Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) navigate running the third oldest professional football club in the world. Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.
In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The worry? Rob and Ryan have no experience in football or working with each other. From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.
The docuseries is produced by Boardwalk Pictures.

"It's being here, with your football family."
As a long suffering Wrexham fan from all the way back in 2022 I hope we get promoted this year!
This has been the hardest 3 months ever.
This comment aged well
Well you team did ❤
@@johnherrera1215 You do know it was ment as humor, making fun of all the new Wrexham fans like me who became fans of the team because of a TV show, Welcome To Wrexham?
Congratulations! Looks like your hope was realized!
I'm from Wrecsam but live in New Zealand and it still baffles me when I get asked do you like or support Wrecsam when I'm out wearing my Wrecsam hat or t-shirt. It's unbelievable what Rob and Ryan have done for the town. From random encounters on the street the otherside of the world to going home to see the town with a buzz about it, I don't think I have ever seen. Eternally grateful 🙏 Diolch yn Fawr 🏴
Isn't it called Wrexham kekw
@@fartimusmaximus8710 It's how the name is spelt in Welsh,no x in the Welsh alphabet.
@@edledskal9147 it's how you spell it in Welsh,no x in the Welsh language.
I'm quarter welsh, and from Tauranga. I'm a proud Wrexham supporter.
Being from Wrexham and working my entire working life in Wrexham hospital, this is all very surreal and takes some getting used to.
Came for the Real Life Ted Lasso... stayed for the people and the town\Team!!!
Ummmm, the real life Ted Lasso is Jesse Marsch and he just got the boot.
My friend and I binged this show, and loved that it included the community. What an awesome city.
Have to say I'm irish I'm not a soccer supporter. Welsh I truely admire their spirit.
Watched in two days the whole series. What a community. Truely credit to you all. Heart broken to hear some stories yet so inspired how many seen their way true this game we call life. How many lives have being changed and how many assumptions of some players decision to move was infact more valuable than money "family".
I hope many joyful rewarding games ahead for fans for club. Touched by you all and driven now to visit this beautiful town. Thank you all on sharing your lives .
I quite enjoyed picking out people from the show in the crowd during this season. The red head lady was right behind a celebration during the Nott's match
I love this adventure, this town, this team...
Following this heart warming story .. it's amazing to see the progress and changes. Hope it's automatic promotion this season! And continue the progress upwards
I hope Wrexham get promoted, and I hope the town benefits from this, the two lads seem really sincere, love and success to all at Wrexham. Man U,, Salford
They have.
@@cordovalark5295 yea it was amazing eh 👍👍
FA Cup run and standing top of the League, Season 2 looks to be really exciting thus far!!! Up the Town!!!!
Great town, great series! Cheers from Milwaukee Wisconsin 🇺🇲🧀
What a great story Rob and Ryan are creating. Can't wait to see what the future holds.
I love this series and the town of Wrexham! 🏆
Wrexham always been in my heart the people the history the football club .they deserve this more than anyone come on the town xxxxxxxx
Go Wrexham!! Love the town, and love the team!!
It a a great story. Will keep a lookout to the scores and video clips. I finally got to England in oct 2022. Saw Preston vs Swansea. Atmosphere was amazing. Can only imagine the stadium
Bohs, Celtic, Wrexham 🇮🇪 🏴 🏴 friends across the sea!
We need the 2nd season now
Season’s got to end first so we can get the big finish! I agree though, I can’t wait!
It's going to be a hell of a season thus far. A FA Cup run and being top of the league. Up the Town!!!!
Not much material to go into another season if unable to win automatic promotion in May.
I'm waiting for Season 2
"As a a Stockport fan, I just wanted to say thanks for f***ing up the title for last season but I hope we continue our "rivalry" next season unless we go up again
Good to see my school friend Gareth Winter in this. 👍
Reminds me of Netflix's "Sunderland ’Til I Die", a true-to-life football downfall.
Wrexham are growing as a club.
can't believe Wrexham is real, I thought it was just a one off thing in Ted lasso
Just like virtually any other football club on the Island then . . . intertwined with the local community. Depending the fortunes of a town just on a football club though, is a shaky foundation, presumably that was meant hyperbolically.
