Ballerinas of Cairo

The Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East goes behind the scenes with the Ballerinas of Cairo - a project started by an Egyptian photographer in 2016. By photographing ballerinas dancing in Cairo’s most recognizable streets, they aim to change the way people view ballet in Egypt. What’s it like for these women to dance in the streets of Cairo?
