So glad you guys did Puertorican snacks!!! As i puertorican, I found it interesting that they didnt know the difference between platanos (Plantains) and guineos (how we say banana), i didn't know other latinamerican countries said platano for both plantain and bananas lol
Where we’re from in Mexico we call plantains platano macho and banana is just platano
@@asucenavalentin3203 oohh that's so interesting! Now I wonder how they would have reacted if they were called platanutres maduros lol
I was confused too 😂 I was like uhh plátanos are plantains and bananas are well bananas 😂 for me guineos are the boiled (I think) bananas that turn gray
Maybe they would’ve known of they heard it in Spanish. We cook plantains in Mexico too.
in Brazil we call plantains banana da terra and use it for savory dishes like moqueca
As a Puerto Rican that lives in the island, I always feel so much pride when I see other Latinos appreciating my island's culture. (P. S. them Florecitas can be addicting no lie)
Omg right! I get so happy when people from other country's talk about us :)
I agree, Florecitas are damn good but so addictive too
Sameeee !!!
OMG SAME
For real
I'm Puerto Rican but I got respect for the Mexican culture and the people
Me too
same here
Same here my brother. Nothing but love for our brethren South of the border. I love this.
I'm puerto rican, and I love our food. But when it comes down to Mexican food. I LOOOOOOOOOVE THEIR FOOD.
It’s very good miss Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
😁👍🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Growing up Boricua I honestly thought everyone ate these snacks this is the first time I’m learning that only Puerto Rican’s make these.
I brought those sesame snacks the last time I was in PR and my kids’ reaction was not nearly as nice as Las Mamas’ reactions.
I vote to send them all las Mamas vacation to San Juan. 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
I'm Dominican and I grew up on these. I guess a lot of these snacks like the plantain chips are popular in the Caribbean
@@Gimmie_my_legoz my family is puertorican and dominant we love these jaja
Definitely plantain chips and Malta are a caribbean thing, coming from the non Spanish speaking islands like St. Lucia
I was born in Humacao Puerto Rico left to New York when I was 8 went like 3 times on vacation and it’s been 20 years seems the last time I went .
Malta really is it’s own thing, so you can’t really compare it to other sodas, and it has a very distinct taste to anything else out there, so it is for a specific palate. I love my big Malta (they come in both this bottle and the big, more beer-looking bottle) with an empanadilla de pizza (which is like a pizza turnover) in the morning!
I love Malta
Malta is a very acquired taste, there’s not much you can compare it to 😂
You are correct about the taste. It's my favorite super cold! You either love it or hate. I've never met someone in between. 😂
Beer is closest thing.
when i was little i didn't like it but as i grew up i love it. Malta is like a childhood memory for many of us
Love maltaaaaa
I hope they drank it cold. Makes all the difference
As a puertorican, I liked how unique they're opinions are, and how they tried to compare the flavors of my dear island's snacks. I hope the experience was a cool and very unique for them.
I'm from PR!!🇵🇷 The garlic Platanutres, Florecitas & Malta are my favs!!😋 Malta is a very popular non alcoholic beverage here! We drink it with almost every food. There is a plain Platanutres version too, no garlic! You should try more puerto rican snacks!!
Same. Sesame seeds and pilón.
I LOVEEEEEE GARLIC!!!!, (Fellow Puerto Rican!)
Bro Malta is 💯💯💯🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
We from Puerto Rico that sooo cool
This warms my heart as a Puerto Rican I love all of my Latin Brothers and Sisters from around the world, they all bring something special and beautiful to the table.
Yes, make them try Puerto Rican, Cuban and Taiwanese food.
Agree they need to try some South-East Asian foods
Filipino food too?? 🤔
I believe that they tried Filipino food already
@@avagreene-taub9710 I believe they tried Filipino snacks, but not like “real” Filipino food like kare-kare, lumpia, pancit, adobo, etc.
Yeah they tried store bought snacks, but no formal meals. They should try all of the meals like you said
Im so glad to see they liked our snacks! One day I'm gonna go to Mexico and see what they have to offer! As a Puerto Rican,I can confirm Puerto Rico foods do come from from all around the world and we also of course have our own snacks here! I hope when people from other countries come here they'll like what we have. And I can also confirm,Puerto Rico is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been!there's beaches,Resorts, hotels, apartments, private schools, collages and much more to offer!I hope one day we can visit other countries as well!
Enjoy what we have to offer here in Puerto Rico if you do come!^^🇵🇷❤
They sell Puerto Rican snacks all over Florida, NY, NJ and many other states. Malta India is made in my home town in PR and they do have a little sweetness to it. It has caramel and corn syrup. Kinda like molasses soda. I thought all Latin countries knew what Malta was.
