This song is gem. So sad but so perfect. Her vocal inflections on "the mystery and the splendor" in addition to "I don't want to talk...". Not only can she write such incredible lyrics to describe a dark place many of us have been in but she sings them with such grace and beauty. And then the backward guitars kick in. Doesn't get any better. Just incredible.

I first heard this song at a time when 2 people who were very dear to me were beginning to head to “the other side” from dementia. Dementia may not have been what this song was about but I thought it really captured the essence of the experience. My friends have long since departed for this world but I still cry when I listen to this song.

I was looking for 'Everything is Wrong' another great song of hers and found THIS song, which is pretty accurately describing how I feel in my own life right now. Her voice is absolutely unique. Another part of her tool-box for painting the perfect picture.

Similar thing happened to me, I asked my kids for a certain book on the Andes mountains and they got me a different one also about the Andes mountains but it was called "Miracle in the Andes" by Nanda Parado, it sure brought me out of my funk! Good luck buddy, I know life can sure be rough!

    ''The One's Who'll''
''There are artists who can wrest us up
And place us into themselves; into their work.
These are The One's Who'll continue to wrest us up
Even beyond their appointed rests in peace.'' - gilpin 121719
