edit: follow up I was told that nahida burst doesn't actually apply dendro, that is my mistake, the preview did not mention anything
this make her a little less insane as i originally thought, but i think overall i would still put nahida as a very very good character, and player should consider pulling for her
as a side note, i was aware that her elemental skill had a CD, I didn't think i needed to explicitly describe it, but it appear that i failed to mentioned it as some might take the wrong impression,
overall this is why the original message here is important

At most, you can say that it HELPS to apply more dendro, indirectly , if you have an Electro in the team, or C1, by lowering the trigger rate, but that’s about it. But the burst has no direct damage component to it

A constant Dendro Applier that gives a lot. Nahida looks amazing in the Previews. But her Banner Dropping in a week, so devs have to put "subjected to change" bit on the character reveal so that Burning may or may not be subjected to change before release or even after too.
I just love her in general because of her Gameplay and her kit.
Why do you care? Dendro is useless and trash. Freeze and vape have been with us since the beginning and you’re just gonna dump it for the dendro?
I can only think insane Nahida skill and Fischl A4 interactions will be. Proc Quicken/Aggravate both Fischl and Nahida apply elements again lol
2:16 The aiming mode will probably still be used because the tap may be restrictive of how far you can apply. We can see later that the camera has a long range when she is collected items like fruits and stuff later in her showcase

Yes, and it doesnt take that much time specially once you get used to it or mastered it to the point in just few secs you snap all the targets (limited to 8), and the difference in cooldown between hold and tap is almost the same (1s diff). Still among current dendro this is still the best way so far to apply dendro specially with scattered mobs, DMC's skill can miss and melee range, Collei you cant control where that boomerang will go and can also miss with flying enemies

Nahida's skills and animations alone is enough for me to pull for her. If shes relevant to the meta thats a bonus and that passive is also a further bonus. Im definitely pulling for Nahida.

Perhaps it'll be like Nilou. Nilou's elemental skill can apply hydro without doing damage, I think Nahida is similar. Although I don't have time to validate that so we'll just have to wait and see

Amazing yes, but also scary- beta kit has her with quite low hp and defense, which matters most on the unit most likely to be tanking hits. Shield, strong heals, or skill are gonna be a must.
The good news is she has similar damage potential to a main DPS (unlike other Dendro applicators), so you can afford sacrificing some damage for comfort. Lots of dendro teams are already running Zhongli or Diona. Personally I'm a fan of either Kuki or Xingqiu+Beidou.

@@musicaddict9058 At least it looks like Nahida's normal/charged attacks are quicker and more fluid than Klee's, allowing you to get your attacks off and dodge effectively. Klee is the kludgyest character to play in the game.
@@prophetmuhammad3890 I mean, yes, but I'd rather not be OHKO'd the first time I fail. I suppose you could sacrifice some substats to make up the difference, but I'd rather just mitigate the issue through secondary units- Hyperbloom has tons of options- Beidou+Xingqiu give 80% damage reduction, Kuki gives solid healing and is one of two, maybe 3 good electro units to trigger hyperbloom. Sayu, Jean, Zhongli, and Diona fit anywhere. Could run Prototype Amber on Sucrose for VV shred with Quicken. Thoma shield is enough for burgeon, maybe.
Someone needs to theorycraft the 4 archon team when Nahida Arrives. All 4 archons have synergy of being a good aggravate team with Raiden and Venti (infused burst) doing electro damage.

It’ll work simply due to the nature of archons have strong kit, but the actual team itself lacks synergy. Raiden’s burst bonus and energy is very low impact for everyone in the team, and similarly she’s doing less damage because the resolve count is a lot lower than her normal teams. Not to mention aggravate, while good, is not too impactful on Raiden. Raiden also has minimal synergy with shields.
I was thinking this would be where venti would also shine where his burst damage is also strong. Though after seeing 3.2 abyss, this team might not be that great there (F12 Thundering Manifestation).
Her burst doesn't apply Dendro you know... Also, using the hold version of the elemental skill wil be better since you can just quickly swipe it horizontally to mark every enemy in front of you. For the press version, you need to be really close to all enemies, so it mostly for single target or grouped enemies.
He may not know it, this is talking about not looking into leaks...

