I still miss this show and find myself rewatching the whole 7 seasons a couple of times a year..... Simon Baker is just so convincing and the writing quality never falters throughout the whole 7 seasons.
I still remember when I first saw the advertisement for the series,"Hes just an ordinary man with extra ordinary skills",that peaked my interest and I thought it was something like CSI series but man was I wrong. The emotional rides that went throughout the series was on a different level. One of my fav series after the Originals.
Just have finished the seventh season. This series is a damn masterpiece. Patrick Jane is one of the deepest characters I've ever seen, for sure it's impossible not to fall in love with this guy from the first moment you see him...
oh my god, it's literally the most beautiful patrick jane edit I have ever seen and I'm obsessed with this already. I just love when I see people love patrick jane as much as I do and this makes me so happy. he'll always be my favorite and every time I miss him, I'll be there and watch this edit
Roses are red Violets are blue If u love with patrick jane This server is good to u (I cant invite u from here bcs of yt but if u want u can come our server with using disboard. Just write 'The Mentalist' on the disboard. Server name is: The Mentalist Türkiye)
ahh what an amazing edit... From breaking bad to kota factory , from the walking dead to friends.. I've watched number of web/tv series.. but never been attached to any of those as much as "The Mentalist"...
Excellent video on Patrick Jane's trauma, pain, and grief. Behind his smile and at times charm and humor was someone battling a lot of demons, guilt, and self-hatred. As broken as he was, he kept going forward. Found some purpose and people who came to be his close inner circle. The trauma will always be with him, but he moves forward as best he can. I will always enjoy this series because it pulled back the layers of trauma, inner pain, and more. It was more than just a crime series, but one about everyone with something to hide or deeply struggling with. NF' song adds to this very well.
I’m supposed to be working but here I am OBSESSED with the Mentalist. I’ve cycled through all 7 series over and over since January. I may have a problem 😢
I remember when I saw the first two episodes I thought, “this man. He’s very smart, eh? The kind thats a mess and hides behind charisma, genius or humour.” We see a lot of that, huh? Chandler Bing, Jake Peralta? Even Spencer Reid, maybe?
after all these years I still wish we’d got the chance to see the emotional weight his vengeance had on him; because let’s face it, yes he does not regret killing red John, as he should, but the act of killing is traumatic in itself. And in my opinion it should have been shown, how even tho he is at peace with what he did, it’s still heavy to carry with you; no mat he r how badly you wanted it, no matter who and why you did it, taking a life is never easy when you have a conscience- even if the person deserved it for being the worse possible piece of shit.
It doesn't seem to me that Patrick should have felt any regrets or carried any heavy burden in this case. He not only avenged his family, but also saved other people from a monster who had the blood of dozens of innocent people on his hands and posed a real danger to others. And Jane worked side by side with agents for many years, saw death many times, and killed people himself. So his psyche could well withstand the murder of such a monster. He probably would feel guilty for the death of his wife and daughter for the rest of his life. But I doubt he would worry about killing Red John.
Do agree. Back in its original run, I was curious to see if the series would have delved into that and it's a shame they missed that opportunity, even with the limited number of episodes they were given in the aftermath of Red John's wrap up. It's briefly addressed in episode 6.09, 6.20, and 7.03 but IMO it does not completely delve into it the way it could have been as we see in the earlier seasons of Jane's trauma and guilt from causing his family's passing (see YT rules). However, I do agree with mariag.4884. When you witness and experience so much bloodshed in the criminal field as Jane does, you become almost numb to it. We see in some moments Jane's guilt for ending the lives of certain people, whether intentional or not. We even see his shock and sort of sadness at Lorelai's demise to Red John in season 5 including his disturbance by her ruthlessness with eliminating & tortu***g suspects in her sister's mur**r (again YT rules). It's only with Red John that Jane seems to feel no guilt as far as we know, and I don't believe he has any regrets just as several people he meets throughout the show that have taken their own revenge on a monster who eliminated their loved one (a sort of example is what we learn of LaRache in season 5).
Patrick jane is still my most lovable character. I still feel like this is real. The Mentalist the best tv series for me.

You are right ... IMHO, After red John's death the rest of the episodes were unwanted..

This made me remember all the emotions I went through when I was watching the series

That moment you realize she was probably just saying pretty little lies so Jane feels some sort of peace. It's very unlikely she didn't wake up...
