the other boys the attention.
19:51 Louis always said he's protective with his loved ones, I think he didn't like that question about Zayn's fiancee, yk the way the interviewer asked like "Where's that girl?" Sounded a bit disrespectful. He probably wouldn't like if the question was for him about someone he loves.

29:55 I disagree with what you said about being held back by fan preferences and think Max meant that it's more about being held back by the role they were given by their marketing team, because while Louis wasn't the most well-known to people outside of the fandom, he was definitely a fan favourite within the 1d fandom 100%. He'd almost always win over the others in fan voted polls and been shown a lot of support and had huge successful fan projects done for him, and fans love him because he's usually the one who makes interviews interesting rather than repeating the same boring, scripted answers. But in this one he must have been tired or had a bad day or something. To be fair, the questions were really boring because they had been asked these same exact questions like a million times, so maybe he was just over it

You saying that Louis always used to win in fan polls reminded me of something hilarious omg. Ok so back in 2014 this fan used to make polls, she was pretty popular in the fandom. The polls were about “which 1D member would you face the zombie apocalypse with”, “which 1D member could you listen to read the dictionary”, “which 1D house party would you pay to attend” and the such, then the options would be the boys. And Louis ALWAYS won, no matter what the question was, Louis was always the answer. So this fan was like so frustrated bcz as much as she tried to change up questions Louis always won by a great difference. So she posted something along the lines of “Literally y’all would pick Louis for everything, whose a$$ would you eat? Louis’. Who would you take a bullet for? Louis. Who can perform brain surgery on you? Louis. Who would you give up all your possessions and family for? Louis. I GIVE UP”
It makes me laugh every time I come across the post or think about it lol. Louis is always the answer. I would’ve chosen him for all of those as well tbh. Louis is just the person for everything.

Press conferences anyways have a different dynamic than others. The boys arent always their true selves during them. And at this point management control was massive and it def took a toll on everyone. But i think louis was prolly exhausted this day or smthn (plus the constant questions about zayns plans for the 'engagement' etc etc made zayn uncomfortable, hence louis' disapprovig expression and liam trynna make a joke out of it to lighten the mood) because he himself says that he loved being in the band and all four of them were close with louis in their own way it was/is truly precious. zayn and louis moments truly were iconic and you would see zayn interact more comfortably and engages in on the mischevious things louis does sometimes haha. The friendship dynamic between alll five of them is wholesome. So i guess some factors really depend on the environment theyre placed in
It is true Zayn is quite an anxious person, but I think the way he manages his nerves is too admirable and even more so when he is a public figure, I think Zayn has never been afraid to show himself vulnerable and that is something totally admirable and over you can all identify with it. But I also feel that he never said something that he did not want to say, if something identifies him is sincerity and transparency, he will not give you what you want to hear just to please and fit in, he will always tell you what he really thinks, without filters, I think it is a one of the main reasons he was so close to Louis. In general, all the boys are great, they all complemented each other in such a unique way, they have always been the most authentic and humble, several times they have said that they were uncomfortable with the celebrity label, because sometimes it represents a certain superiority that society imposes on you. , but they are the same boys who left their city, it is as Louis recently said "everything has changed outside, but I am still the same inside" and it is true, all the boys have had their feet on the ground and their gaze on heaven.
Harry has always had great communication skills. My favorite (short) interview with Harry is in the early days when they were in Australia, and one of the reporters looked like Harry's dad. It's so cute.

after watching sooo much of louis, I always said louis has/had the best relationship with everyone in the band, like he was always so caring with niall, closest to zayn, and till this day him and liam are best friends. And aslo him and harry were like the best friend since the day 1, he really is one of those poeple that makes you feel comfortable, but then he is camera shy a bit, and he was not confident that much, he even said that in an interview, he always thought like the other guys were better than him.
As you watch so many interviews you"ll understand when the interview is a bit more private, like the lads and the interviewer; he is more comfortable and he makes more jokes and stuff.
But in the places like this, that they are so many people, that he don't know them he is a bit more quite or like he take a step back :)