@@yahikonightray5398 nah he does look at leaks. when he is on keqingmains podcast, he gives hints that he looks up leaks, like saying "suske" or doomposting a leaked character. He probably saw that melt ganyu w/ nahida from a leak showcase that was recently released the past week, too. I'm just surprised his editor didn't catch that mistake.

She's a safe bet though. Archons can never go wrong. Ten Ten saw that safety net and gave that rating. If it were any other character, I think he would hesitate.
In an overhype time. I agree she's a safe bet rn but... she shouldn't be too hard to overthrow when baizhu comes out, just on a virtue of being a dendro healer which still is important for quite a lot of teams. And i mean, compare her with the likes of sucrose and kazuha, he didn't rate them 5/5 when they give more to the team than she does.

A-side from the fact that the team he recommends uses Nahida as the catalyst user and the substat and passive is useless for her
Please alongside the character analysis please also do her weapon analysis when she comes out. Since she is gonna be with Yoimiya the weapon banner will feature Thundering Pulse.... but a lot of us want to know if Nahida's signature weapon is worth it too
There are VERY few 5-star weapons worth pulling with really Homa and Mistsplitter being the only worthy ones because they get so much value on so many characters and comps. Catalyst users are the least motivated to pull as there are a plethora of solid, 4-star options, and I imagine this will continue with Nahida's release.
She is EM based so, tossing on R5 Mappa, etc. will likely be decently strong since you only need to cap EM at 1,000 (EM loses value after 1000 for her)--this would likely allow you to have a crit rate/crit dmg helm. I'm guessing Widsith will be a solid choice as well since she can benefit heavily from 2/3's of the buffs and crit dmg is very valuable for her as well.
Watch zajef nahida pre analysis, its so much more detailed than this, and he also has weapon recommendations for her as well

Burst doesn't apply dendro.
It gives buffs to Nahida's E as long as you're inside, depending on her teammates elements (gorou-like) and buffs the active character by 25% of the highest EM character in the team, capped to 250.
I can see some issues with "too strong" comps, where things die and come in wave, but you can't refresh Nahida's E without cutting your rotation short. Honestly it's more of a luxury problem lol, it doesn't really matter if you already kill anything anyway
I think it's just cyno's problem, the thing is Cyno is the problem as he is restricted within his burst on-field time, if you are just killing weak mobs then just use traveler but Cyno isnt really good in mob battles specially those are scattered around (unless spare a slot for a CC), Cyno strong point is against bosses with high hp as you can fully utilized his burst duration, and this is where Nahida comes in due to her E duration last longer than Cyno' burst and whether that target blinks or dash (ex. maguu kenki) you are guaranteed with constant quicken reaction. This is why Cyno feels restrictive and has limited team comps, still Nahida can improve Cyno team comp in a way I mention earlier.

I mean, I'm pulling her on one of my 2 accounts, but since the devs aren't interested in combat-based endgame, and we can easily one-shot the Abyss with the traveller, she isn't a must have at all. She makes playing dendro reaction teams significantly more faceroll though so you don't have to think about positioning pretty much at all when using her.
She doesn't change the way we play, she just makes the way we already play that much more efficient. The caveat to this statement is if the burning application after a cryo reaction does refresh burning. That will enable some more diversity which is welcome.
Dendro is a trash element with trash reactions. Freeze and National are way better.

@@Viewer13128 You’re trading XL for Nahida essentially. With Nahida you gain about 200 EM but you also have to be very precise in your charged attacks. You’re also entirely locked out of your burst. With XL you can use Ganyu’s burst and get the 20% Cryo damage bonus while benefiting from XL’s off field damage, which is still high; however, Nahida also doesn’t require a battery. It’s more of a matter of pick your preference.

@@kale1287 Pretty sure you can't use Ganyu burst with XL, as it will steal melts. Jean sunfire is the only melt Ganyu team where you can use Ganyu burst without losing melts on her CA.
@@groudon3524 It’s not consistent bursting, but XL can provide enough pyro if you cast Guoba right before switching to Ganyu. The point is the option is there and sometimes you do wanna use her burst. Even if Cryo takes over, XL easily applies it back. With Nahida, Ganyu’s burst will straight up destroy your setup because if the pyro aura is gone, it’s gone.

