  • Can the Yamaha XT250 shred? Hell yeah it can!
    Well, I give it a shot and see what my XT can do in the West desert of Southern Utah. Honestly, I think my XT250 is a more capable bike than I am as a rider and I take my bike through some enduro style riding on this trip and it performs great!
    You can certainly get plenty of adventure out of these smaller motorcycles and I am thoroughly stoked with mine. I just added some new Acerbis X-Factor hand guards and Double Take Mirrors to my XT250. Bike is looking (and running) excellent!!

    Absolutely love my XT250, I get so much excitement and joy out of the XT250! After 12 years of riding bikes starting on a ninja 250 as a first bike and going through everything up too 1300 cruisers, I never would of thought I’d find myself back on a 250, yet here I am and having a blast! Picked mine up last year!… that area looks like so much fun to ride in!

    Bro, If you can, one day, check out trails in southern AZ. Most of these trails are what we see all the time. You'd love it! I've only had one up hill slope with massive rocks that made me quit. It's always a great mix and great experience. Keep on being safe and riding bro! PS Love my XT250 1000 miles on her in three months, all trail riding! Great vid!

    I had an XT 250. It was a good bike. But I didn’t love it. I traded it for a KLX 300. That’s a bike I love. Keep eating up them trails brother ✊

    You sure that was you riding, looked like me, except I would have dropped it more than once. My previous bike was a Yamaha 250 Enduro, 1970. After about 20 years, didn't have anybody to ride with, gave the bike away. Almost 30 years later I find some friends to ride with, buy a new XT250, about as close to my old bike as I could find. I'm 74 now, don't have the energy I used to have, problem is I'm too careful, go too slow, don't keep my momentum up, need to be more aggressive.
    Thanks for sharing, I'm not the only one huffing and puffing - Jim

    What's best about this bike in particular is the fact that it's fuel injected AND has rocker arm type of valves making it one of the easiest bikes to maintain. If I didn't have my mind set on a TW200, I'd have gotten this bike for sure.

    Hello, I subscribed to your channel and have been watching your videos for a few months now, I own a YFZ450, a TTR230 y a VSTAR 1100 Custom. As you can see I am a big fan of the Yamaha brand :).. but I always wanted a dual sport bike. I searched for months for the perfect bike for me since I'm a big dude, but I wanted a bike that wasn't too powerful since I wanted my kids to be able to keep up with me on their Kawasaki KLX110s when off-roading. But at the same time, I wanted a motorcycle with which I could jump on the freeway if I needed to. The XT250 meets those criteria and is exactly what I was looking for, so I just got myself one last Saturday. Watching your videos made my decision process much easier. Keep up the good work and thank you for making those videos. 🤠

    Smaller bikes like that are easier to run through the rough stuff. They will also get you hurt when your feeling spunky. Be careful! Good video!!

    Great ride along and camera work 👍. Your's is yet another great video showcasing the Yamaha XT250'S proven track record of reliability/durability. Wishing I had a playground like yours to enjoy mine on. Since I don't I decided to try and morph mine into a more concrete jungle capable ride by installing Procycle SM wheels. Currently in the process of finding the sweet spot gearing wise to accommodate the smaller 17" wheels. The amount of accessories available for the XT is great too.

    Dude, you were in mountain goat terretory... Doubletake mirrors are the best, on my Honda CRF150 here in Vietnam and CRF250 Rally in the Philippines, same as yours but no adapter needed, since no real good way to tighten up the rubbe ball mount, I used a rag, Vicegrips and used red #277 thread locker and tightened as far as i thought i should go and never have come loose.

    At 10.02 you could have easily fallen over to your right and broken some ribs or an arm. Hope you are carrying a spot or Garmin enreach! I always carry one when I am out.

      I wrecked bad on the XT today, thought I broke my ribs on left side...knocked the wind out of me. Hit a rut on a dirt road doing about 35 mph and went down, handle bar went into my left arm pit. If I wasn't wearing the gear I'd be in the hospital. Anyway, it'll be in the upcoming XT video later this week.

      @@precipiceofgrind Glad you are alright. Couple years ago fell on my Himma and bruised some ribs, fell over last fall on my XT turning around on a trail and did the same thing.

    Awesome XT videos, thanks for making them. I just bought a 2023 XT 250 and am getting ready to take on on some BDR sections in Oregon and Washington in a couple weeks. Quick question for you.... From the GoPro footage you are posting in this video, it *appears* that you are riding mostly sitting down, is that true, or are you mostly standing on the pegs and it's just hard to tell from the GoPro angle? Thanks!

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  Год назад

      Appreciate you watching! I try to stand as much as possible on my XT! Sitting for any length of time gets uncomfortable for me so whenever I can stand, I do so.

    This or a DRG650 for a first bike? This seems “safer” but I can see myself out-growing it and wishing I bought the 650…

    Thinking about buying one of these. On these rough roads which looked like Utah, did you bottom out? Was it hard? Or was this stock suspension good at taking the bumps and rocks?

    • @precipiceofgrind

      Stock suspension been fine for me but I haven't had a bunch of gear on it either and I weigh around 170 lbs.

    Love that Sand 4 jacket, got one in my wish list. what size is it and what is your hgt/wgt?
    My “confidence “ bike is a CRF300l set up about like yours. Traded a 2017 CRF 250l for it. Almost liked the 250 better, but have warmed up to the 2021.
    Love your video and playground!❤

      My jacket is sized Large and it's great, not tight so I can still have layers under jacket. I'm 5'10" and around 170 lbs.

    Great video and awesome enduro riding, totally not doing that on the KLR. Are you planning on doing anything else with the 250? I got a chance to ride one after reading a few reviews and quite a few owners were happy the switched for a lower gear ratio even when offroad. After riding it i can see why they do. Also just curious how many fuel bottles you take with you when you are on the xt?

    • @precipiceofgrind
      @precipiceofgrind  Год назад +1

      If you mean if I'm planning other mods/accs to the XT, yes..I am. Got the Cyclops H4 10.0 light I'm going to install and replace the stock seat with one from Seat Concepts. My KLR is still too new to torture test but I'll probably be up for it once it gets a few more scratches and dents on it! I always bring one fuel bottle, you just never know. Thanks for watching!
