Usually at night it is upper 40s and 50s if I remember correctly. Sometimes warmer. But.... one year the dew froze on our bikes, and we had to bang the ice off of our seats before we left TA. The dew happens all nights so plan on everything getting just a touch wet which makes it cold, even in the 50s. It's always good to do a gear check for long periods of time just to be sure everything is dialed in. A piece of gear may work for a 1 hour MTB ride but after 300+ miles, not so much. A seam on your bike shorts, the size of your bike shoes or the fit of your cold weather gloves could really throw you off.
We have a ton of videos on our page documenting our past 4 Sea to Sea races. Many teams study them to learn how we pulled it off. Plop questions in the comments and we will try to answer them for ya. Good luck.
Love the idea of a minnie test of your gear. This will be my first sea to sea this year. What's the coldest it has been in all your years doing it.