With 2 electro it's about 1.9 so the dendro application isn't everytime keqing does elemental reaction it has a 1.9-2.5 sec interval
Mostly agree. But her tap version is not like you stay and aim for a long time. You press and swipe fast across the room. Also, it might help to avoid some controlling attacks.

Did... did you not notice that her burst has no damage/dendro application at all? And that there's a cooldown on her E triggers that makes it barely any better than standard ICD? The dendro application on Nahida is better than the competition, but that's not saying much. It's nowhere near Xiangling's pyro application, Xingqiu's hydro application or Fischl's electro application.
Her main draw isn't 'insane dendro application', it's her personal damage and party-wide buff.
Wouldn't Nahida and nilou bloom team still need kokomi because of the self damage, not sure if xingqius healing would be adequate

@@shazaki1134 from what I saw, it depends on the Nahida playstyle. Full EM for offfield, and EM, Dendro DMG bonus, and Crit/CD for onfield driver.
@@shazaki1134 lol, I don't know. Haven't got my hands on her yet. But nilou buffs all core damage. If she can supply enough dendro for three characters, then it's better to go the crit route. If she can't and she's the trigger, then it's better to go the em route.
I just made an insane team in my mind. Bennett - Venti - Nahida - Ganyu
Bennett burst apply pyro - Venti burst absorbs pyro - Nahida (TTDS) links all enemies because they are grouped up (continuous burning) - Ganyu burst

No you don’t. Just run Ayaka freeze and National. They’re all you need anyway.
you don't need a lot of dendro application for 100% aggravate uptime... Nahida doesn't really change much for Keqing mechanics-wise, she's just stronger than remaining dendro charas.
Collei or DMC are perfectly capable of maintaining full uptime for aggravates. Only Cyno needs Nahida because of his long field time without the ability to swap out.
Nahida's value lies in other teams, like bloom, hyperbloom, burgeon, where she enables previously impossible setups.
some points to consider:
if using her as an onfield driver, her burst is not as useful right? unless your party can snapshot EM (something they try to lessen when making newer characters tbh). at best its a dmg increase for her skill.
also, her burst doesnt apply any dendro, correct? the electro effect used to be not as appealing but then they removed the skill icd so thats a relief.
anyway, you made some good points with the way her skill works! a lot of the reason why traveler is hard to use is because its a fixed area (but i disagree, and i think traveler is still really good for dendro teams. at least MC much more resembles nahidas abilities than the previous traveler elements like geo, electro. off field dendro + em buff to active character)
Her burst buffs also herself, so it is still pretty important, especially because EM not only buffs Nahida's reaction dmg, but also her skill dmg (her talent has EM-scaling)
from what I have heard, the burst does have a high cast time(2s), so yeah, u don't need bursts for her I believe.

If your on-field driver doesn't use EM, her burst is not useful, yes. Nahida does use the EM buff however, that's just means more crits or dmg% you can use on her, which is really useful when play in quicken team. And in hyperbloom it is like a maybe? Her E triggered based on reactions, so if you are not using off-field characters that triggred reactions frequently like Fischl for example, says a hyperbloom team with only Kuki with off-field Nahida and non EM scaling onfield like Ayato, if a reaction triggered between 2.1 and 2.5s tri-karma won't proc if you didn't use her burst, and your trikarma proc will get delayed to 3s, which is obviously worse than 2.1-2.5s. But that's totally dependent of how it will played out in real combat like hyperbloom travel speed for example, and probably will get tested once she is actually out. For now we only knows the numbers, everything else are assumptions

I would prefer other "buffs" ☹. If the CD changes, the artifact set and rotation can be different depending of the comp. It feels like a complicated character.
@@alicg7829 she was already complicated pre-buff, the buff just makes her better as an off-field enabler for hyperbloom/burgeon stuffs. I'd take slightly complicated but solvable over uncomplicated but arguably horrible any day of the week.
And artifacts are actually pretty simple. Just magic guide and full EM or EM/EM/Cr or Dendro depending on subs for off-field, and Solar Pearl/Sac/Widsth/Mappa Mare and EM/EM/Crit or Dendro for on-field. Generally just go 4 deepwood. If you like really really really into min-maxing, plug it into custom multi config in the optimizer. Nahida is strong anyway, her scaling and kit is also lenient, you wouldn't missed your 36* from being slightly unoptimal, it's not the end of the world.