Yes and we have Puerto Rican snacks in Chicago!
Malta India does not have corn syrup, it has cane sugar
My grandma in Argentina used to drink for milk production. My mom was born in 1937. We love Malta!!
Idk how they compare it with beer it's a huge different taste. 😅😅😅,and of course they had to put it in the fridge and try it cold. 🤷🏻♀️
back in the day, I was staying in Maryland and after months there I found a 40 onz malta in the Latin sec of the supermarket and gave some to my Mexican roomies they hated it 😂 😂 I love it so much but I know it's an acquired taste.
Yes!!! 🇵🇷
They need to try Puerto Rican food.
I hope they do it traditionally 🫶🏼
Puerto Rican food is amazing I miss Puerto Rico been in New York almost all my life was born in PR
yesss i love this because im half puerto rican and half mexican next they should try puerto rican foods like pasteles, arroz con gandules
Tu si comes bueno.
So am I. But I would like for them to try Puerto Rican pastries like quesitos. Puerto Rican pastries are far more delicious and moist than Mexican pan dulce.
@@evoman44Hell nah 😂😂
@@youngkat1400 Then visit a Puerto Rican bakery so you can see it and taste them for your self. Trust me that you will find at least 1-2 pastries that you will love. 😉
@@evoman44go to a good bakery, most ones at the store are dry as a mf, get them freshly baked and enjoy with hot chocolate or coffee
As a puertorrican I love mexican food/candy, I love the love between our countries🫶🏻
“Have you had snacks from Puerto Rico?”
“No where do they sell them?” -Lucy
“Probably Puerto Rico”. 😂😂😂
And every bodega in NYC too....Believe me!
Wherever there are Puerto Rican communities.
in the bodega?
Florida, virginia, boston, brooklyn, NY in general 😂 and some places closer to the east coast
If they went to the hood in NYC you would see some of the lollipops in the bodegas.
7:36 bro they have then hot Malta bro. That’s mad disrespectful. You gotta put that thing on the really cold part of the fridge bro. Daaaaaanggggggg
😂
I agree, cold amd never use ice
I thought the same right, because Malta Olny drinks cold and never puts ice on it, and if you put some milk on it and a little sugar, it tastes very rich too😋😋🇵🇷🇵🇷
5:21 “We’re Mexican, we eat sesame seeds in mole.” It’s true, I just finish eating mole with sesame seeds. 😂
Can we talk about the glow up of the mom with the short hair? She looks like she aged backwards from 2020 to now!!🙌🏼 I absolutely love all of their energy!! Platanitos and Malta India were my favorite growing up!!! Love my culture and I love to see you guys share it with the world!! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Y’all really make me proud because I’m Puerto Rican on my father’s side, and proud of it.
Same! What are you from your mom's side?
@@Seroxm13
Italian-American
@@KingdomofEvania100 that's a nice mix!
same too
Am Puerto Rican and Mexican and I got the BEST of both worlds!! Both their foods are AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!!
I think the moms deserve a trip to Puerto Rico to taste the food.
I’m happy you guys tried Puerto Rican Snacks! I’m Mexican and Puerto Rican and I recommend you guys try the food. Arroz con Gandules is the national dish and is made for every party and holiday. Mofongo is smashed plantains with some garlic and usually eaten with shrimp Or with any choice of meat . Pernil pork shoulder that is marinated over night and then cooked on low heat in the oven for about 8 hours by then it’s very tender and you have to try the skin of the pork shoulder cause it’s very crispy . Also pasteles they are kinda the same concept of Mexican tamales but completely different have meat in them the masa is usually made of different vegetables and are wrapped in a banana leaves and then boiled usually made for Christmas. ❤ if you want to try some alcoholic beverages i recommend coquito it’s somewhat like rompope. It’s served cold is made with rum carnation milk coconut milk coconut cream and cinnamon and condensed milk you can also try a virgin version without the rum very tasty either way.❤ 🇵🇷🇲🇽
*the pernil is cooked for 4-6 hours on low heat in oven and is tender
Finally some love for the Puerto Rican community
Gracias 🙏🏻 Desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 que viva Mexico 🇲🇽
Llevenlas a Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷
As a Puerto Rican I was so delighted to watch Mexican Moms to try our snacks, go visit Puerto Rico which is so beautiful, and i love Mexican Food simply delicious..
Even I who grew up eating all of these can see how they might be a bit too strong in taste 😂 Especially dulce de ajonjolí and Malta. I personally go with the "light" version of Malta cause it's less sweet and thick.