To take something like that as a negative... find some positive in your life mate, rather than attack. Or your life will not be good. Seriously. Change it up. A positive, collective joy is good for the human soul.
I’d like Billy Blunt (Sharp)to watch this!
Born and raised in Kansas City Missouri (Chiefs territory) it is cool to see such pride come to a city.
Go Wrexham
Oney represent
GOING UP!!
Ho, wait. This club was so far in shambles that even parts of the stadium were broken when they bought it?
Season 2 Trailer When?
NOICE!
No, no, no, it's not pronounced "Wrexham" it's pronounced "rum-ham".
Shut up, Bird
Wrecks em!
❤❤❤
It just shows how an entire community can change and thrive and be inspired to do more, when someone who has the money and has a vision, wants to contribute 🙂.
I think why hasn't some politician - perhaps an ex Prime Minister worth £80 million pounds - AND was supposed to lead the working labour voting people - have contribted absolutely nothing to tyhe people that they were voted in to seve?
Makes you think doesn't it 😞
These 2 guys should get a knight hood.
Just another rich savior story.
Rob and Ryan are so impressed with themselves.
Well they have accomplished quite a bit. You could do a documentary about snarky Internet commentors.
You're the only one who came away with that take. So congrats on being unique.
@Toecutter - jealousy will get you nowhere.
When you have done what they have done then you can yak.
i dont like it from them 2, they look smug
Eagles winning the Super Bowl being so amazing to him is kinda weird.
Is that the team from Pennsylvania?
@@scorpioninpink yeah it's that team from the very small rural town in PA called Philadelphia.
@@CARUNNERUP your life wasn’t any different after that game. Why is it so amazing?
And caring about your sports team is basically just caring for celebrity
@@frankf684You would normally be correct with any other NFL team, but the Eagles are one of the oldest teams and somehow never won a Super Bowl up to that point. Any time someone would find out you’re an Eagles fan they would immediately crack jokes about it. It probably felt to them after decades and decades of close calls and frustration that it would just never happen. It finally happened in particularly dramatic fashion as they were playing against the most dominant/hated team of the era. The Patriots led by Tom Brady.
I feel this whole situation is over blown and stupid from these 2. If they wanna do good for the world maybe they can take part in charity work or giveaway their millions to people in poverty rather than buying a team for them selves.
Its a shame Cymru and Wrecsam is being promoted by none native citizens aswell and it doesnt help that the people act like these 2 are jesus or something
I mean I think you missed the community angle lol. There aren’t alot of charities that lift up entire communities almost overnight. And nice xenophobic add ons to conclude ur incoherent thoughts. Nailed it.
@@michaeln3044 theres nothing xenophobic to what ive said. its fine if they want to buy Wrecsam, but i dont like these 2 are showing off about it. i stick to my point that its a shame the people of Cymraeg arent representing the culture and instead its 2 bored hollywood super stars with lots of money who never cared for Cymru, Wrecsam or football before who are doing the job. I wish both they and the people of Wrecsam and Cymru stop behaving like they care when they obviously don't. If they wanna do good for the world maybe they can give their money to wrecsam football for free, or for the poor in Wrecsam, or give their money to skidrow in hollywood, or maybe to there home towns in Cannada, or buy the hockey teams there rather than buying a football club they never cared for before. NEVER say i'm being Xenophobic again, how dare you
Wow……
Ryan has given millions to charity. He is Canada's favorite human being. This is about combining so many things together. Sport, business, ambition, doing good, community, a collective goal. This is something very few have ever done. Imagine if they could make it to the Premier League. Tiny old Wrexham. It will be an all time story.
@@11matt11 thats not my problem. they are showing off in all these promotion videos like like they are one of the players, rather than let the team show them selves. i dont want them showing off and just because you bought a team, it wont make the football players any better at the sport. Wrecsam want them to do it for the exposure because no ones ever heard of the place or team so they are taking advantage of this aswell
