    While you can never have too many clamps, storing your clamps can take up lots of space. These simple welded steel hangers take up minimal space while holding lots of clamps. This concept is one that can easily be customized for your own assortment of clamps

    Nice simple solution to a very common shop problem, it's just too bad you don't have any clamps!
    We all really appreciate you're videos and the way you think through whatever design issues you have and to come up with great solutions. Great informative video as always, thanks.

    Nice brackets, the things I would do differently, only because I don't have a bandsaw set up for metal cutting, is to leave the brackets a 90 degrees and use the welder to add a bead on top to prevent the clamps sliding off. It doesn't take much to create that kind of retention and the welder would make a sufficient tab.

    Hi John, I had a flashback when you lit your stove of Dave Richards, old time steam powered machine shop, when he lights the boiler. Wasn't quite sure what to expect. Most of my clamps are for steel fabricatorcation. But we need woodworkers too. Nice job. 👍

    What do you mean you don't need any more clamps?
    There is still bare wall space to fill with clamps!
    And floors, if there aren't boxes of clamps sitting in the most inconvenient place, you don't have enough of them.

    It's incredible to see just how creative you are John! Thanks for sharing this concept with us. I'm a bit north from you and today it's supposed to be 75⁰F today. Maybe it will be that for you too and melt some of that snow!
    Oh, while I'm thinking of snow. How do you keep your shop propane from getting too cold that it doesn't work? The other day when it was 25⁰ here my forge wouldn't light. I suspect the propane was too cold from the night before when it got to 16⁰ out.

    • @BlackBearForge
      @BlackBearForge  7 месяцев назад +1

      We should be warm here today as well. Small propane tanks are an lissue in the cold. 100 pound cylinders do much better. The main shop uses a 500 gallon tank and never has a problem

    • @RyanBarnes
      @RyanBarnes 7 месяцев назад

      @@BlackBearForge woah, maybe one day I'll get a big upgrade! For now I'm stuck with my 20lb tanks. I've heard a blanket helps. I'm thinking since it's not too hard to do, I'll just bring them inside on days I know it's going to be super cold.

    Dear Mr. BLACKBEAR,
    I have an unsolved problem in the Art of blacksmithing:
    How does it work, that the cable of my grinder is always 15 times drilled around, though i have it only 2 times in my hand and take care not to drill it once a time???
    Do you have any explanation, or per haps a solution?

  • @mikehodges6598

    I started out using Minwax for my blacksmithing because the store didn't have any Johnson's (this was before Johnson's was discontinued). I like it just fine. BTW, does that clamp rack stow in the little alcove right behind it?

    Suggestion for your no power shop, didn't you have a hand cranked wall mounted drill press? It would at least look great.

      I actually sold the old one a few months before starting in on this shop. If I find one for sale thats ready to go to work, I will probably add it to this shop.