- a lot of people who worked with them said themselves that it's the boys being the way they are that attracts so many people. Them being relatable and lovable is what sells, obviously.
- you were probably confused about the video diaries comparisons he was making, it's another 1d reaction you haven't seen. If you wanna react to that one as well, it's up to you ; personally I'd love that! It's from 2011 and they were really young so Max noticed how different they acted (Zayn being energetic, Harry more introverted, Louis being super extroverted, Niall having fun watching Louis and Liam silently having fun with Louis).
- "they complimetn each other really well" I said this so many times but I'll say it again... Harry and Niall's friendship >>>>>>>>>> any other.
- Zayn and Harry's friendship will always warm my heart, no matter what. I love how comfortable they were with each other. Same for the others.
- About what you said about a guy complimenting a guy ; definitely, I feel like society made it awkward for guys to compliment or touch another guy, and when they do they're like "no homo". That's absolutely ridiculous. None of them are like that tho, they're the opposite of toxic mascuclinity, you just have to see the way they act with each other lmao, they're even more touchy than my friends and I. Zayn's the best example to me bc he always seemed to be really comfortable with that instead of speaking.
- Yeah Zayn's answers are always great, he's very smart actually. Harry said in the video diaries (when they were asked which band member they'd like to be) that he'd like to be Zayn bc he's very clever.
- Harry definitely had a huge fanbase while in the band, but I think the reason why you think he was most people's favorite is also bc of the media. He was kind of pushed in the middle (that's why Max was surprised when he watched the video diaries, bc Harry was quiet in it) bc he kind of has the personality for it. A lot of 1d fans has their favorite, but it was much more diverse than what people tend to think, I think. It's different since their solo careers tho so it's hard to tell now.
I'm a lou girl and seeing him like this makes my heart ache for half a day...

I think Louis was a having a bad a day that day, theres 3 other interviews that same year just like this one where he was being really quiet and there other boys kept looking at him at him and each other kinda like they were asking what’s wrong and Zayn was trying to cheer him up. Sad to see him like that, but yanno, he’s only human an all.
I think it’s the fact that it’s a press conference that made him so quite. Press conferences are generally boring and you can’t connect with people in them, which Louis loves more than anything. Interviews with just one or two interviewers are more his style, or even just them in the same room, he feels comfortable with that. But press conferences are too official and professional, with like a hundred people in the room just wanting to ask questions. It’s boring.
Good years....I miss that time so much....

You should watch Harry and Niall's complete video, he cut out parts and (put the full analysis on Patreon) the best part of Harry's answer lol. When Louis was talking about always saying the same answer about Simon and that he wishes they could come up with a different answer and then turned to Zayn, I think they were just talking about what else they could say instead of the same answer. They do hundreds of interviews and people tend to ask the same questions. All the boys were more subdued and professional for this interview, it was a huge press conference for a movie that they were going to have in the theater.
I have so many recommendations lol but most are from their tour cause that's when they really go crazy

I don’t think Louis likes press conferences
Yeah definitely, they’re boring tbh, even for us fans. These people just want to ask questions, not have a conversation. And Louis is a people person, he doesn’t like staying all professional answering questions all the time, he likes connecting with people but you can’t really do that in press conferences.
This band is amazing and fun but has a lot of really sad facts behind it.
When I first became a directioner it was so fun and interesting but the more I got into details and more depressed I got.
One of my friends is pretty much like Zayn, she is quite quiet (love English lol) but her timing is so good when she does speak it's always something everybody take on board and really listen too. I feel like I'm a bit like Louis, I tend to talk over people sometime (if he does that according to your theory and I agree with it) and I don't really like this quality in me. I wish I had better timing))
I've thoroughly enjoyed Max's analysis and your reaction to it. You should do more things like that, maybe some interviews. Because people usually react to fanmade compilations so if you want more fresh format, this might be the thing. Nothing bad with compilations though, I've seen them tons of times and I gladly watch reaction to them as well. No pressure LOL

yes their relationship was very good. The five falling in love for each other in many/different senses of love but when they graw up more became reserved to share love with a third person. In case of Zayn and Harry they seem to be soul mates but are different in the way of showing their feelings...That was one of the causes of separation...and that´s why they are in some kind a litle hurt with each others. The separation is very difficult to handle because they have saudade of that synergy and Zayn was the heart of the group. Zayn is hurt because expected more support of others. He wanted to do different genre of music but he didn´t want to leave the group in that way. He left because wasn´t really ok with is problems with anxiety, eating disorder, smoke and those problems maybe were aggravated (I say maybe because images, behaviors and lyrics of musics that i see and not that Zayn said in concrete) because he realized late that have feelings for Harry that he didn´t expected... different from sef-awareness interactions ...