Okay so if Nahida triger a burn reaction, and then apply another Dendro Aura and because of the burn itself applying pyro auro to the enemy, that is mean, if you you use Nahida in the burn team, you literally create an infinite burn reaction that will not be estinguish until the enemy die or get interupt by another element?
Yes! But Nahida E needs you to proc an elemental reaction first. Burning ticks does apply pyro but only once every 2 secs, but Nahida E has 2.5 sec CD. So just Nahida and a pyro won't be enough.
Maybe, a C1 Nahida or having electro in party will do.
IIRC Burning still needs more Pyro application or Burning will extinguish

Haven't seen anyone talking about this, I'm really interested in trying to make what I call Tase-Bloom. Nahida, Beidou, Xingqiu, and Sucrose Driver- Sucrose ends up with something like 1200 EM, triggering swirl, hyperblooms, and e-charged.
Considering running Evenstar- Sacrificial Fragments is standard for a reason, but at 1200 EM, R1 Evenstar is giving effectively 8+% attack buff to the other three with 100% uptime- TTDS gives 48% to one unit with at best 50% uptime- (48÷2)÷3=8. Of course 48% given to a hyper-carry right before they burst is worth a lot more than 8% to 3 sub-dps continuously, but Evenstar also gives Sucrose 165 EM and 288 attack, TTDS gives HP%. Whether *all of that* is better than the 70 extra EM and the skill reset Sac Yeah gives, hard to say
This is just an existing Sucrose Hyperbloom team with traveler swapped out for Nahida. It’s already very strong and it’ll get stronger.
Someone is trying to use the traveler to purify the contamination within you know what it is. As we all know the traveler have some kind of powerful purification effect.
As good as Nahida looks I do still think she's not absolutely necessary especially if (as you pointed out) you aren't/don't run dendro teams. I think as of right now I think her role is a little inflated because of the lack of dendro characters especially when aside from Tighnari, who really doesn't have much support utility, we only really have 2 dendro supports and they're both essentially 4stars while Nahida is a 5star and an archon too. Plus MC and Collei don't exactly have that amazing of dendro application on-field or off-field anyways so her having on hand dendro application obv makes her look more appealing.
I feel like as we get more dendro characters to fill in more roles we might see a shift in how replaceable/irreplaceable Nahida is. Like another dendro catalyst or dendro infusion driver might perform similarly.
yes there will be more Dendro in the future but I dont think they will be as universal good as Nahida (as dendro applicator and reaction-based support), or at least in only certain aspect they will be better, ex. Baizhu as probably a dendro healer, Alhaitam seems to be a melee dendro dps playstyle, if its just 4 star dendro lets not have that much expectation, support unit are usually the one that is a longterm value when they have lot of things they can do or only them can perform while DPS-only chars are mostly situational (case to case)
Nahida is really a great dendro unit but having more dendro options is also good for more variety (also to make a better use of Dendro synergy)

If you're not already sold on pulling Nahida you might wanna wait for re-run. Baizhu, a 5* Dendro healer should be released before Nahida's re-run. I don't think his dendro application will be as good as Nahida's but if his application end up being just as good as traveler's he'd still be a very compelling pull. I'll be pulling Nahida but mostly because I like her character; my existing dendro teams can already 36* Abyss.
Also raiden coming next version and people are saying scara is brokenly good and xiao powercreep so i will wait for rerun since I need raiden rn
That'd still be like 3.7 and you buy a cat in the bag since we don't know a single thing about his kit. My stance is if you like playing dendro teams you probably should get her now as she's the only non-copium dendro support for the next half a year... But i agree a dendro healer shouldn't have a hard time overthroning her.
i don't want to play dentro team, but i want to play melt Ganyu. can i ask if dendro melt ganyu is better than the classic Ganyu, Xiangling, Kazuya, Bennett melt Ganyu team?

thankfully with nahida most people have been skipping on copium banners and saving for her. at 70 pity, I have 160 fates stockpiled since 2.7 and I only have 10% sumeru exploration. Most players who've explored sumeru should have even more. This guarantees nahida for me in 2x 10 pulls and then I have the rest for scaramouche/dehya/al haitham. Extremely f2p friendly given that I already have 20 teams that can 12-3 9* abyss lol.