Next time give them besitos de coco, the piña colada version of pilón and guava paste with cheese, those are bomb! There's also the puff pastries like quesitos and pastelillos de guayaba.
Oh my God! This makes me emotional! I’m Puerto Rican and I love this channel. Thank you for this video! And yes 🙌 a ticket for Lucy and all of them to visit our island of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🏝 ❤️!! ¡Les queremos mucho! ¡Viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 y viva México 🇲🇽!

Yes!!! Have them tried arroz con gandules, pernil, ensalada de coditos, pasteles, alcaparrias, rellenos de papa, empanadillas, bacalaitos, etc 😂
Arroz con gandules wow con pernil banging all good 😊
😍👍🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I'm a Puerto Rican that loves Mexican food and the snacks God bless these Mexican women and the people of Mexico 🇵🇷❤🇲🇽
That would be so cool if you could make them try there meals like mofongo or there rice🇵🇷🇵🇷
I'm mexican, and I grew up with majority of these snacks and let me tell you..... I love them all. Except the mango thing, I've never tried it but I can tell I would like it!
I’m from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 ❤ I got excited when I saw you guys try the snacks 😊 love this.
I’m so happy that our Mexican brothers are trying out our candies and snacks from my home island Puerto Rico. I appreciate it thank you. 🙏 🎉 🇵🇷
Yes thank you! I am puerto rican and often don't see much representation of my culture thank you so much!!
This Puertorican loves her mexican mamahs!!!!
As a Puerto rican I loved this! On my time living in IL I had the pleasure of eating a lot Mexican snacks from friends and honestly an amazing experience!
would be fun to see a travel video, where they go to a different place to try different foods, doesn't have to be far.
Disneyland!
Malta is sweet black beer without alcohol, this is a drink that every kid in Puerto Rico loves, they taste super good if you use them for float with some vanilla ice cream ❤
This video takes me back to my childhood 😊
Yess send them to PR an other countries, I would love to see them go to different places and review their local food that would be epic!!!
Green Bananas, and Green Plantains, for cooking. Bananas and Plantains do taste different. Ripe (Yellow) ones, have high sugar levels.
Once they ripe, the plantain and bananas do turn softer and softer and starts to deteriorate turning the peel into black color. Ripen Plantains arent sweet, but are used to make them Fried (Platanitos Fritos). Cuz the flavor turns like sugar.
Yellow bananas once ripe, are sweet. Even at green stage, they do have a hint of sugar content. But yellow ones are usually used in Shakes, sliced pieces into Frosted Flakes cereal cold milk, etc…
For sweet we have the sweet plantain chips called chifles or Maduritos. Those go well with anything
Dulce de Coco, Mofongo, Coquito, Ensalads de Pulpo, Alcapurias, and most important of all…. Los Quecitos de la Casa De España. PR has amazing food and I’m so proud of my culture.
YES! Have them try Puerto Rican and Cuban Foods! I am both and Mexican....my family eats well! Also Malta is my all time favorite drink!
Malta tastes really good when it’s super cold from several hours on the fridge and absolutely no ice. Straight from the bottle.
OMG! Yes y’all should come here and taste food in the island 💖
Maybe one day! ❤️
Cant wait to go back and vist been so long so many years but I cook my Rican food at my house and be amazing love it
😊😊 bye the way @FrancheskaBL you very beautiful
Its funny because I’m puertorican and the Malta India taste sweet to me 😂we get so used to the flavor that it’s not even strong to us
What’s funny is there heavily Americanized , a lot of those snacks are similar in Mexico , plantain chips we eat those to , like the little cookies . There’s a lot of similarities.
@@AzSureno I mean when you say Americanized you mean as in U.S kind of American? Because if you do you should know Puerto Rico is a U.S territory which inherently mixes our Spanish culture with American culture even our language is affected by that so yes you are right.
@@geosamarymarquez8671 oh I’m talking about the people in the video
The mom with the tattoos (I'm sorry, I don't know her name) is probably my favorite. I like her personality.
I love this one. When they try the plantain chips and the malta was the best part🤩🤩🤩. Next time try tira y jala, coco piña y gofio. Saludos desde Puerto Rico🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
I used drink Malta often when I was a kid, LOVED IT! My grandma bought it all the time. I tried it again as an adult & idk how the hell I liked it as a kid lmao florecitas are my favorite!!! Love them!

I love Puerto Rican food etc.
One thing about them is ajo is like a stamp in a lot of their foods and I LOVE garlic
As a kid I hated the sesame snacks🤣🤣🤣 but I adore Malta India ice cold ❤❤❤ the little galletas were kinda weird and crunchy, and regular lightly salted plaintain chips are 🔥🔥🔥