Nilou Xingqiu Nahida Yelan is basically unplayable because of the bloom self damage. I think you are too obsessed with damage that you disregard every other aspect of a good team.
For the melt ganyu, who would be a the choice to substitute xiangling though? The XL+benny combo does tons of damage on top of ganyu melt and ganyu kinda needs a shielder anywho. with burning ganyu, not only does the burning have to do more damage itself than XL+benny, you might need a slot for a shielder or healer now.
Nahida does quite a lot of dmg in her own right
1 - Nahida's damage is not that low as you are making it seem.
2 - this team will allow you to use benny and xangling on your second team
3 - with nahida, this will free you from the shotgun-ganyu, which was not smooth to play without zhongli.
Nahida will allow you to play melt ganyu even if you are far from enemy
4 - she does not have any ER requirements unlike xangling who we had to farm energy to each rotation.
If she really will work like what the leaks suggested, nahida will be a HUGE W For melt ganyu
Because the burning is done with Nahida EM as she is the trigger. And you will definitely want to build 1000EM on Nahida in order for her to be optimal. So the burning damage itself is going to be very high. Outside of that, Nahida can do about 100k personal damage from her stats, so she is an ok subdps. But the most important thing that Xiangling cannot do, and the main reason you pic Nahida over Xiangling, is that Nahida can supply 250EM to Ganyu from her A1 passive with her burst, that means Ganyu is going to get an amazing amount of reaction buff to her melt. And, you don't have to run Bennett as your pyro, you can run a pyro shielder like Xinyan or TTDS TankFei, then run Kazuha to buff and cc. Of course you don't want to cast Kazuha burst in this case and mess up the reaction.
xiangling damage is not that much on on melt ganyu team, she builds a lot of er and normally run fav lance.. also she is not triggering reactions .. so her personal damage do take a big hit.. she does do a decent amount but its not that much as other teams.. Also nahida q gives 250 em
I dont think Nahiha Nilou Xingqui and yelan is a good team. Because where is your healer? Bloom is doing a lot of dmg to yourself. If u gonna play that Team u gonna die very quick. U have to replace yelan or xingqui with either barabra or Kokomi. Correct me pls if im wrong.

I only found 1 i.e. In melt Ganyu team, and it looks more efficient & very low energy need as compared to Xangling melt Ganyu.
The setup is: Ganyu Nahida Bennett Zhongli
The thing is Nahida E can prock Dendro every 2.5s & if the maked enemies by Nahida E skill in under Bennett Q, it dors countinous Burning reaction and applied continuously.
Hence, Now Ganyu can do more melt Charge shots per rotation and there is no need for that much energy to funnel for others just like Xangling.
And Nahida Q also gives 250EM to the character in Feild.
TLDR, Ganyu gets free 250EM, She can do more melt Charge shots rather than 4, and the entire team is not energy hungry.
Sounds like finally Melt Ganyu is viable for everyone

I haven't played Genshin for many months. I was really hoping Yae Miko would be good but she wasn't, Raiden I already have on one account, Yelan is seen as better now but she was somewhat underwhelming at release, and then when I finally tried to pull for Kazuha, I failed 50/50 on 3 separate accounts, and the 4-stars offered made it impossible to try again... So through all that time I've not played the game, only logged in here or there for promo codes and returning player bonuses over and over again.
Nahida has a nice design, especially the swing idle animation, so I hope she's strong and versatile so I can finally pull something and play again.
Yae aggravate/hyperbloom teams with 4 piece thundering fury is pretty damn good. Basically all electro dps got buffed with the release of dendro. Also Yelan is a fantastic sub dps and idk where you got that she was underwhelming on release.
With dendro yae is actually really strong. There are calcs that actually put yae aggravate teams on par with the top single target teams out there in dps. Yae/Fischl/nahida will actually be even stronger in single target than raiden national. Maybe controversial but I actually rate yae the same tier as raiden after dendro.
Never forget that if you don;t get her now you can always get her in 4 patches from her release. (since all archons until now have had a rerun in 4 patches from release)
